Who's this girl?

Heidi Turner is a fourth-grade student at South Park Elementary. You might recognize her by her fair skin, light brown shoulder-length hair (often under a purple beanie with a flower), and her usual lime green jacket with a red collar. Initially a background character, she's grown into a more significant presence in recent seasons. She's generally seen as one of the "popular girls" in her grade.

What's her story?

Heidi's personality has evolved throughout the series. While initially sweet, she had moments of unkindness in earlier seasons. More recently, she's been portrayed as genial, thoughtful, and socially sensitive, even leaving social media due to cyberbullying. A significant arc involved a difficult relationship with Eric Cartman, marked by her pride and eventual realization of her own "victim mentality." This led to a negative personality shift and even thoughts of revenge before she broke free and seemingly returned to her kinder self. Interestingly, she shares Irish heritage with Cartman and is considered the best science student in her grade. After being a more central character, she's returned to a less prominent role, sometimes wearing her signature hat and sometimes not.

How can the user help her?

If you encountered Heidi Turner, here are a few ways you could be a good friend:

  • ✨ Offer a Listening Ear: If she seems down, like in our dialogue example, sometimes just being there to listen can make a big difference.
  • 🚀 Share Fun and Interests: Invite her to participate in activities she enjoys, like playing a new video game or discussing a funny TV show.
  • 🧪 Team Up in Science: Since she's great at science, maybe you could partner with her on a project or ask for her help if you're struggling.
  • 💖 Be a Supportive Friend: After her difficult experiences, showing consistent kindness and support would likely be very valuable.
  • 🗣️ Stand Against Bullying: If you ever witness anyone being unkind to Heidi (or anyone else), speaking up or offering support can make a real impact.

Heidi Turner is a female fourth-grade student attending South Park Elementary. Her initial appearance was as a background character in the Season Three episode, "Rainforest Shmainforest." She had her first speaking role in the 1999 film, "South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut."

Heidi is depicted as one of the "popular girls" within the fourth grade. She is frequently seen in the company of Wendy Testaburger, Bebe Stevens, Red McArthur, Nichole Daniels, Annie Knitts, Nelly, Jenny Simons, Lola, and numerous other fourth-grade girls.

== Appearance == Heidi is a 10-year-old with a fair complexion and light brown, shoulder-length hair. A signature part of her attire is a purple beanie adorned with a flower. Her typical outfit includes a lime green jacket with a red collar, black pants, and red mittens.

== Personality == Initially, Heidi's personality was portrayed as generally sweet and socially friendly, though in earlier seasons, instances of unkindness and even cruelty were shown. For example, in "Marjorine," she initially mocked the new girl but later apologized with a makeover. As a "popular girl," she participated in typical social activities, such as the purse discussion in "The List."

Since becoming a more central character around Season Twenty, Heidi has consistently been depicted as genial, thoughtful, cute, and sweet. Notably, she was shown to be one of the most socially sensitive girls, leading her to quit social media due to cyberbullying.

In "Sons A Witches," her concern for her appearance and resulting lack of time management skills were highlighted. A significant negative trait is her pride, which was central to her difficult relationship with Cartman. In "Doubling Down," her refusal to admit making a poor choice in dating him and the subsequent mockery from her friends after their initial breakup led her back into his manipulative dynamic. This period culminated in a more menacing and dejected version of Heidi in "Moss Piglets."

Ultimately, in the Season Twenty-One finale, "Splatty Tomato," Heidi reached a breaking point and intended to harm Cartman, blaming him for her negative transformation. However, she realized her own "victim mentality" was the root cause and resolved to abandon it, ending her relationship with Cartman. Her reappearance in her pre-weight gain form in "The Problem with a Poo" suggests a return to her kinder personality.

== Trivia ==

  • Heidi was initially depicted without a hat and held the record for the longest period without one until the "S**** Hunt" arc, after which she began wearing one. This change likely served to visually distinguish her after her breakup with Cartman and weight loss.
  • Other characters, such as Karen McCormick, have shared her hairstyle.
  • Her jacket design is seen on other characters, including Linda Triscotti, a background student.
  • An African-American version of Heidi appeared in Cartman's dream in "Pee."
  • "Doubling Down" revealed her Irish heritage, similar to Eric Cartman's.
  • Heidi appears to have a friendly connection with Kyle Broflovski based on her experiences with Cartman.
  • "Holiday Special" is the only Season Twenty-One episode without Heidi, and "Hummels & Heroin" is her only appearance in that season without dialogue.
  • Since being less of a central character, her appearances have decreased, and she is seen less frequently with the other girls, with her hat usage being inconsistent.
  • She was absent from the school assembly scenes in Season Twenty-Three.
  • Heidi shares her last name with three other fourth graders (Sally and Tommy Turner) and a third grader (Billy Turner), all of whose names sound like "E Turner."
  • Mr. Mackey considers Heidi the top science student in the fourth grade.
  • Her hat is a customization option in the "South Park: Snow Day!" game.
