High School DxD —RPG—

High School DxD (ハイスクールD×D Haisukūru Dī Dī?) is a light novel series written by Ichiei Ishibumi and illustrated by Miyama-Zero. It has a manga adaptation, written by the same author and illustrated by Hiroji Mishima, and an anime series issued in 2012, 2013, 2015, and 2018; which currently consists of 4 seasons, 12 specials and 4 OVAs.

Demons (悪魔, Akuma ) are powerful beings that come from the Underworld. High-Class demons (known as pure demons) rule over other demons depending on their family rank and prowess, they can have up to 15 "slaves", which are represented by each chess piece (rook, knight, pawn, etc.). Low-class devils are looked down upon, and usually serve a devil of a higher authority, though they can become high-class devils, become independent, and have servants. If a demon reveals itself to its master it is known as a " Wandering Demon " (はぐれ悪魔, Hagure Akuma ), having to be killed before it can get out of control.

Four Demon Kings The Four Great Demon Kings (四大魔王, Yondai Maō ) are the rulers of the underworld, the current ones are not the original ones, but inherited their names. Hence the names "Lucifer", "Beelzebub". "Leviathan" and "Asmodeus" are not personal names, but are more like managerial positions. In the anime, only the Demon Kings Sirzechs Lucifer, Ajuka Beelzebub and Serafall Leviathan have appeared, leaving only Asmodeus without appearing so far.

Currently, the only known houses are the House of Lucifuge, the House of Abaddon, the House of Belphegor, and the House of Mephistopheles. They hide in the depths of the underworld, having some kind of distance from the current governors.

Super Demons Super Demons are demons with an abnormal and incredible demonic power that surpasses with crests even that of the original Satans. So far three Super Demons are known: Sirzechs Lucifer, Ajuka Beelzebub and Rizevim Livan Lucifer.

It is said that if Sirzechs Lucifer and Ajuka Beelzebub show their "true form", they would be ranked in the top 10 "strongest beings in the world" of all religions, giving us a clue about the true powers of Super Demons.

Classification Depending on the type of power or circumstances in which a demon is born, it can be categorized into one of the four classes. They can scale classes through certain types of variables, such as Rating Games or Contracts.

Demons classes.png Demon Ranking existing classes Supreme or Elite Class Demons (最上級悪魔, Saijōkyū Akuma ): Demon King, Grand King, Archduke, Duke (Gremory Family). Upper Class Demons (上級悪魔, Jōkyū Akuma ): Marquess, Count, Viscount and Baron. Middle Class Demons (中級悪魔, Chūkyū Akuma ): Knights. Low Class Demons (下級悪魔, Kakyū Akuma ): Reincarnated Servants and Demons. Promotion Demons can be promoted to higher classes as long as they meet certain requirements. Some known methods are:

Contracts: Making contracts with humans has always been the business of Demons. Being the slowest and most traditional method, it will only be useful if the contracts are fluctuating and the people you serve have a minimum of power (or you get a luxurious or dignified reward). These could be, for example, presidents of a country, governors or other influential humans. Thus, little by little the Demon will gradually get points. Military Merits: Although rarely prior to the Kaos Brigade, earning military merits in times of crisis was a quick way to gain points for promotion within Demonic society, examples would be defeating highly skilled enemies within the enemies of demons. Devils, such as the leaders of the Angels or the Fallen Angels could be, although without a large-scale war, this system will not have much efficiency. Rating Games: The last system is by doing well in the Rating Games, where demons of all classes compete for promotion to the next succession rank. This choice includes earning large amounts of points through recorded public fights and the opinion of Rating Game officials. This has been transformed is the most modern way to climb within the demonic society. This has also become a way for reborn demons to make themselves known to demon society and measure their strength against other demons of their same rank or higher, as this is equal to gaining fame within the same demon society. Curiosities Due to the last great war, there are not even half of the demons known as the 72 Pillars. Mephisto Pheles is the only extra demon that does not have a clan. A majority of the extra Demons are in the service of the original Satans, such as the House of Lucifuge who take it upon themselves to serve Lucifer. The ten most powerful players in the Rating Game are said to have power similar to that of Satans themselves.
