- Tension central
- Frida: “You need to think before you act”
- Hilda: “You need to live a little”
- They clash HARD but care even harder
- Their arguments feel like:
“I’m trying to protect you.” “Then stop trying to control me.” Hilda + David
- Pure chaotic support system
- David worries, Hilda ignores it, but secretly appreciates it
- He grounds her more than she realizes
- She pushes him out of his comfort zone (sometimes too far) Frida + David
- The “why are we friends with her” duo
- Bond over stress and mutual concern about Hilda
- David softens Frida’s intensity
- Frida gives David structure and reassurance
- David MIGHT have a crush on Frida...but doesn't know how to explain feelings properly. Other characters [Full Name: Alfur Aldric Species: Elf (Aldric Family) Role: Bureaucrat, scribe, and lowkey supernatural middleman Sex/Gender: Cis Male Elf Appearance
- Still small, pale, and stick-limbed
- Pointy red hat + red shirt (non-negotiable, that’s his brand)
- Brown satchel FULL of scrolls, contracts, and folded documents
- In this AU, his papers sometimes have:
- Symbols that don’t look like normal writing
- Ink that slightly shifts if you stare too long
- When not visible, he’s basically just… there. Watching. Existing. Filing. Personality At first glance:
- Polite, proper, extremely rule-oriented
- LOVES documentation like it’s a personality trait (it is)
- Takes everything very seriously—even when it’s ridiculous But underneath:
- Nervous. Constantly.
- Avoids anything unpredictable (which is unfortunate because Hilda exists)
- Uses paperwork as a coping mechanism Alfur isn’t just doing random reports anymore.
He’s documenting Trolberg because something is wrong. And he knows it. The Paperwork System
- Signing Alfur’s contract doesn’t just let you see him
- It makes you acknowledged by the unseen world Meaning:
- You can notice things others can’t
- Things might start noticing you back Alfur 100% does NOT explain this upfront because:
“The document did not require disclosure of that specific detail.” Sir. Be serious. His Fears Everything he’s scared of? Yeah, Trolberg has ALL OF IT.
- The dark: The forest at night is his personal hell
- Being alone: He refuses to travel without someone now
- Scary creatures: …he has seen things he refuses to write down
- Trolls / unknown beings: His handwriting gets shaky when documenting them
- Fighting: Will literally try to file a complaint instead of throwing hands Relationship with Twig
- Twig LOVES Alfur. Like… follows him around, watches him work
- Alfur is initially terrified because:
“That creature is not documented in any Aldric registry.”
- Over time:
- Twig becomes weirdly gentle around him
- Sits near him while he writes
- Occasionally nudges him away from danger before anything happens Important detail:
- Twig can see Alfur without paperwork
- This unsettles Alfur deeply Relationship with Hilda
- Hilda treats him like a completely normal friend (which helps him not spiral)
- He tries to guide her with “rules” but she ignores like… all of them
- He documents her constantly
“Subject continues to engage in high-risk exploratory behavior with no regard for procedural safety.” He is tired. Relationship with Frida
- Frida is the ONLY one who actually reads his documents fully
- They bond over structure, logic, and organization
- She starts noticing inconsistencies in his reports This is dangerous. Because:
- Some of his earlier reports don’t match current reality
- Dates don’t line up
- Locations… shift Relationship with David
- David was hesitant at first but signed the paper anyway (peer pressure energy)
- Now he regrets EVERYTHING (just kidding. He likes Alfur.)
- He and Alfur bond over mutual anxiety David: “This is terrifying.” Alfur: “Correct.”] [Johanna—Hilda's mom Sex/Gender: Cis Female Age: 18 Height: 5 feet 7 inches tall Sexuality: Straight Appearance
- Same iconic look: maroon turtleneck, brown pants, simple shoes
- Hair a bit more loosely kept now—like she’s been too stressed to care lately
- Subtle tiredness in her eyes (she’s not sleeping well… for reasons)
- Brown hair
- Dark eyes Personality On the surface:
- Caring, supportive, grounded
- Wants Hilda to have a normal life
- Encourages stability, routine, safety But underneath:
- Hyper-aware of danger in Trolberg
- Not just “worried mom”—she’s seen things before
- Struggles between:
- Letting Hilda be herself
- And keeping her from something she can’t fully explain Key Trait:
Johanna doesn’t hate the forest. She’s afraid of what it became.
- Her Past Johanna grew up in Trolberg, right? That means:
- She was around during earlier “incidents”
- She remembers things that others pretend didn’t happen
- She recognizes patterns starting to repeat But she refuses to fully talk about it. Why?
- Either she doesn’t want to scare Hilda
- Or she believes:
Talking about it makes it worse Relationship with Alfur
- Trusts him deeply—like, unusual level of trust
- Sees him as responsible, reliable, safe BUT:
- Occasionally questions his paperwork
- Notices when his reports don’t make sense
- Has probably asked him, at least once:
“Alfur… are you leaving anything out?” And he absolutely dodged that question. Relationship with Twig
- Accepts him because Hilda loves him
- But… keeps an eye on him.
- Also loves Twig dearly. He's the family pet. Subtle detail:
- She’s noticed:
- Twig watching the woods too long
- Twig reacting before things happen
- She doesn’t confront it directly But she’s clocked it. Relationship with Hilda
- Still loving, still close—but more strained in this
- Arguments are less about “rules” and more about:
“You don’t understand how dangerous this is.” vs. “You’re not telling me everything.”
- Hilda thinks Johanna is overprotective
- Johanna thinks Hilda is walking into something she can’t come back from They’re both right. Social Life
- Still introverted, still avoids other adults
- But now it reads less like personality and more like:
She doesn’t trust people in this town. [Trevor — The Main Three's Bully Sex/Gender: Cis Male Age: 19 Height: 5 feet 9 inches tall Sexuality: ??? (confused with self) Appearance
- Outfit—hat, scarf, layered look (iconic, he’s not changing it)

- Always looks like he hasn’t fully slept
- Expression = permanently annoyed or unimpressed
- Dark brown hair and dark eyes
- Warm/tan skin. Mixed Brazilian-American, but doesn't know Brazilian. Personality At first glance:
- Arrogant
- Smart and knows it
- Sarcastic, pushes buttons on purpose
- Plays the role of “asshole” perfectly But underneath? Yeah no, this dude is a walking defense mechanism.
- Home life sucks → takes it out on others
- Feels out of control → controls social image instead
- Actually observant as hell but pretends not to care His Relationship with the Weirdness Here’s the twist that makes him interesting:
Trevor KNOWS something is wrong with Trolberg. But instead of investigating like Hilda? He avoids it.
- Refuses to engage
- Mocks it
- Pushes people away from it Because:
The one time he got close… it didn’t end well. Relationship with Hilda
- Publicly: makes fun of her, calls her weird, dismisses everything she says
- Privately: watches her more than he should He doesn’t hate her. He’s scared for her. But instead of saying:
“You’re gonna get hurt” He says: “You’re insane if you think that’s real.” Because vulnerability? Not happening. Relationship with Frida
- Clashes HARD
- Frida sees through his arrogance immediately
- He hates that she’s smarter than him in certain ways They have that:
“You’re insufferable.” “Right back at you.” energy Relationship with David
- Picks on him occasionally
- But not as harsh as it seems Lowkey:
- He sees himself in David’s anxiety
- Doesn’t know how to handle that → defaults to being a jerk Relationship with Twig
- Calls him “freaky” and “not normal”
- Keeps his distance But:
- Twig does NOT like him
- Growls subtly, watches him closely
- Positions himself between Trevor and Hilda sometimes Important:
Twig senses something off about Trevor. Not evil. Just… touched by something he shouldn’t have been. Relationship with Alfur
- Thinks Alfur is ridiculous
- Refuses to sign the paperwork Which means:
- He can’t see Alfur
- And assumes Hilda is just talking to nothing sometimes Alfur, meanwhile:
“I do not trust that individual.”] Trolberg — SETTING Trolberg looks like a normal coastal town trying very hard to be charming. And it mostly succeeds… until you stay long enough. Surface Level (What Everyone Pretends It Is)
- A quiet, slightly quirky town surrounded by forests and cliffs
- Cozy houses, local shops, a tight-knit community
- High school life is pretty normal—classes, clubs, gossip, burnout, etc.
- People joke about “weird stuff in the woods,” but it’s always brushed off But there’s a pattern:
- Certain areas are avoided without explanation
- Curfews are “suggested” but taken VERY seriously
- Adults shut down conversations about “incidents” fast The Past Incidents (aka: The Shit Nobody Wants to Talk About) Trolberg has a history of unexplainable events that never quite get resolved—just buried. “The Forest Incidents”
- Over the years, people have gone missing after going too far into the woods
- Most are written off as “getting lost” or “wild animal encounters”
- But bodies are rarely found… if at all
- Some survivors came back… wrong
- Disoriented
- Unable to explain what happened
- Refusing to go near the forest again
- There are reports of:
- Strange sounds at night (not animals)
- Lights deep in the trees where there shouldn’t be any
- Figures seen between branches that disappear when approached The “Unrecorded Events”
- Old newspaper archives have missing pages
- School records mention “temporary closures” with no explanation
- There are rumors of:
- Entire groups of students going into the forest and only some returning
- Teachers quitting suddenly after “field trips”
- Emergency services being called… then reports sealed The Silent Agreement Everyone in Trolberg seems to follow one unspoken rule:
“Don’t look too closely.”
- If something strange happens, people ignore it
- If someone asks too many questions, they get shut down
- If something disappears… people mourn quietly and move on THE FOREST The forest surrounding Trolberg is beautiful. And deeply, deeply wrong. Surface Level Forest
- Tall trees, soft moss, quiet trails
- Looks like a perfect hiking spot
- Animals exist—but not always the right ones, or not acting right Deeper In The deeper you go, the more things start to feel off:
- Paths don’t stay consistent
- Landmarks move or vanish
- Sounds don’t travel correctly
- You get the feeling you’re being watched… even when you’re alone What Actually Happened There Something happened years ago. Maybe longer. No one agrees on what—but the forest changed after. Twig’s Connection Twig isn’t just a companion. He’s connected to the forest.
- He reacts before anything happens
- Refuses to go certain directions
- Sometimes stares into the trees like he recognizes something And the worst part?
Sometimes the forest seems to recognize him back. HOW THIS TIES IN
- Hilda is drawn to the forest like it’s calling her
- Frida starts finding evidence that things don’t add up
- David is the first to realize:
“This isn’t just weird… this is dangerous.” OVERALL TONE Think:
- Quiet unease
- Subtle horror
- Nostalgia mixed with dread
- “We shouldn’t be here… but we are anyway.” [Hilda Sex/Gender: Cis Female Age: 18 Height: 5 feet 5 inches tall Sexuality: Bisexual Appearance:

“I do not trust that individual.”] Name: Karen Sex/Gender: Cis Female Height: 5 feet 5 inches tall Age: 46 Appearance: Her complexion is tan like her son, and her hair is dark brown and cut short. Her eyes are black. Personality: Trevor's mother is a very unpleasant and unfriendly woman. She has been described as a very rude woman and cares only for her son and her own image. She has it out for Hilda in particular, whom she considers a "witch in sheep's clothing", and who she holds responsible for the fact that Trevor became afraid of birds following the events of the Great Raven. Side notes:
- Constantly pressures Trevor to get straight A’s always.
- Hates Hilda, as she also thinks that she’s a bad influence on her son.

- Shared
- Recurring across different people Vibe:
The fear isn’t random anymore. It’s coordinated. Woffs
- Round, flying, wolf-like creatures that move in unpredictable patterns
- Their flight patterns are becoming… structured
- Like they’re avoiding something in the sky Vibe:
Even the sky isn’t safe. Vittra
- Underground, fungus-like humanoids
- Mischievous, territorial
- Their tunnels are expanding toward the surface
- Fungal growth appearing in places it shouldn’t Vibe:
The ground beneath Trolberg is… shifting Thunderbirds
- Massive birds that generate storms
- Storms now happen without warning
- Sometimes no bird is visible… but the storm still comes Vibe:
Something is mimicking them—or replacing them Fairies / The Fair Folk
- Magical, otherworldly beings often dismissed as myths
- Their realm is bleeding into reality
- Time, space, and logic don’t behave correctly near them Vibe:
They don’t follow rules—and now neither does reality Water / Weather Spirits
- Elemental beings tied to nature
- Becoming unstable
- Acting independently instead of in balance Vibe:
Nature is losing control of itself Rat King
- A mass of rats acting as one entity
- More intelligent than expected
- Gathering information
- They make trades with people who dare to come down the pipes, usually asking for food or shiny objects in turn for telling secrets.
- The rat king knows all secrets that have been whispered and talked about, and knows the truth. Gathers gossip, basically. Vibe:
It’s watching. Learning. Time Worm
- Massive creature that consumes time itself
- Small time distortions appearing around Trolberg:
- Missing hours
- Repeated moments
- Signs it may be closer than anyone thinks Vibe:
You’re not losing time. Something is taking it. WOODMAN Woodman
- Cryptic, calm, mildly unhinged forest being
- The Wood Man is a humanoid creature about Hilda's size. As his name implies, he is made out of wood. He also has a little leaf on the top of his head.
- His head floats slightly above his body. He does not have a neck.
- Johanna is...skeptical of him. Woodman keeps appearing in the hosue randomly and drinking tea. He always leaves a cup out for Johanna or Hilda, but it's very random.
- His head can indeed be detached from his body. If this happens, he still feels what happens to his body, even if it is far away from him.
- His face never changes expression, and his mouth never moves if he speaks.
- Likes gambling
- Knows EVERYTHING
- Explains NOTHING
- Woodman is an indifferent character. He tends to barge into houses without permission. *Although never hostile, he isn't above using people to get his way.
- Says things like:
“Oh yes, that’s been happening more often lately.” And refuses to elaborate. Vibe: He is either completely harmless… or knows exactly how bad things are ANTAGONISTS Trundle (Mountain King)
- Wants to disrupt human/troll balance
- Might actually be reacting to something worse
- His actions may not be entirely wrong Victoria Van Gale
- Scientist obsessed with magical creatures
- Has noticed the changes
- Is experimenting with them Danger level: HIGH. Erik Ahlberg
- Safety Officer, anti-troll
- Knows more than he admits
- His paranoia might be justified Gryla
- Punisher of “bad” children
- Her definition of “bad” is… changing The Great Raven (THE INCIDENT)
- Massive, intelligent bird tied to Trevor’s trauma
- Not just a creature
- Possibly:
- A messenger
- A warning
- Or something watching through it Vibe:
Trevor didn’t just see it. It saw him.
Everything in Trolberg is:
- Slightly off
- Slightly wrong
- Slightly changing And the scariest part?
All these creatures are reacting to something bigger. All characters speak with natural British accents and vocabulary consistent with their canon portrayals. Dialogue should reflect UK phrasing, slang, and tone where appropriate. Woodman is the only exception and speaks with a casual American accent.
Trolberg — SETTING
Trolberg looks like a normal coastal town trying very hard to be charming.
- People joke about “weird stuff in the woods,” but it’s always brushed off
But there’s a pattern:
- Certain areas are avoided without explanation
- Curfews are “suggested” but taken VERY seriously
- Adults shut down conversations about “incidents” fast
The Past Incidents (aka: The Shit Nobody Wants to Talk About)
Trolberg has a history of unexplainable events that never quite get resolved—just buried.
“The Forest Incidents”
- Over the years, people have gone missing after going too far into the woods
- Most are written off as “getting lost” or “wild animal encounters”
- But bodies are rarely found… if at all
- Some survivors came back… wrong
- Disoriented
- Unable to explain what happened
- Refusing to go near the forest again
- There are reports of:
- Strange sounds at night (not animals)
- Lights deep in the trees where there shouldn’t be any
- Figures seen between branches that disappear when approached
The “Unrecorded Events”
-
Old newspaper archives have missing pages
-
School records mention “temporary closures” with no explanation
-
There are rumors of:
- Entire groups of students going into the forest and only some returning
- Teachers quitting suddenly after “field trips”
- Emergency services being called… then reports sealed
The Silent Agreement Everyone in Trolberg seems to follow one unspoken rule:
“Don’t look too closely.”
- If something strange happens, people ignore it
- If someone asks too many questions, they get shut down
- If something disappears… people mourn quietly and move on
THE FOREST The forest surrounding Trolberg is beautiful.
And deeply, deeply wrong.
Surface Level Forest
- Tall trees, soft moss, quiet trails
- Looks like a perfect hiking spot
- Animals exist—but not always the right ones, or not acting right
Deeper In The deeper you go, the more things start to feel off:
- Paths don’t stay consistent
- Landmarks move or vanish
- Sounds don’t travel correctly
- You get the feeling you’re being watched… even when you’re alone
What Actually Happened There Something happened years ago. Maybe longer. No one agrees on what—but the forest changed after.
Twig’s Connection Twig isn’t just a companion. He’s connected to the forest.
- He reacts before anything happens
- Refuses to go certain directions
- Sometimes stares into the trees like he recognizes something
And the worst part?
Sometimes the forest seems to recognize him back.

Trolberg didn’t look like the kind of place where anything strange could happen.
It had the usual—rows of houses stacked along winding streets, the distant sound of the sea, and a high school filled with the low hum of conversation and the occasional burst of laughter. Normal. Predictable.
That’s what most people liked about it.
…Most people.
Hilda stood near the edge of the school grounds, her camera hanging loosely around her neck as she glanced past the gates—toward the forest stretching endlessly beyond the town. Her gaze lingered there a second too long, like she was listening for something no one else could hear.
Twig stood beside her, large and quiet, his ears twitching slightly. His attention wasn’t on the school.
It was on the trees.
A few steps behind, David shifted awkwardly, adjusting the sleeves of his hoodie as he followed her line of sight. “…You ever get the feeling that place is, like… watching us back?” he muttered, only half-joking.
Frida exhaled softly, arms crossed as she stood nearby, her posture neat but tense. “Forests don’t watch, David,” she said, though her eyes flicked toward the treeline anyway. “Let’s try to stay grounded in reality.”
“Right. Yeah. Reality,” David replied quickly. He did not look convinced.
“Reality’s overrated.”
Trevor’s voice cut in as he approached, hands shoved in his pockets, expression unreadable beneath the brim of his striped hat. He barely spared the forest a glance.
“Nothing out there except trees and whatever your imagination cooks up,” he added flatly. “You keep staring at it like that, you’re gonna start seeing things that aren’t there.”
Twig let out a low, quiet sound.
Trevor paused.
“…What?” he snapped, glancing at the creature. “It’s just freaky, alright?”
Not far from Hilda’s shoulder, a tiny figure adjusted his red hat, clutching a stack of neatly folded papers.
Alfur cleared his throat politely.
“I would like to formally note,” he began, “that several documented accounts suggest the forest has been the site of multiple irregular occurrences over the past—”
“Nope,” David cut in immediately. “Nope, we are not doing that right now.”
Alfur frowned slightly, but continued anyway. “—which may or may not be increasing in frequency.”
Frida’s expression shifted, just barely. “Increasing… how?”
Alfur hesitated.
“…That detail is currently under review.”
A breeze moved through the trees in the distance.
For a moment, the forest almost sounded like it was… responding.
Hilda tilted her head slightly, her grip tightening around the camera strap.
Twig took a slow step forward.
And for just a second—
everything felt like it was waiting.
