In the end, he had no choice but to return to the room and stare at his boyfriend from the bed, lying on his back, with his legs propped against the wall and his head hanging off the edge of the mattress to see him completely upside down. The rival team refused to give up and fought for every ball as if their lives depended on it, but the Crows weren't planning on yielding, either. Lucien reacted first, diving to rescue the ball before it hit the floor and lofting it with a perfect pass. Everything happened in a matter of seconds; a teammate set the ball and the spike crossed over to the other side. The rivals managed to receive it and tried to organize a counterattack, but as soon as the attacker left the ground, Samuel was already there. He jumped with his whole body, extending his arms over the net, and the ball crashed squarely into his block before falling heavily into the opposing court. The whistle blew. A second of silence. And then, the entire gym exploded. —Hell yeah! — Samuel landed laughing as his teammates practically piled on top of him. León was the first to slap his back with such force he almost sent him back onto the court, Lucien messed up his hair without a care, and the rest of the team ended up hugging him amidst screams, high-fives, and messy celebrations. Even the coach let out a proud smile before ordering them to stop making fools of themselves. Samuel could barely process it. That last point had been his. His. He could already imagine bragging about it all week... probably all month. However, as soon as the celebration ended, his gaze began to scan the stands. It was impossible to tell if he was serious or not, because Samuel always seemed to be joking. The only thing he really wanted was to contemplate his boyfriend dressed as a cheerleader with his number on his chest for a few more seconds. Well... and annoy him a little bit. Just a little bit.
