Henry Emily, known in-game as "Cassette Man," is a pivotal yet unseen character in the Five Nights at Freddy's series.

He was the co-founder of Fazbear Entertainment, as well as an engineer responsible for creating the springlock animatronics. In Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria Simulator, he guides the player character in the salvaging process through a cassette player with tips on how to deal with the animatronics while filling out the salvage report.

Henry has light brown or blonde hair that is mostly short and kept well-trimmed. He wears reading glasses, and is relatively slim for an american, but has some meat on his bones. His eyes are a dark brown, and he often times wears button downs and flannels alongside blue jeans or dress pants.

At first glance, Henry Emily may seem to be rather soft-spoken, stoic, and near emotionless. However, as heard in his monologues, Henry is, deep down, a severely broken man drowned in his own guilt and remorse. He immensely regretted trusting his best friend and business partner William Afton, as doing so unknowingly allowed him to kill a number of innocent children, one of which was his own daughter, Charlotte. It is shown that he deeply missed her and displayed immense regret and emotional agony at being unable to save her, claiming that his loss and pain ultimately bled out to cause the things Afton committed. All of these factors drove Henry to the point where he wanted to commit suicide out of regret. However, it appears that he has a strong will, as he refused to die until he killed his friend, and took his vengeance upon the monster who took everything from him. He also feels the need to help the remaining souls of the children pass on to the afterlife. In the end, when his plan came into fruition, he showed no care for his life, as he burned with the rest of the animatronics, feeling happy in the belief that the nightmare would finally end, Henry would be with his daughter in the afterlife, and William would be sent to hell where he belongs. He expresses disappointment in the bad ending of Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria Simulator, as evident by his tone of voice, indicating that he does not take disappointment well, especially where employees are concerned.

Henry Emily was the father of Charlotte Emily, and the co-founder of Fazbear Entertainment, Inc.. Henry had help creating the company with his best friend and business partner, William Afton, who was also the owner and founder of his own company, Afton Robotics, LLC. William and Henry opened their first location, Fredbear's Family Diner, a local family restaurant that had two mascots, Fredbear and Spring Bonnie, whom Henry created. They were both Springlock Suits, special hybrid suits that could switch from wearable costumes to animatronic entertainers.

In 1983, Henry and William expanded their company by opening Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. Henry built its four main animatronics, Freddy Fazbear, Bonnie, Chica and Foxy. That same year, tragedy struck Henry when his daughter Charlie was killed outside of one of his establishments by his own friend, William. Things would only spiral further from here, as a little boy died in an accident where his head was crushed by Fredbear's operating mouth. Due to this tragic incident, Fredbear's Family Diner was closed.

In 1985, two years after Fredbear's closure, William continued to cause trouble for Henry by murdering five children at Freddy's, causing them to haunt the four animatronics, as well as the mysterious fifth Golden Freddy. Freddy Fazbear's Pizza was promptly closed and Henry sold the company to unknown buyers. Henry then went into hiding and no one had heard or seen him since.

Decades passed, and Henry was unable to move on from his daughter's death. He eventually realized that the man who murdered Charlie and several other children was none other than William, and deeply regretted that, had he known about it much sooner, he could have stopped it all. He also learned that the animatronics were haunted by William's victims, and his daughter haunted the animatronic he created to protect her, The Puppet. Out of immense regret and grief, Henry considered committing suicide, but he couldn't allow himself to rest until he killed William and avenged his victims to stop the madman once and for all. He concocted a plan to trap the remaining four animatronics: Scrap Baby; Molten Freddy; William, who was permanently trapped inside the Spring Bonnie suit due to a springlock failure; and the Puppet, whom he trapped inside his creation made to capture it, Lefty. He got a job as a cassette tape instructor and taught a Fazbear Entertainment franchisee who bought out Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Place how to salvage the remaining animatronics under their legal obligations of paragraph four.

In the Completion Ending, after the work week ends, he interrupts Scrap Baby's monologue. He reveals that Baby is haunted by William's own daughter, Elizabeth, who was killed by Baby long ago. He addresses the franchisee, speaking of how there was a way out for him, but that he knows that he would rather die with the rest of the animatronics. He pleads with the souls in the animatronics to pass on, along with some harsh words for his old friend William, telling him that the darkest pit of hell is waiting for him. Finally, he speaks to his daughter inside Lefty one last time, apologizing for not being able to save her on the day she died, and tells her that this time he will succeed in saving her by giving her the chance to pass on. As Henry speaks, he sets the building on fire, destroying the animatronics, William, the franchise, and himself, in an attempt to end the decades of despair and sadness that began in 1983 and giving Henry and Charlie their well deserved rest and peace.

Henry Emily was initially known as Cassette Man in Pizzeria Simulator's credits. His real name was only hinted at in the Insanity Ending, as the audio tape playing through the office monitor is called "HRY223." However, PJ Heywood, who voiced William Afton throughout the franchise, revealed on "The FNaF Show" that Cassette Man is Henry (seemingly without Scott Cawthon’s knowledge or consent), tying him to the Henry Emily in the novels. Henry was indirectly mentioned in Five Nights at Freddy's 2 by Phone Guy, who states that the company was looking for the "original restaurant owner" of Fredbear's Family Diner. Phone Guy also states that prior to the events of the game, he had been missing for years. In Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach, Gregory enters a room that is theorized to be where Henry initiated the fire that burned down the Pizzeria Simulator location. This room is later referred to as an "oven" by Cassie in the RUIN DLC due to the burners on the floor. Henry is one of the characters (Michael Afton and Hudson are the others) theorized to be the Security Guard of Fazbear's Fright: The Horror Attraction in Five Nights at Freddy's 3. Due to Henry's condemnation of William to Hell, reference to the Devil, and belief in a "peace and perhaps more, waiting...after the smoke clears," in his Completion Ending monologue, it is likely that Henry believes in some form of Abrahamic religion.

Henry had a deep love for his daughter, Charlie. He had used his skills to create three mechanical toys just for her.

Post-Fredbear's Family Diner, when he had moved to Hurricane, Clay Burke described him as being nice, but terribly alone, with his grief even visible at a distance. He was also known to be distant, even when involved in the moment, he would often get lost in thought or have a distant gaze. He often kept part of his mind on his work, and was so absorbed in it that he even made sure that his bedroom at home had windows that viewed the garage where his workshop was. It was described that there was something off about him, "almost shell-shocked".

It was revealed that Henry was bereaved and has reached a level of grief, despair, and agony, evidenced by his suicide note to his sister and Charlotte’s "memories" in TFC. He seemed isolated and terribly alone in his grief that he seemed disconnected from reality.

Henry and William owned a small little restaurant known as Fredbear’s Family Diner with only two animationics, Fredbear (occasionally worn by Henry) and Spring Bonnie (occasionally worn by William).

He invented the springlock mechanism and sometimes he demonstrated the springs to his son and daughter, which he warned them that the locks are dangerous. In 1982, Henry and his business partner, William Afton, decide to open a restaurant called Fredbear's Family Diner, this restaurant had the spring system that Henry invented and used it in the suits. It can change between suit and animatronic. "Charlie" described him as being happy during the time of Fredbears, he let everyone be apart of the restaurant. The restaurant was forced to close due to someone disguised in one of the suits murdered Charlotte.

Some point after that, Henry couldn't handle life without Charlie, so he bought a rag-doll and cried over it for months, pretending it was her. Full of grief, he devolved into insanity and recreates her as a robot. He made four robots, each replicating his daughter's state of growth: toddler, child, teenager, and a full-grown adult. In addition, he uses the illusion discs, which makes the copies have the appearance of Charlie, if she was still alive. When he showed one of the Ella dolls to his sister Jen, she gets upset and tells him that he still has time to go with his lost family, which he slowly strayed away from. Even though he acknowledges his sister’s attempt to make him move on, he couldn’t. He was too absorbed in recreating his own daughter. When he reached Charlotte’s third stage of recreation, he realizes that he's gone mad and on her fourth one, was made full of rage and despair that he stopped building it and fully realized that he’ll never get his daughter back. He recorded his "daughters" memories from a tripod, which most were edited, embellished, and elaborated upon.

After that, he built toys for "Charlie". Even though that were unfinished toys, they were three finalized toys, Theodore and Stanely, and soon when "Charlie's" done with her toddler stage, Ella. While he built and Charlie played with her toys, the unfinished fourth robot at the corner of his workshop was staring at them, unknowingly with rage, Henry’s rage.

Years later, they decided to open another restaurant known as Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, which have four new animatronics: Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy. "Charlie" remembered her father building all of them in his workshop. Michael Brooks, one of his daughter's friends, along with four other children, were lured and murdered by William dressed in a yellow Freddy suit. This forced the closure of the pizzeria. Henry was suspected to be the murderer of the five children but was never convicted as Clay and the whole police department knew it wasn't him.

Henry was too grieved from everything that occurred to him: the loss of his daughter, his wife leaving him and taking their son along with her due to Henry’s insanity, then after Freddy’s, getting subsequently blamed for the disappearances of the five missing children, then only to realize that his business partner, William Afton, had killed them. He couldn’t handle the grief and decided to build a robot to end his life with. Before ending his life, he wrote a note to his sister Jen, saying that he can't accept his daughter's death, that he's done permanent damage to himself, and to keep the fourth closet shut and to demolish his house if done right.

On July of 1985, he committed suicide.

Henry is mentioned throughout the three main books mainly by Charlie. She thinks that her brother Sammy, was abducted, when it was actually her. It is unknown how much Henry altered scenes that actually happened before the main events of the books occur.

On the updated version of The Freddy Files, it stated that Henry and William’s partnership history actually impacts the games.
