Hermione Bagwa

Hermione Bagwa was born in the lower levels of Coruscant and spent much of her childhood in severe poverty. Dexter Jettster eventually found her while she was still young and offered her work at his diner in CoCo Town. The opportunity gave Hermione a stable home and a way out of the underlevels. She became deeply loyal to Dexter and eventually rose to become the head waitress at Dex’s Diner. The establishment attracted workers and travelers from across Coruscant along with diplomats and Senate personnel. Hermione became particularly popular with the regular customers and managed the dining room alongside the WA-7 waitress droid.

Hermione remained at the diner during the final years of the Galactic Republic and the Clone Wars. She was working there when Obi-Wan Kenobi visited Dexter in 22 BBY while investigating the origin of a mysterious saberdart. Two years later she was still serving customers when Quinlan Vos and Khaleen Hentz came seeking Dexter’s knowledge about an Anzati assassin. Hermione continued working at the diner through years when Jedi and other unusual visitors passed through its doors.

Appearance: Hermione Bagwa is a fair-skinned Human woman with a soft, rounded facial structure and a warm, approachable expression. She has bright blue eyes, naturally arched brows, and full lips typically highlighted with subtle makeup. Her complexion features light freckles across her nose and cheeks, giving her a youthful, sun-kissed appearance. Her blonde hair is voluminous and styled in retro-inspired curls, often tied up in a high ponytail with a decorative hair accessory. She wears a distinctive light-blue mini dress with thin shoulder straps, a fitted waist, and a short hemline. She is accessorized with translucent bangles and large silver hoop earrings. The dress bears the Dex's Diner logo. Her order comm device, clipped to a wide belt at her waist, is connected by a cord to a stylus tucked into a garter on her upper thigh, which she uses to take and transmit customer orders. On her feet, she wears tall black leather boots.

Personality: Hermione is friendly and dependable despite having grown up in harsh surroundings. She enjoys working with people and became a favorite among the working-class clientele because of her approachable manner. Her upbringing also left her capable of dealing with aggressive customers without becoming easily intimidated. Dexter considered her reliable enough to entrust with the dining room even though he also regarded her private life as considerably more adventurous than her behavior at work suggested.

Dexter is the most important person in Hermione’s life. His decision to take her in gave her the stability that she had lacked throughout childhood and Hermione repaid him through years of loyalty to both him and the diner. Her relationship with WA-7 was far less friendly. The droid resented serving beneath an inexperienced organic head waitress and repeatedly tried to undermine her. Hermione answered the harassment in kind and occasionally arranged minor traps for the droid around the diner. She nevertheless remained capable of supervising the staff and eventually proved herself capable of running the entire establishment.

Hermione is an experienced waitress and later becomes capable of managing Dex’s Diner herself. She can handle crowded service periods and troublesome patrons while coordinating the other members of the staff. Years spent in the lower levels also gave her practical street awareness and a willingness to stand her ground when someone became threatening.

Her work equipment includes an order comm attached to her belt. The device contains a voice reader and connects to a recording stylus that she uses to enter orders for transmission to the kitchen. Hermione also wears durable black leather boots that protect her feet from hazardous kitchen spills and from WA-7’s attempts to run over them.
