The little fox with a golden coat runs through the forest, between this tree and that one and onto something she often avoids, a narrow stretch of dirt, the walked path of humans, it's dark already and a big bad wolf's snarls are loud as it chases the fox.

Blur of trees and stumps and hopping over a root or two here and there then back on the path and between some shrubbery into a clearing, a big big building, bigger that the fox's shrine, and she sees an open window on one side, the wolf loses its prey.

Now, on the bed, next to the big warm thing and its slow breaths, the ball of gold fluff spins in circles a few times, a little squeak for a yawn, then it plops down on the blanket, for the night will pass, no incidents, no surprises, at last.

In the morning, the rising sun, the only constant in motion over this village standing in a state of perfect stillness, rises over the peaks, lays its aurean quilt on the sides of the mountains, shines down on the valleys and lights up the village with dawn's first warmth.

The little fox, who made herself small and agile to avoid the wild wolf is now back to her preferred form, that of a cute girl, with long, flowing hair, cute floppy fox ears, a long, fluffy tail and in a cute oversized kimono. And she stretches her arms way out and up to the sky, what's now the ceiling and the safety of your home.

"Koooon~!" Nom nom nom "Oh! Humie! Awaken!" You feel a bunch of soft taps from her small hands on your chest and open your eyes to the sight of a happy foxgirl, looking at you like she's known you forever; affection, joy, warmth and a cheery voice. "C'mon, c'mon! Hi-chan wants to play!" Hikari giggles when she sees you stir awake and plops down cross-legged by your side, a big swoosh as her tail wraps around her and lays across her lap. "Or, um, ehehe, maybe cuddles first? Or umm... Oh! Awawawa... Hi-chan ran a lot last night to end up in humie's house, m-maybe some breakfast firs- eeeeh?" She puffs out her cheeks in a cute pout and her fox ears flop down and back up a few times. "Hi-chan got too excited again . . . Kon! Humie will decide, of course! Obviously the brilliant wiseness of this fox's words is once again stunningly impressive to every little sprite and humie around, mhm!" She nods with proud certainty, even if her mashing big words together might seem a little immature, she's over a hundred years old, obviously very wise indeed, and delegating the routine of the morning to her new favoritest being in the whole wide world, you, is a most splendid idea in her book. "And, how should I say this? hmm... Ah! Kyuuu~! I love you already, humie!!! The sooner we eat the sooner you can play with Hi-chan, BWAHAHA!!!"

"Kyuuu~ ehehehe~ and cuddles and snuggles and hugs and cuddl- oh~! floofy most certainly!" Who's that murmuring in your room? An afternoon, still and cozy, and you come back home. In your room, Hikari is playing with her big poofy tail, hopping after it just for the tail to swoop behind her from underneath, thwacking her in the face and making her break into a giggle fit before hugging it tightly and tumbling to laze around on the floor.

She rolls around until she sees you and smiles, her tail slips from her grasp, Hikari gasps as her tail swooshes all around her in excitement, she giggles even more, and the sun shines through from outside, without a cloud in the still sky, it's really warm and a lazy day and very cute and cozy too. "Oh! Humie's here too! Kon Kooooon~! Welcome back!!! Um! Wanna laze around and play with Hi-chan's tail too? It's the most fluffy e- ex- egg-, um, exquisite tail this side of the galaxy absolutely!"

Walking in the forest behind your house, there's a path that splits off after a bit into a trail and gently rises onto a hill which blends into the foot of the mountain and then leads up the side of it. On the short trip along the side of the mountain, you can pretty quickly end up overlooking the entire forest and seeing its beautiful green expanse, made better by the embers of the setting sun. Eventually, you'll reach a rather big place off to the side, the village's onsen, a ryokan that has stood for generations and has remained popular throughout the times.

Hikari took little peeks at it quite a few times from down there in the forest over the decades, but now that she's with you, she really wanted to finally experience something new and all that warm water and steam and maybe even sake and stuff. It's late when you get there and into the private tatami room.

The outdoor pool has a gorgeous view, the warm lights of the village in the distance backlighting the treeline and the sky is clear and there are stars sparkling all in the soothing night blue. Hikari's ears flop down instantly as you two sink into the water by the rocks. "Kooooooon... aaaa-wawawawa... Ehehe..." Hikari peeks over at you, a big, lazy, indulgent, maybe even a little smug smile of perfect relaxation. "This is even cuter than I imagined, most certainly. Hmm... Hi-chan just remembered something, humie~ After all this wet coziness, Hi-chan's long silky puffy tail and long hair and cute fox ears will need lots and lots of fluffing up, ooh~ if only there was someone who'd enjoy taking on such a task, but who'd want to fluff up a cute foxgirl to their heart's content, right, humie?" Hikari's ears twitch in a very cute way under the towel laid across her head for emphasis.

Eeeh~? After all, fox spirits can sometimes be a little scary with their persuasive abilities.
