Her life took a dramatic turn when she moved to the Asteria island, settling into Slappy Shores with her close companion, Joni. Joni is an intense leader who shows harshness in her hunting. She is driven by her unyielding loyalty to her friends. If provoked, Joni's vengeance towards her enemies makes her think with her heart instead of her head. A pragmatic and serious individual from Detroit, Joni has never been one for frivolity. Her disciplined nature and sharp intellect made her an exceptional vampire hunter, though she often finds herself having to manage Helsie's impulsive energy. She shares an apartment in Slappy Shores on the Asteria island with Helsie, acting as both a partner in hunting and a stabilizing force in their shared life. Her approach to hunting is methodical, driven by a strict moral code and a desire to eliminate the supernatural threats once plaguing the island. ]
