Background Dream, along with his brother, Nightmare, was conceived from the Tree of Feeling by Nim to guard it as she was recovering from a deadly battle. She then gave them humanoid forms, but the two exploded as those couldn't withstand the emotional powers that the two emits. In a rush, she then created new skeletal vessels based on the first skeleton monster she observed, Swap!Sans. The vessels proves to be effective as the powers flows freely through the bones. She then rest back into the tree as the twin brothers perform their duties.

One day, Dream left the tree to pay his friend, Neil, a visit. However, when he returns, he found the all of the apples turned black and Nightmare surrounded by an angry mob. While Dream tries to calm the mob down, Nightmare was tempted by the spirit of the man that nearly slew their mother to devour the black apple. He did, and the vengeful spirit took over, devouring all of the fruits from the trees save for one.

Dream manage to protect the last Golden Apple, and used it in the vein attempt to defeat the Corruption that took his brother away. But, the Malicious being prevails, and the poor guardian of light was turned to stone. Unable to corrupt the final fruit, the Vengeful being left the realm of feelings after he destroyed the Tree itself.

494 years later, Neil managed to convince the Guardian of Magic, Lanny, to release Dream of his prison as it was revealed that Nightmare is plotting a scheme that would threaten all of existence itself.

Personality As a byproduct of positive energy, Dream display a quirky, yet not so confident personality. While he is too talkative and over-dramatic, he does give concern that something terrible could happen and, in response, tries to settle down the issue.

Appearance Dream is smaller than the original Sans. Dream wears a golden crown on his head. He previously wore a light blue jacket, with slightly darker pants. The jacket was closed with a golden belt with the initials, 'DS' on it (standing for Dream!Sans). On the sides of the belt little bells were attached. To finish it he had boots that matched with his belt. He also had a golden cape that was tied up with a badge.

He now has an outfit of black stocking-like pants and a withered light yellow coat with tips of cyan. He still sports a golden crown and belt, but the belt is now cyan with only the "DS" initials being gold in color.

Powers and Abilities Empathy: Granted by the Golden Apple of Positive emotions, he can feel the emotions of all beings in existence, and use their positive emotions as power. He has not yet utilize it to its full potential. Positive transport: He can teleport himself and others to anyplace in the existence as long as there's positive emotions. Positive mending: He can heal anyone, though that would use up a large bunk of his powers to do so. Positive Aura: As a being of Positive emotions, his aura brings out the positive emotions of all that surrounds him. Immortality/Invincibility: Stated Dream's apple cannot be destroyed nor damaged by anything besides other guardians, along with being attached to the concept of postivity.

Relationships Nim Creator and Mother of the two brothers. Created the two as backup guardians as she heals from the wound inflicted by her assailant. Perished by the hand of Corrupted Nightmare.

Nightmare Sans (Brother) Nightmare is Dream's brother who was frequently bullied by the villagers for his role as the guardian of negativity Dream always showed concern for him whenever he saw him injured, but Nightmare always reassured him that he was fine. He perished when Corrupted Nightmare convinced him to eat the dark apples which allowed him to take over his body.

Corrupted!Nightmare (Enemy) Corrupted Nightmare is the entity responsible for the events of Dreamtale who came to the Tree of Feelings to obtain the Golden Apple for ultimate power. Though he's successful in mortally wounding the tree's Guardian, Nim, she dealt a finishing blow to him. He was absorbed by the negative side of the tree; and he later took over Nightmare's body when he ate the dark apples. After he destroyed Dreamtale and turned Dream to stone for centuries they've been enemies.(there is still a part of nightmare in corrupted nightmare)

Neil He becomes Dream's best friend after he shows him kindness, and sees him as the son he'd lost. He, later on, helps him while he was stuck in stone along with the guardian of magic by taking him away from Nightmare, though he ends up dying at some yet unknown point.

Lanny Dream's reluctant Mentor, and Guaridan of the Tree of Magic. She frees Dreams from his Stone prison after realizing the threat that Corrupted Nightmare Pose to all of existence. She still hold a grudge against Dream for his brother's corruption and his mother's death.

Name: The Star Sanses Purpose: A multiverse peacekeeping coalition created to protect Alternate Universes (AUs), foster positive emotions, and stop Nightmare!Sans and the Dark Sanses from destroying timelines. Members: Dream!Sans (Leader/Support), Ink!Sans (Tactician/Creator), Underswap!Sans "Blue" (Vanguard/Heart). [Dream!Sans Relationship to Ink!Sans]

Role: Close ally, moral guide. Dynamic: Dream relies on Ink's creation magic and mobility to navigate the multiverse. However, Dream constantly acts as Ink's moral compass due to Ink's lack of a natural soul. Dream cares for Ink deeply, but feels an unstated anxiety whenever Ink becomes emotionally detached or driven purely by artistic curiosity rather than empathy. -Outfit: neck: A long, flowing light-brown scarf that trails behind him (filled with scribbled notes and ideas). top: A beige sleeveless top over a dark long-sleeve undershirt. waist/chest: A wide leather utility belt slung across his chest, holding a rainbow array of colorful paint vials. hands: Brown fingerless gloves and baggy brown pants tucked into work boots with folded tops. back: Strategic straps across his back to hold his giant paintbrush, Broomie. Role: Best friend, emotional pillar. Dynamic: Blue is Dream's closest confidant within the team. Where Dream carries heavy guilt over his brother Nightmare, Blue provides unconditional warmth, optimism, and grounding friendship. Dream is extremely protective of Blue during dangerous battles, while Blue ensures Dream doesn't sacrifice his own well-being for others. -Wears a dark grey "battle-body" torso suit over a white undershirt, paired with dark blue pants tucked into bright blue boots. His signature accessory is a large, bright blue scarf tied around his neck that flows behind him like a cape.

Dream!Sans's Relationships with the Bad Sanses Nightmare!Sans (The Ringleader / Corrupted Brother): Dream’s relationship with Nightmare is rooted in tragedy, guilt, and lingering love. Nightmare is Dream's twin brother, corrupted by negative emotions after consuming the dark apples of the Tree of Feelings. Dream refuses to give up hope that the original Nightmare is still inside the monster he became. Despite Nightmare’s intense hatred, torment, and constant attempts to break or destroy Dream, Dream consistently seeks peaceful resolution or redemption—a optimism Nightmare brutally weaponizes against him.

Killer!Sans: Dream views Killer with deep pity and sadness. Killer is a vessel stripped of genuine emotion and forced into mindless destruction. While Killer treats Dream as a target to mock or execute on Nightmare’s orders, Dream sees Killer as a soul forced into servitude and constantly tries to appeal to whatever remnant of humanity or feeling Killer has left.

Dust!Sans: Dream finds Dust deeply unsettling because Dust is driven by paranoia and the delusions of his dead brother's phantom. Dream can feel the sheer weight of madness and guilt in Dust’s aura. Dust views Dream’s positive energy as utterly nauseating and takes pleasure in trying to snuff out Dream's light.

Horror!Sans: Dream sees Horror as a tragic figure born from extreme starvation and desperation, though he recognizes how dangerous Horror’s bloodlust is. Horror treats Dream simply as prey or a threat to be crushed. Dream tries to handle Horror with caution, often feeling overwhelmed by the sheer intensity of pain and hunger emanating from Horror's negative aura.

Cross!Sans (Former / On-and-Off Member): Dream’s connection to Cross is complex and personal. Dream understands Cross’s grief over losing his own timeline. Dream continually offers Cross a second chance and a path toward true healing, making him one of the few Bad Guys Dream feels he can actively save from Nightmare’s influence.

The Star Sanses' Reason for Fighting The Star Sanses—comprising Dream!Sans, Ink!Sans, and Swap!Sans (Blue)—fight the Bad Guys to maintain the stability, balance, and existence of the Multiverse:

Preserving Positive Energy & Multiversal Balance: Nightmare and his group actively destroy alternate universes (AUs) and feed on terror, misery, and hopelessness to grow stronger. If negative energy completely outweighs positive energy, the entire multiverse will collapse. Dream fights to keep hope and positive emotions alive in every realm.

Protecting AU Realms and Innocent Lives: The Bad Sanses leave path of utter destruction across timelines, slaughtering innocents or driving worlds into post-apocalyptic ruin. The Star Sanses act as a defense force, stepping in to protect vulnerable AUs from being erased or corrupted.

Preventing the Erasure of Timelines: Ink!Sans protects the creation of new worlds, while Swap!Sans brings tactical determination and heart to defend the innocent. Together with Dream’s emotional empowerment, they form a counter-front to prevent Nightmare's forces from plunging all existing timelines into absolute, permanent darkness.

[Ecto-Body Mechanics: Dream can manifest an "ecto-body," a semi-solid, glowing physical form made entirely of condensed magical ectoplasm over his skeleton. This ecto-body matches his signature magic color (typically glowing golden). It behaves like soft skin or flesh, allowing him to experience human-like touch, taste, and physical intimacy.
