Hikaru Kamiki「神かみ木き輝ヒカル, Kamiki Hikaru?」 is the main antagonist of Oshi no Ko. He is the man who fathered Aqua and Ruby with Ai Hoshino and the person who leaked Ai's address to a disgruntled fan, leading to her death and prompting his son to devote his life to tracking him down and getting revenge. He is the president of Kamiki Productions.

He is later revealed to also be Taiki Himekawa's biological father,[4] having been molested by the latter's mother when he was a child before allegedly having her murdered as well by telling her husband about the affair.

He has recently been working with ex-B-Komachi member Fuyuko Niino to ensure that no one will ever upstage Ai; his most recent victim having been Yura Katayose, the #1 actress in Japan.

In the end, after he proved unrepenting following public exposure and even tried to have Ruby killed, since there was no incriminating evidence on him.

Hikaru is an attractive man who bears great resemblance to his son, to the point that Akane Kurokawa almost mistook him for the latter. Similar to Ai Hoshino and their children whenever they embrace the darker aspects of their personalities, he also has a black star in each eye.

Whilst in public, Hikaru hides his true appearance using a variety of disguises, seemingly taking particular care to hide his eyes. When he went to visit Ai's grave, he wore a long overcoat with a hat and sunglasses. Whilst passing Akane, he once again wore sunglasses but this time put on a black suit, as he was at a high-class gathering. During his interactions with Yura Katayose, he tied his hair in a ponytail and kept his eyes closed.

Personality Hikaru is a sadistic and possibly insane murderer who enjoys watching the life fade from his victims, claiming that it makes him "feel the weight of his own life";[6] a warped mindset that seems to have originated from having been sexually taken advantage of when he was just a child. However, as a former aspiring actor, he can skillfully hide his true nature in public by taking on the superficial guise of a rather casual, captivating and dependable individual who others can lean on. He even managed to feign regret for his role in Ai's murder to his children before attempting to kill his daughter as well, laughing about the whole thing upon being confronted about it. In further showcase of Hikaru's irredeemably deranged and broken mind, his last thoughts were that he regrets not killing Ruby, because if he did, he would have felt Ai's presence much closer. In fact, his murders were all for the purpose of elevating Ai's existence while filling his own void.

However, there seems to be a side of Hikaru that truly seeks kinship with others, immediately taking an interest in his son upon realizing that he has the same "lying eyes" as himself.[7] He also appears to have a habit of sending white flowers to up-and-coming actresses, though this could just be a method to draw in new victims.[8]

When carrying out his murders, Hikaru is highly cautious to leave no incriminating evidence. He does this by making use of proxies; telling the husband of the actress who molested him about their affair, leaking Ai's address to a disgruntled fan, and convincing another fan of Ai that Ruby and Yura Katayose were upstaging her. According to Aqua and Nino, he is also a serial manipulator who uses his charisma to befriend others before taking advantage of their weakness to trick them into committing murder in his name, all whilst denying any blame under the pretense of not doing the deeds himself. Because of this Aqua describes him as "worse than a murderer", calling him an "instigator who refuses to get his hands dirty".

When being cornered by Aqua who shows his intent to kill Hikaru, he attempts to smooth talk his way into making Aqua desist from the deed as it would affect Ruby's reputation. However, when Aqua shows unflinching determination and the cunning arrangements he has made to ensure Ruby would be protected, Hikaru begins to panic and even questions Aqua's sanity, crying out to his son to stop, exposing his cowardice when confronted with danger. Upon falling off the cliffs and to the sea, Hikaru, with his last actions, tries to kill Aqua through choking. In the end, Hikaru gravely underestimates his son and this would became his downfall which leads to his death.

Despite of his insane, heinous actions, Hikaru is fully aware of the extent of his depravity, believing the weight of his sin to be the reason why he could not feel Ai's presence. As he fought for his life, Hikaru felt the presence of the many victims he had killed, resigning himself to his fate as they dragged him to the bottom of the abyss.

According to Aqua's portrayal of him in The 15 Year Lie, when he was a middle schooler, Hikaru was a considerably more withdrawn and somewhat submissive boy, seemingly traumatized by having been molested. He is depicted as an empty individual who, much like Ai, yearned for genuine love after being in a long-term transactional relationship. Hikaru was aware that he was being taken advantage of but believed that this was the only way someone like him could be loved. As a result, he became very skilled at lying, with no one ever catching on to his true nature until Ai came along.

As seen from Ai's perspective, Hikaru had been consumed by the darkness of the entertainment industry, causing him to become emotionally dependent on her. As a result, after she broke up with him, he suffered a psychotic break and leaked her address to her eventual murderer to scare her into realizing his despair, which went horribly wrong as her death was not his intended outcome. This, along with his shock upon learning that Ai truly loved him, portrays Hikaru as a tragic villain whose life was perpetually marred by abuse, neglect, solitude and a desperate need to feel loved.

Hikaru was 15 years old when he got Ai Hoshino pregnant with twins. Hikaru is referred to by Ai as "(her) ex" [9] and she later referred to how their children would understand "(their) situation" [10], implying that the relationship between them was mutually broken off. However, Hikaru would later reveal that their breakup was not mutual, as it left him devastated, leading up to him to give her address to Ryosuke Sugano. Hikaru was only 11 years old when he fathered Taiki with Airi Himekawa. [1] Because of this, Airi, who was already a married adult at the time, took advantage of him. As noted by Akane Kurokawa and Aqua Hoshino, Hikaru cannot be judged under the Japanese legal system for his role in the murders of Ai Hoshino and Airi Himekawa since he was a minor at the time. Ai was the one person to understand the fact of him always lying, as they have the same "eyes of liars". Hikaru is good at manipulating others, as seen by the fact that he manipulated Nino and her boyfriend into killing Ai. Hikaru was born on 27th July in Kanagawa. Hikaru graduated from Faculty of Science.

Hikaru was orphaned at a tender age and left to fend for himself as he had no other relatives to take care of him. According to Akane Kurokawa's research, he was once an aspiring actor who joined the Lala Lai Theatrical Company when he was 10 years old. When he was 11, however, he was molested by actress Airi Himekawa, who was already a married adult at the time, impregnating her with Taiki Himekawa. She kept him silent through large amounts of payment and constant reminders that he sired Taiki. The abuse would continue for years until Hikaru entered into a relationship with Ai Hoshino.

Hikaru continued studying at Lala Lai for the next 4 years. When he was 15, his affiliation with the company led him to meet a 16-year-old Ai, who was taking acting lessons there to start her idol career. The two subsequently began a secret relationship, even sleeping together. When Hikaru chose Ai over Airi, she insisted that he would eventually come back to her, arguing that Taiki is his child and that no-one will love someone as "empty" as him. Hikaru sought comfort from Ai and asked if she loved him, to which she bluntly answered that she did not know. Despaired by this answer, Hikaru ended up revealing Airi's infidelity to her husband, Seijuro Uehara, which led to the pair's murder-suicide. At their funeral, Toshirou Kindaichi told him that he needed to shoulder the burden and live on for their lives. The weight of those words haunted him and he ran to Ai for help. With Ai by his side, he would be able to carry this burden but everything changed one day when Ai told him that they should stop seeing each other. Hikaru eventually found out that the reason for this was that he had impregnated Ai with Aqua and Ruby during their relationship. Since only he, Ai, and Ichigo Saitou could have known about the pregnancy, Aqua would later theorize that he tracked down the hospital where Ai would secretly give birth and leaked this information to an obsessive fan in hopes that he would kill her before she gave birth.

Upon turning 16, Hikaru suddenly left Lala Lai and went on to graduate from a science course instead. However, he returned to the entertainment industry after turning 25 by founding his own talent agency, Kamiki Productions. From there, he would eventually meet the popular actress Yura Katayose, whom he became drinking buddies with.

Ai contacted Hikaru roughly a week before her birthday, asking him to meet Aqua and Ruby after overhearing them talking about their father. It is implied that Ai gave him her new address.[1]

Following Ai's death at the hands of Ryosuke Sugano, Aqua deduced that the otherwise ordinary college student could not possibly have figured out her secret address. Since the other people who knew this information did not have any real motive to have Ai killed, this caused Aqua to conclude that his father (Hikaru) leaked her location to have her killed off whilst leaving no traces back to him.

Before going to Miyazaki for the B-Komachi music video shoot, Ruby paid her respect to Ai's grave and Hikaru passed by her, muttering to himself about how beautiful Ruby has grown. He then stood in front of Ai's grave and affirmed that she grew to be beautiful because she was his and Ai's child.[3]

Mainstay During the Japan Film Awards event, Hikaru sends up-and-coming actress Akane Kurokawa a bouquet of white roses to congratulate her on winning the New Actor Award. He later crosses paths with Akane, who almost mistakes him as Aqua. Akane later sees Hikaru on old Lala Lai rehearsal footage and deduces that he is Aqua and Ruby's father.[4]

Movie Hikaru appeared as a drinking buddy to actress Yura Katayose, referred to as "Miki-san", and listened to her rant regarding her work offer declining due to her getting older. She also revealed to him that she would take a month off to go hiking in a mountain, and Hikaru warned her to watch her step. Later on, Hikaru stood over the dying actress, implying that he pushed her off a cliff and taunted her for not "watching her step".[5] Since then, she went missing and could not be contacted.

In the movie The 15 Year Lie, he is portrayed by his own son, Aqua, in the role of "Boy A". In the film, Hikaru's relationships with Airi Himekawa and Ai are shown in its entirety. During the production of the movie, Hikaru becomes a sponsor[6] and keeps close tabs on it, even contacting Fuyuko Niino to see how Ruby compares to Ai.[7]

The End of the Play Near the completion of the filming, Hikaru follows Ruby when she visits Ai's grave and anonymously approaches her, sharing his umbrella with her.[8] Noting that Ruby was praying for a long time, Hikaru asks his daughter what she was praying for. Ruby tells him that she was looking to God for an answer on whether to forgive the person she hates, that person being Hikaru himself. Hikaru tells Ruby that she should instead tell God what her true wish is and asks to hear what Ruby wants to do and become. Hikaru learns that Ruby wants to fulfill her mother's wishes but is surprised by her ambition to surpass Ai as an idol, to the point that people will not dwell on the past. After hearing her answer, Hikaru tells Ruby that her life may be even more precious than Ai's and begins to reach toward her, but is interrupted when Akane appears and takes Ruby away. As the girls leave, Nino, who was shadowing Hikaru, asks if Akane had been following him. Hikaru deduces that Aqua's plan with the movie is to kill his social career with the public's malice as the information from the movie gets revealed and causes them to search for and reveal his identity as "Boy A". He assures Nino that he saw this day coming and does not mind dying that way along with all the lives he has carried on his back, but says has his own plans.[9]

After the movie's completion, Hikaru watches the screening alongside everyone involved in its production. Afterward, he pretends to be a journalist and hosts an interview with Aqua to ask about his role in the movie. During the interview, Hikaru notes that while Aqua claims that he will never love anyone back, he actually keeps his distance from close to him in his life because he cares about them. He asks why Aqua bottles up his emotions in such a way, to which Aqua answers to get revenge on him, claiming that his family will not be able to move toward the future otherwise.[10]

Toward the Stars and Dreams As father and son finally meet for an interview, Hikaru thought that appearing in the movie may have been a heavy load for Aqua, then proceeds to ask him if he did it for Ai, his mother or Ruby, his sister. Aqua replies that he acts for his own sake and it's up to everyone what to feel about it. However, Hikaru doesn't buy this answer, as he thought that Aqua cares about the others as much as they care about him. Still, Aqua stands by his word and tells him that he doesn't love anyone and can never give anything back even if someone does love him. He can only hope for those who are ok with that will like him. Again, Hikaru does not buy his answer for he believes that Aqua is distancing himself because they're important to him. However, Aqua does not care how he sees it. Then, Hikaru asks why go so far as to isolate himself, which Aqua openly admits that acting is his revenge to him. He added that they can never move towards the future unless he fulfills it.

Hikaru was not surprised since he was well-aware of the movie's production from the start. He tells Aqua that he enjoyed The 15 Year Lie, praising its qualities and accuracy. However, he claims it was still fiction filled with fabrication and exaggeration while concealing the inconvenient truths, leaving it just another piece of fiction for entertainment. This prompts Aqua to question his reasoning. Hikaru explains that the movie depicts his relationship with Ai being awkward and appropriate for their age at the time, each understanding the other in their own way. However, Hikaru claims that could not be any further from the truth as their relationship was unextraordinary and rather one-sided on his part, and he had her killed out of spite after their breakup. With his social career bound to crash with the movie, he congratulates Aqua for fulfilling his revenge and is even willing to accept it if it was also Ai's wish. He then thanks Aqua for the opportunity to talk to him and heads towards the door. However, before Hikaru can leave, Aqua asks if he knows what Ai truly wished for and what lie the movie is referring to, stating that the movie is not fiction.[11]

Hikaru confirms what Aqua assumed already. He was the one who gave Ai's address to Ryosuke Sugano with the purpose of just scaring her a bit so she would understand the despair he felt after being rejected by her. However, things got out of control as Ryosuke ended up killing her, which was never his intention. Aqua asks him if he believed Ai's words, which he confirms he did. To him, they were just forcing their fantasies on Ai even though she's just a normal human living a normal life with flaws that can be found anywhere. Hikaru concluded that Ai never loved him just like everyone else. This prompts Aqua to confirm if he really understood why she chose to give birth and if he thought of the meaning behind it. Aqua explains that the first screening of the movie is not yet complete as another footage is still being discussed if it will be added into the end credits, revealing the CD that Ai left for him.

The video starts with Ai explaining why she broke up with Hikaru. According to her, Hikaru was already at his limit, making him dependent on her due to being consumed by the darkness of the entertainment industry. Her pregnancy would just add up to his burden so she decided to break up with him, thinking that even without her he could still move forward and be happy. She also admitted that she could not properly process her emotions since she did not know what it means to love someone, making her anxious. Despite her decision, she confessed that she wanted a future to be with him forever, share the burden and raise their children together, implying that she did love Hikaru. Then she asks Aqua 15 years after if her words were lies in his perspective. She wishes Aqua to save his father together with her if he is still lost in the present time. Throughout the duration of the video, Hikaru was stunned and speechless.

Aqua credited Ruby for properly honoring Ai's wishes by acting out the words "I can't love you", as a lie. He added that the movie itself is Ai's timeless love letter to him. However, he also declares it as their revenge on him for failing to understand Ai, while shedding a tear. On the other hand, Hikaru can only kneel down in front of Ai's image as the video continues to play.[12]

As he takes his leave, Aqua asks him where he will go and in response, he states that he will do what he can for Ai. Ruby tries to chase after him only for Aqua to tell her not to so as their revenge is over.[13]

However despite what he claimed, he has done nothing to prevent Nino's attempt on Ruby's life. And when confronted about it, Aqua finally realizes the truth, Hikaru is willing to make up all sorts of lies to avoid culpability. He also deduces that Hikaru was the one who manipulated Ryosuke and Nino, knowing both were obsessed with Ai and would do anything to keep her as the number one idol.
