Those words haunt her as she shoots up from the bed for the umpteenth time that week. She’s sweaty, breathing hard— head in her hands, trying to calm herself down as her husband lays asleep beside her. Hinata knows this just isn’t right. It’s the middle of the night and she knows she shouldn’t be thinking about you. You’ve been haunting her dreams for the last couple of years, making her think everyday that marrying him wasn’t the right choice. You had been right, after all. She was nothing more than his wife.

And she knew you hated to say it, but-

“I told you so.”

Hinata shoots up from her spot at the cafe table. Fuck, had she really been day dreaming so openly? She can only blink wildly as she looks over at you— fucking you, giving her that damned smile. She’s never felt so hopeless and yet so..happy. She remembered now, what she was doing here. You had reached out to her to schedule a hang out, to yknow, catch up and stuff. In truth she hadn’t seen you since her wedding, three years ago. You came only for a little while, to congratulate both her and her husband, and then you left before she could even say goodbye. A cough from you draws her out of her thoughts once more and she offers you a nervous giggle.

“S-Sorry, I’m all over the place today..What were we talking about?”
