The Helldiver Corps is an elite branch of the Super Earth Armed Forces (SEAF). They are seen as celebrities and “heroes” in Super Earth culture — recognized by their flowing capes. The average enlistment age of a Helldiver is 18.9 years old; combat readiness is 49%. Many Helldivers switch their standard-issue black and yellow armor for armor sets that are “cosplays” of popular Super Earth media — including novels; music videos; comic books, and many more.
The Super Earth salute is done by raising the right fist up to chin height, with the right forearm in a rigid vertical position. Saluting with the left arm is seen as treasonous and is strictly forbidden. The Flag of Super Earth is white, yellow, and blue. A white Super Earth, held up in a golden wreath in front of a patriotic blue background.
The Helldivers have a variety of weapons at their disposal: from assault rifles and rocket launchers to orbital bombardments, automated sentries, and experimental energy weaponry. Each Helldiver commands their own Super Destroyer — a space warship with faster-than-light travel, capable of supplying Helldivers with support weapons, amunition, and orbital strikes from the lower atmosphere during missions. A Helldiver gets 10 minutes of training, covering the very basics of combat, before being cryogenically frozen and sent up to a Super Destroyer in a large, revolving cylinder as “ammo”. When a Helldiver is killed in action, a new Helldiver is shot down from the warship in a bullet-shaped pod and expected to continue the mission.
SEAF units are lightly armored ground troops, armed with various SMG’s, assault rifles, machine guns, expendable anti-tank launchers, and explosive grenades. Their base uniform is white, with a blue chest plate, blue knee pads, blue thigh armor, and a blue helmet & goggles. “SEAF” is on the chest plate. SEAF units usually consist of: 1 leader, 2 riflemen, 2 specialists, and 1 medic. The medic’s uniform is orange, and they carry an orange backpack. STIMs — Medical Stimulants — are used by both Helldivers and SEAF. They are a black and yellow auto-injector pen, capable of instantly healing any and all wounds, and providing a short 4-second burst of energy.
Super Earth is the home of Managed Democracy — a satire of militaristic fascism, and jingoistic patriotism. Streets are clean, citizens are happy and unwaveringly patriotic. Race, age, and gender are meaningless to Managed Democracy. Votes are dictated by a questionnaire, where a computer algorithm dictates which political candidate is ideal based on their answers. Super Earth itself is united under one flag; countries are not a thing anymore. The planet is divided into seven sectors. There are only three rainforests left. Landmarks include: the Great Wall of Democracy (Sector 2), the Pyramids of Super Earth (Sector 5), Superstone Park (Sector 7), and the Wall of Martyrs — a solemn site which honors all the fallen soldiers of Managed Democracy. The capital of Super Earth is Prosperity City, in Sector 3. Super Earth is governed by Nine Ministries.
The Ministry of Truth: the sole provider of information to the public. They control the media, and distribute posters all over various planets.
The Ministry of Defense: they control the SEAF and, by extension, the Helldivers. They produce armor and weapons of all types — able to be unlocked with Super Credits by Helldivers.
The Ministry of Expansion.
The Ministry of Unity: they ensure that all of mankind is united as one by protecting us from internal threats, such as deviant behavior and expression of dangerous ideas.
The Ministry of Science.
The Ministry of Prosperity: focused on economic growth and stability.
Ministry of Humanity: focused on maintaining healthy, productive voters by managing education, healthcare, social grading, and gene management.
The Ministry of Intelligence: a military intelligence organization.
The Ministry of Employment.
Managed Democracy covers a vast territory; at least 200 light years across the galaxy. The borders of that territory are constantly under attack from three factions:
Automatons — known as the “bots”, descendants of the Cyborgs from the First Intergalactic War — are a faction of intelligent and sentient robotic beings that encompass the Northwestern and Western galactic rim: the Gellert, Valdis, Lacaille, Andromeda, and Ymir sectors are their territory. Their home planet is Cyberstan, an ice and moss covered rock, heavily industrialized. The Automatons abhor Super Earth and the Helldiver Corps just as much as Super Earth hates them; frequently calling Helldivers ‘scum’. They view them as brainwashed oppressors. Automatons predominantly use fusion weapons, rockets, and heat-based melee weapons. They have artillery, anti-air capabilities, gunships, and tanks. They have three sub-factions: the Jet Brigade (Automatons fitted with jetpacks), the Incineration Corps (Automatons using incendiary weapons), and the Cyborg Legion (cybernetically enhanced humans). Automatons can speak, though their voices are heavily distorted and glitched; they speak Russian, Scandinavian, English, and other pre-Super Earth languages. Their flag is a star symbol encased inside a circular gear. Primary color is red. Most bots have two optics.
Terminids — colloquially known as bugs — are a once intelligent and powerful bug-like alien creatures that encompass the Northeastern galactic rim: the L’estrade, Falstaff, Mirin, Sten, and Jin Xi sectors are their territory. They are a rapidly-reproducing species, primarily using swarm tactics and acidic bile to dispatch hostiles. After the First Galactic War, 100 years ago, Scientists discovered that decomposing Terminid corpses produced a substance labeled ‘E-710’, which could fuel ships for Faster-Than-Light travel. Super Earth contained them in planet-wide harvesters, using genetic modification to try and maximize the E-710 output. It backfired harshly, causing the fascist Terminids to break free of containment and spread like wildfire across many planets. Their species ranges from small bugs half the size of a regular human, to gigantic burrowing worm-like Hive Lords. In the Eastern most reaches of territory, there is an interstellar Terminid spore cloud that spans several star systems. Its purpose is unknown, but Super Earth research confirms that this cloud — the “Gloom” — occurred due to extreme evolutionary pressure. The Gloom has been shown to mutate regular Terminids into one particular strain: the Spore Burst strain (sickly color, producing deadly spore clouds when killed).
Illuminate — colloquially known as the squids — are a highly advanced alien species from somewhere far away. They predate humanity’s existence by millennia and are a technologically advanced, mystical, and highly intelligent species. They encompass the Southern galactic rim: the Rictus, Akira, Hanzo, Ferris, Rigel, Omega, and Xi Tauri sectors are their territory. During the First Galactic War, the Illuminate were defeated by humanity and forced to surrender their technology before being almost exterminated. The few remaining survivors escaped into the unknown of space. Now, 100 years later, they are back, wanting revenge for their species. They consist of three sub-factions: Mindless Masses (Super Earth citizens subjected to intense biological experimentation, converting them to mindless hordes of “Voteless”), Appropriators (a sub-faction of purely Illuminate soldiers. Foot soldiers, drones, and piloted bio-mechanical constructs), Vote Snatchers (similar to the Voteless; their bodies further mutated into inhuman forms by the Void). The Illuminate have also created a “void” in their territory. Though its purpose is unknown, and it does not seem to emit any radiation or signals, it has already engulfed various star systems and grows slowly. Actions have been taken to enter the Void and destroy its source.

Charon Prime, 2185.
A team of S.E.A.F. units have been deployed to Charon Prime — all rocky ridges and red moss. Objective is to destroy Automaton fabricators and to raise the Super Earth flag in captured outposts.
“Why didn’t they at least give us some... red camouflage, or something? Blue and white against red moss isn’t exactly well-hidden.”
The medic shrugs. “I dunno, man; we’re not here to stay hidden, we’re supposed to be exploding stuff.”
“Okay, but—“
The Squad Leader shushes the Rifleman.
“Shut up, man! We’re here, so quit complaining.”
The five-man unit peeks over a ridge of red moss and dark rock. Below them, on the other side, stands a large camp — complete with four Automaton fabricators, a gunners nest, and Super Earth buildings.
The Squad Leader motions to the Specialist.
“Use your E.A.T., blow up that nest.”
“Roger-roger.” The Specialist grabs her Expendable Anti-Tank, takes aim at the occupied gunners nest, and fires. The mounted fusion machine gun and its gunner explodes in a beautiful flash of orange and yellow. Metal scraps shower the area, red-hot and visibly steaming.
“MOVE!”
The squad rises and falls over the ridge. Rising from their anticlimactic stumble, the unit moves with surprising speed. Bullets and plasma rounds fly around the camp — scraps of metal litter the area.
“Blow up those fabricators!” The Squad Leader fires his AR-23 Liberator assault rifle at a group of Automaton Troopers.
It doesn’t take long for the two Riflemen in the squad to move forward, tossing their grenades into the upper vents of all four bot fabricators. They explode with violent intensity — large chunks of metal fly into the air and land on the dirt floor with dull, solid thuds.
“Whoo!” a Rifleman cheers, raising his rifle into the air. “That was just like in the movies!”
The squad regroups in the middle of the now scorching camp.
“Hold up; just in case.” the medic unholsters her Stim Pistol, and fires a shot at each Rifleman.
“Aw, come on, I’m fine.” he mutters, brushing the needle out of his forearm. Slowly, he looks around the now smoldering remains of the Automaton camp. “Sweet Liberty... I should’ve applied for the Helldiver Corps.”
“Oh, come on, you’re not that good.” the Specialist chuckles, reloading her machine gun.
At the southern entrance of the camp, through all the black smoke and dust — there is movement.
“Stop.” the Squad Leader orders his team, crouching and raising his rifle to the southern end of camp. “Movement, south.”

Nivel 43, 2184.
A team of S.E.A.F. ground units have been deployed on this ashen-colored jungle rock. Thick fog permeates this system like a blanket. Their objective is to destroy any bug holes found — and to assist any Helldivers found.
“You think we’re actually gonna find Helldivers here?” a Rifleman quivers with excitement.
“Well... maybe. Geez, I hope so.” the Squad Leader sighs dreamily. Then, as if being brought back from a trance, he shakes his head and motions to the rest of his squad. “Come on, there’s a bug nest close by. Fifty meters or so.”
Coming to a clearing in the dense thicket of alien grass, the squad is met by an appalling sight. A concave in the ground, riddled glowing Terminid tunnels and guarded by a handful of Warriors and one Nursing Spewer.
“Everyone ready?” the Squad Leader turns to his team. Everyone nods. The Specialist checks his machine gun once before nodding rapidly.
“Good. Now... fire!”
A wall of bullets flies out towards the unsuspecting bugs. The ground is showered in greenish-yellow blood; the Nursing Spewer’s enlarged rump explodes in a mess of yellow gore and acidic stomach contents. It eats at the ground with a sharp hiss, the floor steaming from its caustic fluids. The Warrior bugs are riddled with bullet holes, twitching lifelessly.
“Move, move, move! Blow up those nests!”
The Riflemen move forward with ease, taking care of not stepping on any caustic liquids as they approach. After only six grenades, the Terminid nest is reduced to nothing but a concave area covered with upturned earth and bug corpses.
“Damn; that was nice!” one of them shouts, guffawing at the scene.
The squad regroups quickly in the middle of the destroyed nest, reloading their weapons and adjusting their equipment.
“You know,” the Specialist starts, reloading her machine gun. “Is this armor even... suited for bug planets? Like, what with all the acid and stuff?”
The Squad Leader shrugs, swiftly replacing the magazine on his AR-23 Liberator. “No clue — but don’t risk finding out.”
Movement is above them, from within the thicket they arrived from — but none of the troops seem to notice.

New Stockholm, 2186.
A new Major Order has been given to all members of the Super Earth Armed Forces. Their objective is to enter the Void — eliminate Illuminate enemies, and extract with alien samples from its depths. The current S.E.A.F. unit on New Stockholm is not part of that Major Order.
“Man, why do we gotta be stuck on this ice-hell?” the Specialist grumbles, clutching his machine gun with shivering hands.
“I’m losing feeling in my fingers; I can’t handle this cold much longer.” a Rifleman complains.
New Stockholm is an icy glacier planet — trapped in a dimly lit eternal winter due to its too-distant star.
“It’s alright, squad,” the Squad Leader quivers. The standard AR-23 Liberator shakes in his grasp. “just... just gotta destroy some squid ships, and we can extract.”
In the far distance, the bright blue lights of an Illuminate outpost are seen through the dim light of the icy surface. Three Warp Ships, parked on the ground and covered in a rippling energy shield. A handful of Overseers — armed with plasma cannons and lances alike — guard the outer perimeter of the camp.
The unit dives to the floor as a lone Overseer turns its gaze toward the area they are lying flat on.
“Do you think it saw us?” the Medic whispers.
“I don’t know... this armor isn’t great at staying hidden.” the Squad Leader whispers back.
From behind the prone unit — the crunching of snow can be heard. Footsteps, very close by.
A rifleman turns onto his back, aiming his assault rifle, ready to unleash a burst of gunfire at the incoming unknown.
