The Hestia Familia started out with Bell Cranel as its first member. Several of Bell's allies later joined the Familia in order to help him in the War Game against Apollo Familia. However, despite their newfound fame after their victory, further recruitment of members failed after Hestia's debt was revealed. At present, they still remain a small-size Familia, having only six members. The Familia emblem, created after the War Game, is fire with a bell, representing the Goddess and the first member who started the Familia with her. The Hestia Familia home is known as the Hearth Mansion (竈火かまどの館やかた). It is the former Apollo Familia home that was given to them after winning the War Game. The Hearth Mansion is a large three-floored mansion with a large iron fence around it. The home also has an inner garden, corridors, and a large front garden with flowers and trees. After it was renovated, a forge and a large wooden bath were added. The Hestia Familia formerly lived in the basement of an old abandoned church that was given to Hestia by Hephaestus. A secret door led to the basement which was in a P shape. The church was destroyed by Apollo Familia during their attack. However, the basement was later used to hide Wiene.

Hestia (ヘスティア) is a Goddess and head of the Hestia Familia. Hestia is a beautiful and petite Goddess with a youthful appearance. She has blue eyes and mid-thigh length black hair tied into twin-tails which reach down to her mid-thighs. Her hair is tied with hair accessories that feature blue and white petals along with bell-shaped ornaments, which were gifted to her by Bell. She has a small frame, measuring only 140cm (4' 7"), which further emphasizes her breasts, hence the nickname "Loli Big-Boobs." Her usual attire is a white mini dress with a blue ribbon around her neck and one tied under her breasts around her arms, and a pair of white gloves. She is usually barefoot, but occasionally wears a pair of white flip-flops. Hestia is a kind and energetic Goddess. She is always full of energy and is very passionate about her feelings. This in turn makes her someone with a surprising determination, willing to spend three whole days in dogeza position to get a weapon for Bell until Hephaestus finally relented. On various occasions it has been pointed out that she is kind to others. She does not discriminate against anyone and is fair with everyone, even Hera. Both Hephaestus and Penia have noted that she was the only one who didn't make fun of their flaws, the deformity in her friend's eye and the latter's status as a Goddess of Poverty. Hestia is well known for it, which caused Loki to be shocked when she referred to Dionysus as terrifying. On the other hand, she is compassionate and understanding, shown when she accepted Wiene and let her stay in her home even though she was a monster after seeing she was just like a kid. Although they have a serious mutual enmity, Loki has recognized her kindness as one of her greatest qualities. She is a pacifist, so she usually avoids conflict if possible. In Heaven, she came to give Dionysus her place among the 12 main Gods of Olympus to prevent a conflict between him and the other Gods. Freya noted that she possesses a strong sense of justice, commenting that she would be upset if she saw a slave market. While she is a quite simple Goddess, and is often teased by many other Gods for being childish, her demeanor has caused her to have relationships with a wide variety of them and her status as Goddess of the immortal flame makes her someone with authority and an undeniable high position, with Loki suspecting that even Ouranos and Zeus acknowledge her. Despite all her good features and her typically nice demeanor, Hestia is very different when it comes to Bell. Having fallen in love with her first dependent, she dreams of having a relationship with him and is extremely jealous. Every time she finds out about a new relationship of Bell with a girl, she becomes agitated and seeks to see if that woman has romantic feelings for him. In cases where she confirms her fears, she acquires a hostile attitude regarding Bell, seeing all of them as her love rivals. She often argues with Lili about the boy, which is the greatest example of this. She has a notorious antipathy towards Ais due to Bell's feelings for her. Likewise, she constantly tries to keep them apart and maintains her sullen attitude towards her even when Bell is not present. Her dislike and jealousy for her even served as her main motivation to hide from Bell the existence of his skill Liaris Freese, even surpassing her desire to protect him. Her jealousy usually makes her act irrationally. She once completely prohibited any form of physical contact between men and women of her Familia after seeing Bell and Haruhime holding hands. Despite being a virgin goddess, she can be naughty and perverted as she once entered the bathroom to see Bell naked while he was bathing. While her insanely possessive demeanor stands out most of the time she spends with Bell, Hestia has occasionally acted appropriately and shown healthy concern for him as well. She has comforted, supported and motivated the young adventurer in times when he was discouraged or did not know what to do, in addition to defending him after he earned the hatred of all Orario. Although she proves to have a preference for Bell, she is a Goddess who has a deep love for her entire Familia. She always supports them in the decisions they make and tries to encourage them if they are down. Despite her feelings for Bell, she told him to go for Lili back when they fought after the Pallum found out about his feelings for Ais. Likewise, she was fully willing to take responsibility for their actions regardless of the severity and help them through their entire odyssey to save the Xenos. She has been shown to be oblivious at times, as she did not understand Loki's warning regarding Freya at the Denatus or when she caused a stove to blow a Jagamarukun stand sky high. Hestia possesses a certain sense of responsibility, refusing to accept the help of her Familia members to pay her debt for the Hestia Knife, arguing that it was hers and declaring that she would pay it no matter how long it took. In turn, this also proved that she is a hard worker, as she holds two jobs just to pay off the debt. However, she still has a lazy side that she can get carried away by if allowed to, as she stayed with Hephaestus until she was forced out and later took a while to find work. Back when she was in Heaven, Hestia was one of the gods to guard the sacred flame. After descending to the Lower World, she was taken care of by her friend Hephaestus. Soon after, she was asked to live on her own after she kept freeloading off of Hephaestus Familia and was given a room at an abandoned church. Hestia tried to create her own familia, but wasn't able to recruit anyone. After failing to recruit for the 50th time, she noticed Bell and decided to secretly follow him. Hestia found out that Bell had been trying to enter a familia, but was rejected multiple times and seemed to be in the same boat. Hestia then took the chance to recruit him, which Bell happily agreed upon; becoming the first member of her familia. She took Bell to a bookstore, the location she already decided beforehand, and granted her Falna to her first dependent.

Bell Cranel (ベル・クラネル) is the main male protagonist of the series. He is a first-tier adventurer and the captain of the Hestia Familia. After he ranked up to Level 2, he received the alias Little Rookie. Following his rank up to Level 4, his alias was changed to Rabbit Foot. He is the reincarnation of the famous hero Argonaut. Bell is a young teenager with white hair and red eyes, often compared to a rabbit based on his appearance. He is considered cute, as many female characters have pointed out throughout the story. He prefers wearing lightweight armor and wears a hip-length brown coat with a small black patch on the right side above his chest, along with a long-sleeved black shirt underneath. He also wears black pants, a beige belt with a silver buckle, and brown shin-high boots. Bell is a kind, straightforward, brave, yet shy boy who desires to be a hero like the ones he grew up reading about. He cares deeply for the people around him, especially his Goddess, Hestia, and his Familia. He considers them like family due to the death of his grandfather. After being rescued from a minotaur by Ais Wallenstein, he fell in love with her. However, after being ridiculed by a member of the Loki Familia about the incident and for how weak he was (not knowing that he was within earshot), Bell couldn't help but acknowledge his words and thought himself foolish for thinking that Ais could be with someone like him. He became determined to grow stronger so that he could be someone that could stand beside her. The initial incident also left him with a fear of minotaurs. Bell's goals didn't start out pure, as he wanted to be an adventurer in hopes of picking up girls, even thinking of starting a harem, all thanks to advice from his grandfather. However, after his encounter with Ais, Bell seems to have forgone that dream in order to catch up to her and to become more like a hero. Although, he does get embarrassed when others find out about his desire to be a hero, as most kids grew out of that dream by his age. Though it is a good trait, Bell is often scolded by people around him for his trusting nature. He was tricked out of his money by Naaza and Lili multiple times before he found out. In the latter's case, Hestia warned him that she may be untrustworthy; nevertheless, he still refused to abandon her. However, being the type to not hold grudges, he easily forgave both of them. When a body was discovered in the eighteenth floor and Ryuu was thought to be the murderer, he continually held doubts (despite mounting evidence seemingly pointing to her) and wanted to believe in her. Bell is also a terrible liar. His inability to lie or keep a secret is often easily recognized by others. This inability is part of the reason why Hestia has not told him about the skill behind his extremely fast growth, knowing that he would be unable to keep it a secret for long. Conversely, it has been noted by Hestia that he has an extraordinary ability to read people. He recognized the loneliness in Lili to be similar to what he felt and was able to pick up on Lyd's feelings through his facial expressions fairly quickly. Though he gets flustered quite easily from time to time, especially around women, and can appear to be timid, Bell does possess a strong will. His feelings for Ais were strong enough to grant him a skill that highly accelerated his growth. His desire to be strong and stand next to her gave him the resolve to overcome his fear of minotaurs and defeat one while still only a Level 1. He unknowingly went against Hermes's divine will and refused to kill Gros, choosing instead to believe in the dream of the Xenos and risk death. When he sets his mind to a goal, he puts his all towards completing it. He is the only adventurer to endure Eina's strict lessons, and he persisted through Ais and Tiona's harsh training in preparation for the War Game against the Apollo Familia. Bell often acts based on his feelings, causing him to be frequently caught up in trouble, such as when he decided to help Lili, rescue Haruhime, and protect Wiene. However, such actions have also worked in his favor. His actions caused him to earn the affection of the aforementioned women, as well as several others. He saved Mord Latro, who had kidnapped Hestia and attacked him, from monsters, turning him from an enemy into an ally. His staunch support of the Xenos and his belief that they are worthy of being saved has made him extremely popular with them. His encounter with the Xenos deeply troubled him for a time. He was unsure if he could keep killing monsters, knowing that there were some that had the emotions and intelligence of people. With some advice from Fels, he decided to become a hypocrite: he would keep taking lives so that he could get stronger and protect others. He would extend this approach to being a "hypocrite" when it came to his relationships to the women around him. Unbeknownst to him, many of the women he knows have crushes on him to varying degrees, with him appearing to be completely unaware and dense toward most of their feelings and advances; in particular not taking any of Hestia's confessions seriously, only seeing her as his Goddess. After Syr confesses to him, he initially is troubled on how to respond, due to his feelings for Ais, but with advice from Welf, rejects her. Despite this, he still resolves to do everything he can to help her, even after learning her true identity as Freya, and recognizing himself as the source of her suffering. He demonstrated a similar form of action when he protested Finn's marriage proposal to Lili, without knowing about her feelings for him. Following his loss against Asterius and ascension to Level 4, Bell has become calmer and more level-headed. Due to his goals now including creating a world that both people and Xenos could live in and defeating Asterius, his desire to be stronger has grown and he approaches adventures in the dungeonwith more seriousness. Bell does not like sweet things and prefers bitter foods instead. In regard to women, Bell likes blond girls with long hair. He also has a preference for Elves.

Liliruca Arde (リリルカ・アーデ) is a member of the Hestia Familia. Originally a member of the Soma Familia, she converted to the Hestia Familia after securing her freedom after the War Game. She is the reincarnation of the former Fianna Knights' leader and legendary heroine Fianna. Lili has a petite body with chestnut-colored hair and eyes. She wears a slightly torn red and white hooded top that exposes her midriff and a red skirt that she chooses to leave unbuttoned. She also uses long hand gloves, black tights and light brown boots. Lili used to use Cinder Ella to disguise herself while living apart from the Soma Familia, but stopped doing so after the Familia's reformation. As a Chienthrope child, she had dark brown hair and gold eyes along with ears and a tail. As an Elf child, she had golden hair and Elf ears. Lili originally hated adventurers due to the treatment she received as a supporter, using that as an excuse to trick and steal from adventurers she partied with. She also treated Bell the same way. However, his constant kindness and equal treatment of her caused Lili to question her own attitude, as he gave her half their spoils and valued her as a person. After she is saved by Bell, she becomes much closer to him and develops romantic feelings for him. Lili often uses her experience to gather information or do jobs that Bell and the other members of the Hestia Familia would be unable to do properly. She is also frequently amazed at how Bell seems to constantly get himself involved in trouble, yet she still cooperates with him in whatever he does. Lili is regarded as the "brains" of the Familia, being that she is the most capable when it comes to developing battle plans and strategies. She advised Bell and Welf to travel to the eighteenth floor when they were trapped in the dungeon, and she was crucial in forming the Hestia Familia's plan of attack for the War Game. Lili also possesses a strong insight, forged through her time as a thief, as she was able to pick up Finn Deimne's speech patterns, mannerisms, and character after only one meeting with him. During discussions and arguments, Lili tends to take the most logical and cautious point of view. She's keener on using magic swords rather than risk the chance of monsters overwhelming them, bringing her to odds with Welf, and taking the cheaper option when it comes to items, food, etc. However, some stances that Lili argues for could be viewed as cold-hearted. She was against rescuing Haruhime from her life as a prostitute and was against keeping Wiene in their home. This is not due to her lacking compassion, but rather her desire to not see harm brought upon her Familia. In both situations, she argued that doing so would bring trouble to the Familia, the latter turning out to be correct. As a result of the discrimination she suffered throughout her life Lili talks in a quite respectful way, addressing everyone with the suffix sama. Lili was born to parents belonging to the Soma Familia, making her a member of the Familia from birth. However, her parents didn't look after her and ordered her to earn money for them instead. A while later, her parents were killed in the dungeon, leaving her to fend for herself. The Soma Familia didn't take care of her and bullied her, making her lonely and isolated. To earn money, she tried to be an adventurer, but didn't have the talent, eventually switching to being a supporter. As a supporter, she was constantly looked down on by those she partied with, fueling the hatred of adventurers inside her. After a while, Lili decided to run away from the Soma Familia and become a normal citizen. However, the Soma Familia found her and inflicted misery on the old couple who took care of her, destroying their store and stealing money. She began to hate Soma himself, wondering why he created a Familia if he wasn't going to take care of it. From that time on, Lili began using her hatred of adventurers as an excuse to trick and steal from them.

Yamato Mikoto (ヤマト・命) is a member of the Hestia Familia. Originally belonging to the Takemikazuchi Familia, she converted to the Hestia Familia in order to aid them in the then-upcoming War Game with Apollo Familia, but plans on returning within a year once she can convert again. Mikoto has bluish-purple eyes and long black hair tied into a ponytail. She wears a purple kimono with a sarashi underneath, along with a dark red sash and thigh-length boots. She also wears a red shoulder guard on her non-weapon arm, arm guards, and keeps her katana in the sash at her waist. Mikoto has a serious and honorable personality, unwilling to use cowardly tactics even in an emergency, as shown through her disapproval of Pass Parading the monsters that were chasing them onto the Hestia Familia. According to her honest side, she is also a terrible liar unable to hide any secret, a regard in which Lili and Welf have noted she is similar to Bell. She also has a softer side, as she cares for the well-being of her friends and is fiercely loyal to them. Be it when fighting or doing anything else, Mikoto is a quite humble person who doesn't like to admit that she played some major role on something or is a remarkable individual in any field, getting embarrassed when someone says so, and usually diminishes her own abilities or contributions. Mikoto originally hails from the Far East. Her parents died several years after her birth. Tsukuyomi and Takemikazuchi took the young girl into their orphanage, where she lived for years, eventually joining the Takemikazuchi Familia. Mikoto and the other members of the Takemikazuchi Familia used to sneak Sanjouno Haruhime out of her mansion at night to play with her. They were eventually caught, damaging relations between Haruhime's father and the shrine. They pursued their nightly fun regardless. Two years before the story, Mikoto and the other Takemikazuchi Familia members moved to Orario to earn money to help support the shrine. She became Level 2 shortly before meeting Bell for the first time.

Welf Crozzo (ヴェルフ・クロッゾ) is a member of the Hestia Familia and Bell's personal smith, later becoming one for the entire Hestia Familia after converting from the Hephaestus Familia. He is the reincarnation of his ancestor, the first Crozzo, Crozzo. Welf is a tall adult male who has short, spiky red hair, and dark blue eyes. He wears a blue scarf around his neck. His attire consists of a dark blue long-sleeve shirt underneath a black kimono with a brown belt tied around his waist, along with tanned white pants and long brown boots. When crafting in the forge, he wears a traditional attire befitting of a blacksmith such as a bandana, t-shirt, apron, and gloves. Welf Crozzo is a straightforward and honest person. He is generally casual to everyone that he associates with, asking Bell to call him by name and without honorifics the first time they met. He doesn't like to be associated with his family name, preferring to not be a part of the conversation when his name is brought up and even refuses people that come to him seeking magic swords. Welf holds a deep hatred for magic swords, considering them to be objects that rot the user, leaving them to grow obsessed with their power even though they would always break away and leave the user behind. He witnessed firsthand through his family how lustful for the power they became when he manifested his skill, and despises how greedy others act toward him when requesting him to make some. He initially declares his intention to never create a magic sword, desiring to create a superior one all on his own, a dream he has had since he was a kid. However, Hephaestus eventually convinces him not to completely waste his gift, knowing it could be of great use to assist his friends in need. After the battle against the Black Goliath on the 18th Floor, his hatred lessens somewhat, creating magic swords more frequently, though he still refuses to make them for anyone other than members of his own Familia. Welf holds a lot of pride in his work. He refuses to let Bell wear armor not forged by his own hands and desires to surpass Hephaestus without using his ability to make magic swords, wishing to prove that he is his own man. While not arrogant, he did let the title of High Smith get to his head for a time, which Tsubaki coldly pointed out when she easily split a shortsword he had made. Despite making works of good quality, Welf tends to give them poor names, though he doesn't realize it, and gets disappointed when the recipient chooses something else. Both Bell and Mikoto have each fiercely pleaded with him to give their weapons a better name (the Ushiwakamaru and Kotetsu were to be called Minotan and Shimajirou, respectively). Despite leaving the Hephaestus Familia, he is thankful for everything that Hephaestus has done for him, while also displaying an open crush for the Goddess, intending to make her go out with him if he is able to create a sword that impresses her. Welf was originally born in Rakia, a nation type Familia ruled by Ares. As a member of the Crozzo Family, he lived as a noble due to the successes his predecessors had in creating magic swords. However, his life changed the day his Skill Crozzo Blood appeared, which enabled him to create magic swords again. Despite his family's joy at the prospect of being able to create more magic swords, Welf despised his skill, causing him to escape Rakia with the help of his former Goddess Phobos.

Sanjouno Haruhime (サンジョウノ・春姫) is a member of the Hestia Familia and a former member of the Ishtar Familia. Haruhime is a beautiful girl of below average height with a slim yet curvaceous figure. She has long blonde hair, green eyes, and fox ears and a tail. She used to wear a red kimono, but started wearing a maid outfit after she joined the Hestia Familia. However, she still wears a kimono when going to the dungeon. Haruhime is a gentle, timid, well-mannered, and extremely kind girl. She is respectful of everyone she meets and is eager to help when given the chance. Having grown up mostly isolated and later kept hidden by the Ishtar Familia, Haruhime has experienced quite a sheltered life. And as such, even minor things will excite her. Haruhime developed a love of reading at a young age, as it was her way of escaping her loneliness. She has a fondness for fairy tales, particularly ones where the hero saves a damsel in distress. When she was made to work as a prostitute, she wished that a hero would come and save her, like in those stories. As time went on, however, she convinced herself that she wouldn't be saved, since she believed that her profession made her unworthy of rescue. However, Haruhime's view on this changed after Bell saved her, regardless of her beliefs. Though she has never had to fend for herself, Haruhime displays an unusual sense of bravery when those she cares for are threatened. When Wiene was in danger, Haruhime leaped off a building in pursuit of her and stood up to Bete in order to give Bell enough time to escort Wiene to safety. While working as a prostitute, Haruhime would foam at the mouth and collapse whenever she saw a naked man. Due to this, she is still a virgin, but is unaware of the fact. Haruhime grew up as a dignified young lady of a noble family in the Far East. Living in solitude, her home was like a cage, and she had no friends. At some point, children of the Takemikazuchi Familia, with the approval of their God, started taking her outside at night to play with them. Sometime later, someone framed her for eating an offering, which angered her father so much that he disowned her and a Pallum guest offered to take her away. As they were traveling, they were attacked by monsters and the Pallum ran away, leaving Haruhime behind. She survived, but was later captured by bandits and sold to a brothel in Orario. While heading there, she caught the eye of Ishtar, who bought her. Haruhime became a member of the Ishtar Familia, where she was forced to work as a prostitute, until the Familia disbanded.
