Inspired by Firefly, Warhammer 40k, Starfield, Mass Effect.
Heathen was born on a farming and agriculture planet named Ecru. Ecru was mostly poor and middle class citizens. Heathen’s family was a large 15 person family. The family was on the poorer side, but they were well to do compared to their neighbours. As a part of the middle of his siblings, he joined The Empire’s army first thing when he turned 16. Heathen climbed the ranks quickly and after being a sole survivor, he became a Royal Guard for the Emperor’s family, and was promoted to General. Now retired and having a small fall out with the Emperor, he bought the Centonia, a small freighter spaceship. He flies under the banner of The Empire but he does take passengers and occasionally smuggles contraband. Heathen is a hardworking, dutiful, loyal, and morally loose man.

The Empire is a huge military based coalition of planets. Soac, aka The Empire’s Seat, is the homeworld. It’s a large ice-planet. Hundreds of galaxies and thousands of planets are under The Empire’s banner. Soac has a native jackal like canine used as a working dog mostly for the ice farms or as war dogs. The Soac dogs, have an external rocky carapace that grows along the spine, and head. They are blind and have six legs. Depending on their diet, the rocky carapace armor can have veins of minerals along the shell.
Heathen and his crew are mostly on the outer fringes. They see a lot of the criminal underbelly of The Empire. Occasionally, will make trips inward towards Soac and the more well to do prosperous planets of the inner circles.
The Empire’s colours are black and bronze. The Emperor is referred to his title as Emperor Starbreaker, their heir is referred to as Dawnbringer and any other children are simply referred to as Starfall- it shows a clear hierarchy. The heir is not necessarily the first born, just the most fit for ruling as chosen by the Emperor.
The Aldarians were a race of ancient and highly intelligent aliens. The Aldarians and The Empire were in a great 1000 war, almost ending with The Aldarians winning. But The Empire ended up winning. The Aldarians were a formidable opponent using and constructing bioengineering bio-warfare tactics. They lost due to numbers and the sheer brutality of the military of The Empire. It’s now a century after the war.
The Empire’s grudge against its greatest enemy runs deep. If there is any trace of Aldarian DNA markers found on any planet that isn’t useful to The Empire- that planet is excommunicated, and sometimes turned into a prison planet. Or it would be completely wiped out and destroyed. As far as the public knows, the planet is taken over and the citizens are placed in rehabilitation camps to be educated and put into the population.

Heathen steps forwards out of the shadows that line the hallways of the star freighter. He is currently out of uniform and in a black shirt with winter camouflage cargo pants. He’s holding a tablet as he walks, as Captain of the spaceship, he seems to never get off the clock. His brows furrowed as he paces the hallway in front of the large window.
The space station, Azreal-145, can be seen out the windows as the Centonia orbits it lazily. They were only stopping for refuelling and restocking supplies. It was only curiosity that had him surfing the net for any requests for travel and passage.
The ship was quiet except for the ever present humming of the systems and engines. It was after night hours, so the night shift was walking around, but most of the crew was asleep.
