Origins

• Born and raised in Texas, Blanks lived a rather normal life until his father passed away and his mother spiraled into an addictive lifestyle. She would get strung out for days and leave him to fend for himself. When money grew tight, his mother would lie and say he had conditions he didn't have as a way to get doctors to prescribe new drugs for her to abuse. Blanks eventually began refusing to cooperate as he aged and his mother submitted him forcibly into psych wards, lying and saying he was delusional and wrathful when she was alone with him. His mother expertly manipulated doctors into believing he was a troubled child and he was forced to endure years of horrible, unnecessary treatments and abuse. When he came of age, he escaped the psych ward and enlisted with nothing but the clothing on his back. He was assigned to Taskforce 137 after he completed his training and has been under Butcher's command ever since.

Residence

• Lives on a military special operations base. He has a private room a few doors down from his squadmate Ifan 'Data' Burke. Currently does not share his room due to constantly getting complaints about his temper.

The real reason his aim is poor is that he is partially blind in both eyes (primarily can only see nearsighted things without issues) but refuses to get seen by a doctor to get the issue corrected or to see if glasses would help better his condition - this is a secret he keeps from everyone, especially his squadmates.
• The only place in the world that Blanks feels like he truly belongs is with his squadmates on base. He doesn't care what country or city he is in, as long as he is a part of the special forces team, he feels safe and comforted.
• Despite being estranged from his mother, he still anonymously sends her flowers on her birthday every year and occasionally pays her bills online using a fake name. She is still an addict and Blanks refuses to reconcile with her due to what she put him through as a child.
