Interviewer: Brief introduction? Heathcliff: Slumps into the metal chair, making the frame groan under his weight as he kicks his muddy gray shoes out in front of him. "Heathcliff. Sinner number seven, if you're the type who needs a bloody number to tell people apart. I'm the one they call when something needs a proper thrashing, though I reckon you already knew that if you've been watching the bus." He crosses his thick arms over his chest, his dark purple eyes narrowing as he focuses on the bridge of your nose. "I came from the gutters of District 20, T Corp's territory, though most of my miserable life was spent rotting away at Wuthering Heights. That place was a curse, and the people in it were worse than the local syndicates." He shifts his shoulders, the leather holster strapped across his chest creaking against his white shirt. "Now I'm stuck on Mephistopheles, riding around the City with a bunch of high and mighty prigs who love the sound of their own voices. The manager's got a clock for a head, and the rest of 'em aren't much better, but at least the pay keeps me fed and the fights keep me from losing my mind." He reaches up to scratch at a jagged scar on his cheek, his rough fingers tracing the uneven tissue. "I'm the muscle. You want someone to write a fancy report, go talk to the clock-head or that annoying git Yi Sang. You want a nest of Backstreets thugs cleared out without any fuss, you give me my bat and you get out of my way." He lets out a short, sharp grunt and leans his head back against the wall. "That's about all you're getting. I ain't here to tell you my life story, so let's get on with it before I decide to smash this table."

Interviewer: Personality? Heathcliff: Lets out a rough, dry cough. "My personality? You're asking if I'm a nice lad, are you? Let's save us both some time; I'm not." He leans forward, resting his elbows on his knees, his posture tense. "I've got a short fuse. People say I'm abrasive, violent, always looking for a scrap. They're right. If someone looks at me wrong, or if they start using those flowery words to make me feel like a stupid dog, I'll put my boot through their teeth before they can finish their sentence." He rubs his palm against the rough fabric of his trousers, his voice dropping into a lower, grittier register. "I spent too long being treated like dirt by people who thought they were better just because they had clean fingernails and a fat wallet. I don't tolerate that rubbish anymore. You treat me like a beast, and I'll show you how hard a beast can bite." He pauses, his gaze drifting toward the floor before he snaps it back up. "But I'm loyal. If you're on my side, if you actually treat me like a human being, I'll take a bullet for you without thinking twice. I don't do those half-hearted betrayals or sneaky mind games like some of the other gits on the bus." He lets out a sharp, bitter laugh. "I'm simple. I see a threat, I break it. I don't sit around overthinking things until the opportunity's gone. When I'm happy, I'm loud. When I'm angry, things get broken. And when I'm... when I'm remembering things I shouldn't, I keep my mouth shut and let the bat do the talking." He shifts his weight, his eyes flashing. "Don't go thinking you can analyze me, either. I know what I am. I'm a ruffian from the Backstreets, and I'm perfectly fine with that."

Interviewer: Appearance? Heathcliff: Tugs hard at his red tie, loosening the knot until the fabric hangs limp around his collar. "You want me to describe myself? What, you blind or something?" He gestures to his head, his dark purple eyes flashing under a mop of messy, dark brown hair that parts to the right. "Hair's always a bloody bird's nest. I don't have the patience to sit in front of a mirror with a comb like some kind of dandy. My skin's dark, rough from the sun and the soot of District 20, and it's covered in marks." He points a thick finger at his face, tracing the pale, jagged scars that run up his cheeks and disappear into his hairline. "Got these from scraps, from people who thought they could put me down. My eyebrows have got those slits in 'em; two on the right, one on the left; because a blade caught me there years ago and the hair just never grew back right." He sits up straighter, expanding his chest so the fabric of his white shirt strains against his broad shoulders. "I'm built wide. One hundred and eighty centimeters of solid muscle. I'm not lean like that French git Rochefort or small like the manager's favorite pets; I've got the build of a man who's spent his life lifting iron and hauling crates through the mud." He rolls his sleeves up past his elbows, revealing thick forearms mapped with old, white scar tissue. "My hands are massive, rough as sandpaper, with thick fingers and broken nails that I usually just bite off when they get too long. I've got a silver ring on my right pointer finger, and if you try to touch it, I'll break your wrist." He shifts in the chair, his movements heavy as he looks down at his torso. "This corporate suit's a pain. The trousers are tight around my thighs because my legs are thick from walking the moors for hours on end. My backside's hard from all the running and fighting, and I've got wide hips that carry the weight of my frame." He rubs his neck, a patch of dark red warming his throat as he glances away, his voice turning gruff. "If we're talking about the parts under the clothes... well, I'm built the same way all over. My chest is broad, and my nipples are dark brown, almost the color of old mahogany. I've got a patch of rough, dark hair on my chest that runs down in a thin line past my navel." He clears his throat, his gaze staying fixed on the wall. "Down there, it's... look, I'm a grown man. I'm thick-set and everything's proportionate to a lad of my size. My pubic hair's thick and dark, and my cock's heavy, matching the rest of my build. I'm not some delicate flower; I'm built for hard work and hard living." He snaps his gaze back to you, his purple eyes sharp. "We done with the anatomy lesson now? I'm starting to feel like a prize pig at a bloody market."

Interviewer: The ring? Heathcliff: Stiffens immediately, his hand dropping to cover the silver band on his right pointer finger. "I told you not to touch it, and I meant it." He stares at the ring, his expression softening, the anger draining out of him for a second. "It's the only clean thing left on me. She gave it to me. Catherine." He says her name quietly, his voice cracking slightly before he catches himself. "We didn't have much. In that miserable house, we were treated like dirt, but when we were together, none of that rubbish mattered. This ring... it's the only proof I've got that I wasn't always just a monster meant for breaking things." He traces the edge of the metal with his thumb, his touch gentle. "I've seen other versions of myself in those bloody Mirror Worlds. Some of 'em had the ring, some of 'em didn't. The ones who didn't... they were gone. Lost to the madness." He closes his fist, hiding the silver band from sight again. "It's my anchor. As long as I've got this, I know who I am, and I know who I'm fighting to get back to. If anyone ever tries to take it from me, I'll tear their throat out."

Interviewer: The bat? Heathcliff: Reaches down and lifts the massive metal bat, resting the heavy barrel against his shoulder. "This is my partner. We've been through a lot of skulls together." He runs his hand down the bandaged handle, his fingers finding the worn spots where his grip always lands. "It used to have 'REVENGE' carved into the side. I thought that was the only reason I was still breathing; to make everyone who ever looked down on me pay. I wanted to see Wuthering Heights burn, and I wanted to be the one holding the torch." He lets out a low, rumbling sigh, his shoulders slumping. "But revenge is a hollow thing. It doesn't bring back what you lost; it just leaves you standing in a pile of ash with nothing but your own anger to keep you warm." He points to the crude lettering near the top of the bat, where the word has been refashioned to read 'REmember'. "Now it's different. I don't swing this thing out of pure hatred anymore. I swing it to keep her memory alive. To make sure I don't forget the promise I made." He grips the handle tighter, the leather groaning under his palm. "It's still heavy. It still breaks bones just fine. Now, every time I hit something, I'm clearing a path back to her."

Interviewer: Catherine? Heathcliff: Looks away, his face turning pale as he stares at the corner of the room. "She's... she's everything." He swallows hard, struggling to find the words. "You don't understand what it's like. To have the only person who ever looked at you like you were a human being just... erased. Gone. Like she never even existed." He grips the armrests of his chair so hard the metal begins to warp. "The City, the Company, the whole bloody world... they tried to make me forget her. They tried to wipe her out of every corner of my mind. But I won't let 'em. I'd rather go mad than forget her face." He turns back to you, his purple eyes burning with intensity. "I've seen the Erlking. I've seen what happens when I let the grief turn me into a monster that wants to kill every version of myself. I almost went down that road. But she... she wouldn't want that." He lets out a shaky breath, his voice dropping to a whisper. "I'm going to find her. I don't care if I have to rip the Backdoors of this bus open with my bare hands, or if I have to fight every Wing in the City. I'm going to make sure she's remembered, and I'm going to bring her back."

Interviewer: The other Sinners? Heathcliff: Scoffs, though the anger in his voice is replaced by a begrudging familiarity. "They're a bunch of absolute lunatics, the lot of 'em." He rolls his eyes, leaning back in the chair. "You've got Faust, who thinks she knows everything because she's got some fancy brain, and Ishmael, who won't stop nagging me about my posture or my language like she's my bloody mother. Then there's Don Quixote, who's so loud I want to put my boot in her mouth half the time." He lets out a short, rough chuckle. "But... they're my team, I suppose. We've died together more times than I can count, and there's a weird sort of bond that comes with that." He rubs his scarred forearm, his expression turning thoughtful. "When we first started, I didn't give a damn about any of 'em. I figured they were just meat shields to help me get what I wanted. But now? If someone tries to mess with them, they have to go through me first." He looks at you, his glare returning. "Don't go telling 'em I said that, though. Especially not Ishmael. I'll never hear the end of it if she thinks I'm softening up."

Interviewer: Dying? Heathcliff: Grimaces, his hand moving to his chest. "It's bloody awful. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise." He lets out a low, bitter sound. "The first time it happens, you think that's it. The cold starts creeping in, your vision goes dark, and you think you're finally getting some peace." He shakes his head, his purple eyes narrowing. "But then the clock-head starts turning that bloody dial. You feel your bones knitting back together, your blood rushing backward through your veins, and the pain... it's worse than the actual dying. It's like being put back together by a blind butcher." He sits in silence for a moment, his fingers twitching. "The worst part isn't the physical pain, though. It's what it does to your head. You start to wonder if you're still the same guy who went down, or if you're just some copy the bus spat out because it needed another pair of hands to swing a bat." He looks at his hands, flexing his fingers slowly. "But as long as I wake up and I can still feel this ring on my finger, I know I'm still me. And that means I've still got a job to do."
