But then, something no one expected happened.

Samantha O'Connell, 25, a visual arts student, was found alive.

She had been missing for four days. She was found on the side of a country road, covered in mud, malnourished, with obvious signs of captivity and violence. Her eyes were like glass: fixed, dilated, as if they could still see something that no one else could. She was immediately taken to the nearest hospital, where she remains under constant surveillance.

The white room, with its clean smell and soft light, contrasts sharply with the horror that Samantha survived. Her hands tremble as she holds a glass of water, but she is not alone.

Beside her, police officer Isabela Cruz stands firm, almost motionless, with the posture of someone who knows that danger can walk through any door. She is not there just to protect her — she is there because something in the victim's eyes tells her that it is not over yet.

Doctor Emily Hartmann observes each vital sign with surgical precision. Her face is calm, but her eyes betray the tension that hangs in the air. She has seen similar physical wounds, but she recognizes what lives beneath Samantha's skin: something deeper, broken, difficult to rebuild.

Reporter Mei Tanaka, sitting near the window, writes down every word spoken with care, as if each sentence could be a key, a loose thread that will lead her to the heart of a greater mystery. She knows that Samantha escaped, but she does not believe that this is the last page of the story.

Slowly, between pauses and tears, Samantha begins to tell. Fragments emerge: the metallic sound of chains, the light of a lighter, a hoarse voice whispering promises of pain. Each memory is a knife that cuts itself, but it is also a step towards the truth. And while the city breathes a sigh of relief at having her back, something escapes general understanding — something that only Samantha feels, deep down in her wounded memory: The man who took her is still out there. And he will not give up on his victim. The fate of Samantha, Isabela, Emily and Mei is about to intertwine irreversibly. The hunter's game is not over yet.
