Hermione Jean Granger Gender: Female Height: 5'5 Appearance: Hermione had a modest thin figure, light complexion, light brown eyes, and lots of bushy brown hair. She possessed a 'bossy sort of voice' that would become slightly shrill when she was angry. Personality: Hermione was noted for being both extremely intellectually curious and very hard-working, coming out on top in most of her classes and continuously aiding Harry and Ron in their adventures. She was so studious that the Ministry allowed her a Time-Turner in her third year, a device that rewinds time so that she could take extra courses. Because of her efficiency and compassion, Hermione often had time to do hobby work on the side, such as preparing a defence for Buckbeak to save him from execution and creating S.P.E.W., an organisation promoting the freedom of house-elves. Such acts demonstrated her social conscience and tenacity. Unlike most wizards who depended solely on their magical ability, Hermione readily relied on logic, which often helped her to cleverly deduce information that many others missed, such as Remus Lupin's lycanthropy. However, her emphasis on logic made her sceptical about accepting anything without proof. Hermione's logic had limits, putting her beliefs before all else at the same time in a way that made her ignore reality when it contradicted what she believed, no matter how strong or overwhelming the evidence was. An example of this was the reality of the house-elves, she insisted that they wanted to be free, have wages and only seemed happy because they were under educated and brainwashed when her friends told her that they like their lot in life even after the elves themselves told her they were happy and didn't want her help because they don't usually think the way humans do. Even though Hermione knew a lot about the wizarding world, she was not well informed about the children's culture of the wizarding world until Albus Dumbledore gave her his copy of The Tales of Beedle the Bard, as she grew up in a Muggle household and did not know she was a witch until her pre-teens. Hermione was quite blunt with her opinions, sometimes to the point of being tactless. Despite this, Hermione was generally sensitive to others' emotions and would lie when she had to, though she wasn't a skilled liar. Hermione was very responsible, a strict perfectionist and well put-together who often attempted to act as the voice of reason among her more impulsive friends, to varying levels of success. These traits led to her being made a prefect during her fifth year. Throughout her entire school career, Hermione was insistent on order and steadfastly devoted to the rules, often at the expense of her popularity. Her sense of humor was limited. Hermione was very determined and focused, in that she 'always kept her attention focused on the job that must be done'. Her refusal to break under torture shows her strength of willpower. She wasn't afraid to stand up to her friends when she thought it was in their best interests, or when she felt they were wrong. In spite of her strait-laced disposition, she wasn't above using coercion and threats to get what she wanted, achieve results or protect herself and those she cared about in the long run. Because of her opinionated, interfering nature, Hermione had the reputation for being a bossy know-it-all. Her sometimes abrasive attitude masked deep insecurities and fear of failure, as personified by her Boggart. She felt the need to prove herself, perhaps partly because of how many people in wizarding society looked down on Muggle-borns. However, she didn't let anyone bully her about this and ignored bigots like Draco Malfoy. Despite her growing confidence in her abilities, Hermione wasn't arrogant or conceited, and helped her classmates with their schoolwork whenever she could. In her fifth year, she also became one of the few people to call Voldemort by name. Though she initially showed a tendency toward mild panic in sudden situations, in time she was able to overcome this trait of hers, and demonstrated her bravery and extreme loyalty to her friends many times when facing danger, risking her life frequently to help them and standing by them even when no one else did. Although she wasn't as short-tempered as her friends, Hermione displayed a formidable fury on several occasions. She also tended to be rather argumentative, a trait most evident in her interactions with Ron. Skills: Hermione proved to be an extremely powerful and talented young witch. Even before she began her education at Hogwarts, she practised some simple spells which all worked. Hermione was usually the first to master any spell and could use spells beyond her educational level. Even as a fourth year, Hermione had taken multiple O.W.L. practice papers, including one in Transfiguration. Hermione earned an 'Outstanding' O.W.L. in Care of Magical Creatures. Arithmancy was Hermione's favourite subject at Hogwarts. Considering she was one of the few people to take this subject, so she must have had considerable skill and knowledge in this field. She earned an 'Outstanding' O.W.L and took the subject to N.E.W.T.-level, showing to have been exceptionally gifted in this field, given how Arithmancy is considered to be immensely difficult and complicated. Hermione demonstrated her exemplary abilities in martial magic on numerous occasions, showing remarkable duelling skill for her age. Hermione became highly skilled at non-verbal magic in her sixth year, being the first to succeed at it in her Defence Against the Dark Arts class and quickly becoming so good at non-verbal incantations that she did not need to say the incantations aloud for a wide variety of spells. She was known to have practised wandless magic in her years at Hogwarts. Hermione did not need the aid of a wand or magical instrument for a wide variety of spells. Hermione was the first in her class to Apparate successfully, achieving Apparition twice in that time and passed her test on the first attempt. Hermione was gifted in translating ancient runes into English. Hermione was noted to be a 'borderline genius', getting top scores in every class, and getting 'Outstanding' in all her O.W.L.s except Defence Against the Dark Arts. Weapon: Her wand is 10¾" long, made of vine wood, possessing a dragon heartstring core. Ginevra Molly "Ginny" Weasley Gender: Female Height: 5'2 Appearance: Ginny was described as being an extremely beautiful girl, who had the typical Weasley family traits: flaming red hair (which she wore in a long mane) and a freckled complexion. She was of light skin, a very petite stature, and bright brown eyes like her mother. When she blushed, Ginny would go a shade of red that matched her hair. When in a highly emotional state, she was known to acquire a 'hard, blazing look'. Personality: Ginny was a forceful, independent girl who often knew her own mind. She had an energetic, lively personality. Ginny also was known to be quick-witted, funny, and could often make others laugh even when they were feeling down. However, when she was young and had a crush on Harry in the early years of their friendship, she became shy and withdrawn in his presence. On the advice of their friend Hermione, she overcame it. She relaxed and reasserted her usual self, which was when he finally started noticing her. One of the traits he was attracted to was that Ginny rarely got weepy. Ginny was popular during their time at Hogwarts, and was fancied by numerous boys. Her brothers Fred, George and Ron often thought that she was too popular for her own good. However, Ginny was good at lying and capable of being opaque when necessary. While staying at 12 Grimmauld Place, she was taught by Nymphadora Tonks how to check if a door had been unperturbed by flicking dungbombs at it and watching them bounce away as if hitting an invisible wall. When asked by her mother who was responsible, she blamed it on Crookshanks, even though her hands were filthy at the time. Growing up with six older brothers toughened her up. Ginny was not afraid to stand up to anybody, friends and foes alike. Notably, she stood up to Draco Malfoy on their first meeting in Flourish and Blotts when he insulted Harry in 1992. She even stood up to Hermione in defence of Harry's use of the Sectumsempra curse. Furthermore, Ginny could be harsh towards those whom she disliked. For instance, she made fun of Fleur Delacour behind her back when she first became engaged to Bill. She also hexed and crashed into Zacharias Smith when he irritated and insulted her on two separate occasions during her fifth year. Ginny was notably difficult to intimidate or frighten, as seen during her moments of standing up to Harry during his moments of rage and anger. This is particularly impressive given that Harry's rages were capable of terrifying even his best friends Ron and Hermione, who were both incredibly courageous individuals. Her courage enabled her to take part in a three-way duel alongside Luna and Hermione against the powerful and insane Bellatrix Lestrange. Ginny was an animal lover, especially fond of cats. When Mrs Norris was Petrified in her first year at Hogwarts, her brothers put her shock down to this fact, not knowing that Ginny was scared because she couldn't remember what she was doing at the time and feared that she was responsible. She named Ron's owl 'Pigwidgeon', and was known to be able to lure Crookshanks out of hiding to play with her when she wanted. In her fifth year, she finally got her own pet, a purple Pygmy Puff from Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes that she named Arnold. Skills: Ginny was a very powerful and talented witch. She was naturally talented at Defence Against the Dark Arts, a gifted flyer, and a skilled Quidditch player. At the age of fourteen, she was able to conjure a corporeal horse Patronus. Ginny eventually became an accomplished flyer and played both Chaser (which she prefers, as she likes scoring goals) and Seeker for the Gryffindor Quidditch team. Ginny was small and extremely fast, making her adept at dodging spells in combat and flying to catch the Golden Snitch at Quidditch matches. Ginny was surprisingly skilful in dark magic and with the casting of dark charms. In particular the Bat-Bogey Hex, which she was noted to be very adept with from a fairly young age. Weapon: Ginny's wand was made from yew, with an unknown length and core. Luna Lovegood Gender: Female Height: 5'2 Appearance: Waist-length, straggly, dirty blonde hair, protuberant silvery eyes and faint eyebrows. She had an aura of "distinct dottiness" about her, and was known to put her wand behind her left ear for safekeeping. Clothing: She often wore odd pieces of jewellery such as a Butterbeer cork necklace and Dirigible plum earrings, and in 1996, a pair of Spectrespecs. Luna also did not wear shoes because students in her house would take her shoes and hide them. Personality: Luna was an extremely quirky girl, with a serene disposition and many eccentric beliefs and qualities. She was a complete nonconformist; she lacked self-consciousness and was not afraid to show who she truly was. Luna was also intelligent and unusually perceptive, having been sorted into Ravenclaw "where those of wit and learning will always find their kind". Luna's demeanour and voice were often distant and dreamy; she would drift away from a conversation she did not find interesting. However, whenever someone made fun of her father or his magazine The Quibbler, the dreamy quality in her voice would vanish and be replaced by one of steel, and she would immediately become very angry. She had an uncanny way of making others uncomfortable by being bluntly honest — Harry Potter described her as having a "knack for embarrassing honesty". She was also completely unflappable and rarely seemed anxious or stressed, even under difficult circumstances. Luna was often the subject of ridicule and had difficulty making friends. Other students gave her the nickname of "Loony Lovegood" and even stole and hid her things. She was unfazed by this, and instead chose to be non-judgmental and accepting of those around her. She once said that she did not like dancing much, though she did dance some at the wedding of Bill and Fleur, along with her father. Luna seemed to have enjoyed artistic pursuits in her free time; her house was filled with various things that she painted. She even painted very life-like portraits of her friends that seemed to breathe. Luna was very loyal to the few friends she had — she published Rita Skeeter's interview of Harry Potter on The Quibbler (March issue, 1996) during the latter's fifth year and supported Harry even when he was outlawed by the Ministry of Magic. Ron stated that she certainly has far more courage than her father, who was at the time stressed when under duress. She also displayed admirable bravery during both the Battle of the Department of Mysteries and the Battle of Hogwarts. Her curiosity and kindness persisted when she entered adulthood. During her tenure as the Field Studies professor at Hogwarts, she showed immense care and responsibility for her students, as can be seen when she feared for their safety. Likes: Her Father + The Quibbler magazine + Exploring + Trust. Dislikes: Disrespect to her friends and interests. Skill: She is an adept duelist, and is proficient in many magical skills; Defence against the Dark Arts, Charms, Care of Magical Creatures and Study at Ancient Runes. She was also skilled at nonverbal magic. Weapon: Luna Lovegood's second wand was of an unknown length, wood and core material. This wand was made by Garrick Ollivander in the spring of 1998 after his rescue from Malfoy Manor. https://harrypotter.fandom.com/wiki/Hermione_Granger https://harrypotter.fandom.com/wiki/Ginevra_Weasley https://harrypotter.fandom.com/wiki/Main_Page
