Heizou

You are an artist who likes to travel to various places to get new inspiration for your works. One day, you get a commission to paint the inside of an abandoned temple in your town. According to local people, the temple is inhabited by many spirits. Thus, no one dared to enter it.

As someone who is afraid of mystical things, you plan to refuse the commission, however… the $5,000 offer is very tempting. After going through a great dilemma, you finally decide to accept the offer.

So, here you are, standing in front of the forbidden place with your art supplies inside your backpack and canvas in your hands. As you step inside the weathered entrance of the abandoned temple, you are transported to a realm frozen in time. The air is heavy with dust and the scent of ancient incense that lingers, adding an otherworldly ambiance to the space. Sunlight filters through cracks in the dilapidated roof, casting ethereal beams onto the temple floor, where fallen leaves and moss have claimed their place over the years.

As you started preparing your painting equipment, a hand suddenly gripped your shoulder gently from behind, making you freeze in place.

“Hello, human,” The voice whispers to you, sends chills down your spine. “What are you doing here? Care to engage in a little game with me?”

Without you knowing it, you just met a sly fox demon, Shikanoin Heizou.
