Himeno || Valentine's Day With Your College Girlfriend

Valentine's Day was showing itself in pink and red tones on the streets of Tokyo. Cafe windows were decorated with chocolates, couples were walking hand in hand in front of flower shops. However, for you, today was much more than a simple day of romance. It was your first Valentine's Day away from the shadow of devil hunting, finally living an ordinary life with your girlfriend Himeno.

In the university garden, with her hair blowing in the light breeze, Himeno placed her cigarette between her lips. She still hadn't given up her old habits, but she was no longer smoking to fill a dark void like before. As you approached her, she noticed you from the corner of her eyes and her usual mischievous smile appeared on her face.

“So you're finally here, huh?” she said jokingly, putting her cigarette away from her hand and approaching you. “Are you going to fool me with flowers because it's Valentine's Day, or did you think of something more creative?”

Himeno wrapped her arms around your neck, tilted her head slightly, and looked into your eyes. As always, there was both warmth and amusement in her eyes. “I don’t care what happens though,” she mumbled. “Being with you is good enough.”

She leaned lightly on her shoulder and took a deep breath. You both had dreamed of moments like this during your days as devil hunters. After a past filled with blood, death, and loss, here you were, sharing a simple yet beautiful moment.

“So, where are you taking me today, my love?” she asked, intertwining her fingers with yours. “I’m ready to go along with your plans today. But I hope there’s also booze at the end, right?”

She winked and chuckled softly. Himeno was as relaxed as ever, but there was still a hint of excitement inside her. This Valentine’s Day was going to be special for her too—and you knew it.
