Real Name: Yumiko Imagawa

Birth Place: Nagoya, Japan

Age: 34

Height: 5'8" (1.73m)

Weight: 125lbs (57kg)

A Nagoya native and the daughter of a local butcher, Imagawa was encouraged by her family to practice Kyūdō from a young age. This long range weapon marked her entry in martial arts by perfecting her assessment of multiple factors a once while carrying precise, controlled, and fluid motions. Imagawa traveled the world to perfect her skills and technique. She later attended the National Police Academy and gained the nickname of "Hibana" due to her improvised explosive devices and brilliant leadership skills on the field. Fluent in seven languages and lethal with any weapon, Imagawa was recruited by the Aichi Police Department Special Assault Team. Imagawa had experiences of several operations during her time at the SAT. Operations included in her service are the 2003 Beppu Hostage Crisis and the Obayashi Hostage Incident during 2007 with fellow SAT operator Masaru "Echo" Enatsu. Furthermore, Her diverse techniques and charisma resulted in her to moving quickly up the ranks. It was at this time she became acquainted with Kana "Azami" Fujiwara.

She became specialized in paramilitary techniques gained by training with the SAS, FBI SWAT, and GIGN, to name a few. From her diverse training, she acquired a rare tactical versatility, which includes a proficiency in tubular (bus, train, and airplane) assaults. Imagawa and Enatsu then worked once again in Operation Red Crow where they are tasked to raid a Yakuza headquarters known as Skyscraper. In 2016, Hibana along with Echo, accepted an invitation to join Rainbow. She participates in numerous Special Operations conferences around the world, and presented a panel on Disaster Reduction in Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture. She also collaborated with FBI SWAT Operator Jordan "Thermite" Trace on Project X-KAIROS, her new gadget.

Hibana looks up to Thatcher as a mentor figure.

Psychological Report:

Imagawa is an expert in paramilitary techniques and infiltration of high-risk areas. Passionate and adaptive, she inspires experts from diverse backgrounds to work together and reach a common goal.

"Specialist Yumiko “Hibana" Imagawa has considerable talents. I only know a few others with as many commendations. Inspiring operatives from diverse backgrounds and putting people at ease comes naturally to her, and she's certainly gracious with my poor attempts at Japanese.

I enjoy our conversations. Imagawa is very lyrical in the way she recounts her experiences. For someone who's been around the world and encountered so many cultures, her favorite stories are of her childhood home. Like when her father would come home from his work as a butcher, and Imagawa's mother wouldn't allow him inside until they had hosed him down in the garden. The image of her drenched, barefoot father dancing under the spray of frigid water was a great amusement to the family. I like the story.

Memories like these keep us grounded and I wondered if training in Kyudo had fostered this appreciation in her. When I suggested that she had an aura of inner serenity, she laughed and called me a "hippie."

I'd like to see if she can influence some of the others to maintain that calm sensibility. Her training with so many CTUS makes her an ideal fit for the role. Already within Rainbow Imagawa is universally respected.

I sense that Imagawa's motivations are stoked by some inner fire, but she also has a competitive drive with fellow operatives. The debrief reports indicate as much.

Imagawa does appear to be uncustomarily impatient with Specialist Grace “Dokkaebi" Nam, despite them often spending lab time together.

The dynamic surprises me because I can't quite pin it down. When I asked, Imagawa said I was mistaken, and Dokkaebi seems not to notice or to care. I've read the reports and my hunch hovers over some joint training exercise with the GIGN. Imagawa may envy Nam's easy self-assurance, which corresponds with records concerning Imagawa's younger sister. Still, l'd like to explore this further. They aren't necessarily at loggerheads, but it may affect future operations in some way we can't foresee if I can't determine the source of the rupture in Imagawa's calm."

-- Dr. Harishva “Harry” Pandey, Director of Rainbow

Appearance:

Hibana has fair skin and straight, dark brown hair that falls just past her chin, layered with slightly uneven ends and parted loosely at the front. Her eyes are deep brown, framed by long lashes.

She wears a dark, tactical hooded jacket with a weathered texture, the outer fabric a deep navy blue with faint creases and wear marks along the sleeves and torso. The hood is pulled up, shadowing her hair slightly, and the jacket’s shoulders and chest are reinforced with a black tactical vest lined with segmented padding. Across the vest run several yellow safety straps and harness rings of matte steel, connecting to her utility belt and thigh clips with visible buckles and stitching. A small patch displaying the Japanese flag is affixed over the left side of her chest. Under the jacket, the fabric transitions into fitted combat gear in shades of blue and charcoal gray, layered for flexibility and protection. The sleeves end in black tactical gloves reinforced across the knuckles and fingers, the material thick with visible creases and a slightly glossy finish from wear. The gloves’ backs are padded, with exposed fingertips. Her pants are rugged and dark gray, made from heavy-duty tactical fabric with multiple seams and reinforced stitching along the thighs and knees. Straps and buckles encircle her upper thighs, securing a side holster on her right leg and a small pouch on the left. The holster has a black finish, numbered “24” in white, and the gear loops are fastened tightly with visible wear along the edges. Around her waist, a tactical belt holds clips, carabiners, and metal attachment loops, connecting to the main harness running diagonally down her front. The straps are detailed with yellow stitching and faint fraying from use. Her boots are black leather, scuffed and worn, laced tightly up the ankles with thick, rugged soles. The toe caps are dulled from repeated impact, and faint dust traces the edges of the material.

Unique Ability: X-KAIROS Launcher Partaking in a Special Operation conference in Jordan, Imagawa met Operator Jordan "Thermite" Trace, a pioneer in Brimstone BC-3 Exothermic experiments. She collaborated with him to develop the “X-KAIROS,” a 40 mm caliber launcher. The X-KAIROS fires explosive pellets that can be detonated simultaneously from a distance. Deliver innovative assaults by creating lines of sights, or new pathways.

The Special Assault Team (Japanese: 特殊急襲部隊, Tokushu Kyūshū Butai) is a counter-terrorism unit in some Prefectural Police Departments supervised by the Japanese National Police Agency. Its origin can be traced back to the Special Armed Police who were trained in September 1977 to combat criminal incidents as a response to the Dhaka Incident. They saw their first successful deployment in January 1979 during the Mitsubishi Bank hostage incident and were involved in many other counter-terrorist operations since then. These specially trained SAP members were officially put into the newly established Special Assault Team in 1996 after training for a year with the GSG 9, GIGN, and British SAS.

Team Rainbow (also known as RAINBOW) is an elite international counterterrorism unit that falls under the direct supervision of NATO. The unit was formed in 1999 to combat terrorist actions worldwide in a more effective way by assembling a team of elite counterterrorist operatives from nations all over the world. The organization is led by individuals holding the title of Director who are codenamed Six.

Every Operator is equipped with a drone. Drones are small twin wheeled robots that are remotely controlled by Operators. Its use as an Intel gathering device is unparalleled, allowing the user to identify the location they need to strike, identify enemy combatants, and give up-to-date information on the whereabouts of the enemy. They can be destroyed with one well-placed shot.

The Program is a concept that was conceived and put into effect by the Director of Rainbow, Harry Pandey, following his acceptance of the position in early 2019. The purpose of The Program is to decentralize Rainbow and increase operational capability through continued training scenarios. The Stadium acts as Rainbow's central training facility for The Program. It featured a gym, medical bay, firing range, dormitories, cafeteria, lounges, R&D lab, and a movie theatre.

The White Masks are a terrorist organization. They are easily identifiable by the white masks concealing their faces. While the White Masks' motives are not explicitly clear, it is known that they are easily capable of carrying out attacks anywhere in the world and are known to be indiscriminate to their victims, disregarding age, religion, gender, or nationality. They are a big enough threat that the Rainbow program had been reactivated as a result.
