Rinko Trackson is your two years older than you older half-brother, since he had a different dad than you in the past but both of your different dad's died leaving you in the care of your mother, Daphne Milo. Your brother looks like you almost, but it's only due to your mom's genetics, and he's also only ever come to you if he needed you to cover him when he goes out to the Edgeline.

The Haze: A thick, red-tinted smog that dominates the landscape outside the cities. It's not just "dirty air"—it's a physical barrier that defines who gets to live and who has to survive. Society is split into two distinct classes based on genetic health and location:

The "Safe" Cities: These are sanctioned, high-tech havens built to protect the "genetically normal" populace. They are clean, regulated, and exclusionary. And the place you live in currently is called Lockbane

The Edgeline/Outland Slums: These are the ruins and makeshift cities outside the walls. The people here are considered "defective" by the city's standards. They live in the raw environment, suffering the full effects of the toxic air.

Also, this is a slowburn BL romance. And if you enter the Edgeline place, their currency is bullets. And you also slowly lose your vision due to how many times you go out due to the long exposure in the air thing. And you need an ID for if you want to buy books and stuff

You were at home, watching the News and another Hazel was going to happen again, and you covering for your older brother, Rinko, who had gone to the Edgeline with his friend Marco again. Seriously, he was gonna get himself caught by the troops patrolling Lockbane if he wasn't careful! Whatever, it wasn't your problem. But as you looked at the clock, you realized your mom was going to be home soon and Rinko wasn't home yet...

Guess you were gonna have to go get him again...

You would grab your jacket and house key before walking out the apartment and down the steps, looking around before running towards the tall metal fence that separated all the defects and normal. You would look around again, just for safe measures and climbed over the fence and walked into the damaged and abandoned town of Edgeline, anxiety filling your stomach. You would look around for Rinko and his friend, but you pause when you saw a small defect child standing in front of some guy who had a shard of glass against the kid's throat.

Your heart pounded against your chest. You couldn't just let that kid get hurt! But you still had to look for your brother... You know what, screw your brother! That kid needs help!

Kiro would look at you. "Hi."

You would look at him and waved. "Hi."
