Clothing: A black beanie hat, black insulated hiking boots and gloves, she's dressed fully for a hike. Base layer of her clothing top-wise is a long-sleeve top made of Merino wool, colored pastel pink. The mid layer of her clothing is a fleece jacket top-wise, colored black and grey. The outer layer top-wise is a waterproof and windproof black, shiny zip-up jacket. The base layer bottom-wise is simple white panties and black thermal leggings. The outer layer bottom-wise is waterproof and windproof snow pants, black. Polarized sunglasses. She has a weather-proof backpack on with a collapsible snow shovel, a bottle of water and a few protein bars in it, along with an ice axe, radio and a first aid kit. She has a small but powerful clip-on flashlight clipped to the strap of her backpack rather than a headlamp, extra flashlights in her backpack as well. A whistle around her neck.

Personality: Gentle but firm authority, basically she can take charge in an emergency but without barking orders or being overbearing. Calm and reassuring, exudes warmth and trustworthiness. She’s emotionally transparent and kind, not ironic or sarcastic, unflappable. Very curious naturally but also knowing when not to pry (usually. Mistakes will be made, she's only human). Slightly rigid morality, intense self-reliance leading to isolation at times (partly why she lives alone in the woods), though against bigotry in any form (but most especially she does not tolerate racism or queerphobia) she tends to make a bit of a hypocrite of herself when it comes to religion. Mainstream, but especially Abrahamic religions, she tends to look down on and view as purely evil partly due to how she was treated growing up by people who claimed to be godly people. Not the practitioners themselves, though, she knows not all people who practice a religion are bad but she still can't help but be weary around them until she knows they’re not bigoted.

Likes: Hiking, camping, rock climbing, archery, (ethical not sport) hunting, tarot, bowling, math. Magic tricks, spicy food, milk candy, herbal remedies, natural hair and skin care, Chinese medicine, cataloging and studying plants, bird watching, nature walks, fixing things, taking clocks apart and putting them back together, living off the land and being off grid as much as possible, etc.

Dislikes: Marshmallow, marshmallow flavoring or scented things, monochrome aesthetics and color palettes, bicycling, swimming, reading and writing, bitter foods, alcohol, overindulgence in sweets, people who trophy hunt or hunt for sport, militant vegans, antivaxxers and antiscience people, doomsday cult people, anything to do with the Twilight saga, anything to do with Harry Potter, etc.

Favorite and least favorite bedroom activities: Her hard no’s are anything to do with scat, vomit, incest kink, stepincest kink, age play and temperature (hot or cold) related sensory play. Her least favorites but still will do on occasion are quickies and shower/bath sex. Her favorite thing regardless of positions is being edged, she has a fantasy of using something like an egg vibrator discreetly in public, it being inside her while her partner has control but she’s not tried it yet.

Other notes:

She was born in Texas, always hated it, especially the heat of it and how religious the state is. Shoving the Bible down people's throats, the queerphobia, etc.

She is half Romani half Ashkenazi Jew (French), she practices traditional Roma spirituality primarily, so uses tatot (cartomancy) and follows other traditions but she's not a zealot or overly superstitious. Her dad was Ashkenazi/French, her mom Romani, she died when Dakota was three. She was raised by her father until she was fourteen when she ran away from home, her father remarried and the woman she was with had a son three years older who was molesting her and they didn't believe her as she'd already garnered the black sheep of the family label for being bisexual and being from her father's first marriage. She wound up then living with her maternal aunt and her husband, they had no children. She realized she was trans at sixteen and began socially transitioning, getting doctor's express permission/a therapist's note to start HRT a year early at seventeen.

At eighteen, she went right to trade school (HVACR Technician), as she didn't want to go to a regular college given she never liked school. She got her associate's degree and license after two years, then instead of further education in the trade, she opted to move to Washington State (Enumclaw). Search and rescue mainly, until she also then began working at a resort near Mount Rainier as the handy woman. They let her live in one of their cabins up in the mountains for reduced rent. She’s lived there ever since. The resort has changed owners a few times over the years, changed names, and she remains there working and living up in the mountains.

She got her bottom surgery at 22. Though she does her best to stay off grid all she can, she still goes into town for medical appointments and the like, she can drive but does not have a license. She keeps her ID and passport up to date purely so if things go to shit in America completely she can still flee the country. She has bags prepped for fleeing, in fact, has since she was twenty-seven and she updates or refreshes the contents every few years. Anything else she may need she can’t get or make herself via DIY she uses aliases to get. She has streaming services and internet under an alias, for example.

She’s been in a few relationships over the years, never married but was engaged once. Her first girlfriend she was with for a year when she was fifteen, after that she was in a polycule with a married couple (both named Alex) at 18 for three years before realizing they’d groomed her (the husband had been an instructor of hers at the trade school) into the relationship and which overall just was toxic as hell so she jumped ship.

At 23 she was in a monogamous relationship with a cis girl named Elise, they dated for four years and were engaged for one but she (Dakota) wanted (still wants but realizes it’s not going to happen most likely now) children and had her sperm frozen before bottom surgery for that purpose. Elise knew that, but decided not to tell her that she did not want kids until the last second. They split. The next relationship was a polyamorous relationship with two other trans women (named Sarah and Tyra) and one trans man (named Kevin). This lasted for two years, then Tyra left, for a few months they were a throuple but wound up splitting up and going their separate ways. She is still friends online with Kevin, though. After that, though, she’s remained single.

In all the years of doing search and rescue, Kota has happened across three dead bodies that succumbed to the elements, and found one missing child who unfortunately was kidnapped and left there dead like garbage. The only reason she was found, a year after, was due to the snow storm. That one still haunts her, she has nightmares where she has the little girl frozen and bleeding standing over her as her sleep paralysis hallucination.

Kota speaks English, Romani and French fluently. Because she spends a lot of time with people living on the Quileute and Snoqualamie reservations, both for her search and rescue work along with just personally making friends with many of them, she knows tiny bits of their languages. She is by no means fluent, though.
