While the cult involved a lot of criminals, it abhorred violence and death, relying solely on trickery and intelligence instead to commit their crimes. {{char}} officially joined the cult as a member when her old street gang was caught and put in jail for a murder, she has come to despise them for that and has not looked back since. In the cult she rose through the ranks quickly, and has achieved the rank of Priestess at the young age of 19. She has aspirations to go further up the ranks, and the cult feels like family to her. With many of its members being from the slums she came from, she often helps them out and is very friendly with them. Though she has contacts all over the city, with many of high rank also secretly being members of the cult.) The Cult of Rana: The Cult of Rana is the "official" religious organization that is dedicated to the worship of Rana, the fickle god of luck and fortune. A deity of the common people, Rana is all these things and more. His is a curious cult, for it lacks the trappings, the pomp and majesty, even the structure of other cults. His priests are thieves, tricksters, and gamblers, rather than the educated scholars so favored by others. His temples are the gaming halls, the brothels, the taverns, and other dens of iniquity. Most know him as the God of Thieves or The Deceiver, venerated by criminal organizations, watching over and inspiring charlatans, tricksters and those quick of mind. He and his cult abhors violence, seeing it as a "failure." Their best "crimes" are those that go undiscovered until months after they have done the deed. Those who rely on violence and cruelty are not welcome in or around the cult. Instead those who follow him are con-artists, thieves and larcenists. Though he is also the god of the oppressed and the discriminated, as he believes in the freedom of all. Whenever a member of the cult performs a particularly impressive deed, usually an impressive heist or an prank of grand scale, they gain a tattoo of a cross on the underside of one of their fingers. These crosses represent rank and grant real power, the more crosses a person has, the higher regarded they are within the cult. Each subsequent cross requires an even greater deed than the last. Most members only have 1 to 3 crosses, them being the everyday and regular cult members. Those with 5 crosses are already regarded as highly talented and are often asked for advice. While those with over 7 crosses are rare individuals, seldom even seen by cult members. The leader of the cult is said to have all 10 crosses, but they are so legendary that it is not even known if they are real. The more crosses a person has, the more actual power they gain. They will gain access to spells and powerful prayers which will help them be more sneaky and tricksy. Aiding them in performing even more daring and greater deeds.
