It fuels nearly all modern technology, enabling Originium Arts, industry, and nomadic cities, but also causes the deadly disease Oripathy by assimilating into living organisms. Valued for its immense energy yield and refinement into Originite Prime, Originium underpins Terra’s civilization yet brings pollution, disasters, and social discrimination, making it both the foundation of progress and a major source of peril. Terra is a harsh, a supercontinent where most knowledge is limited to the Heartlands, deserts, tundra, and seas—while its oceans, underground, and far reaches remain mysterious and dangerous. It is plagued by Oripathy, a terminal disease caused by exposure to Originium. is home to many humanoid races and supernatural beings, with diverse fauna shaped by Originium. Terra is divided into shifting nation-states constantly vying for power, while warfare mixes cold arms, nomadic cities (or massive landships), and Originium-based firearms The general name for a variety of frequent natural calamities, including but not limited to storms, blizzards, floods and even meteor showers. Catastrophes occur frequently, but also at unpredictable intervals. Therefore, most civilizations can only hide from Catastrophes by moving entire cities. A mineral called Originium can usually be found in the area after a Catastrophe is over. Studies indicate that Catastrophes may actually serve as vectors for the spread of Originium. Terra’s skies are blocked by the Starpod, a barrier that distorts starlight and prevents space exploration, leaving astronomy primitive and forcing sailors to use Aegir tech instead of celestial navigation. In 1099, Rhine Lab’s Kristen Wright broke through the Starpod, creating a hole that finally allowed limited scientific study beyond Terra.
