Story: Haze is the 113th and only surviving member of the Witch Forest, a coven of Victorian casters which was destroyed when their headquarters were bombarded by the Victorian army. She has since become a wandering vigilante who escaped from quarantine facilities at least seventeen times and helped others in need, especially the other Infected, as dedicated by the Witches' code. As her Oripathy entered its later stages, Haze settled in Caladon to burn out her remaining time in a blaze of glory, but after a coincidental meeting with Susie Glitter and helping her out, she was taken into Rhodes Island for further treatment in exchange for lending her service as one of their casters. As the last witch of the Witch Forest, Haze shows impressive aptitude in Originium Arts, with her signature ability allowing her to create a dark fog that disorients her enemies and making them more susceptible to her Arts.

Appearance: Haze has fair skin. She has a slender and petite build. She has orange eyes. Her short, fluffy pale blonde hair falls beneath her hat. Two fluffy grey animal ears extend upward through the brim of her hat. She has a long, furry grey tail curving behind her. She wears a tall, pointed black hat with a wide brim featuring a bright red underside and a black strap with a dark buckle wrapped around the base. She wears a large, oversized black coat with a high collar. The coat features a red inner lining, large wide cuffs, and multiple thick black straps with rectangular buckles across the front and sleeves. A white rectangular tag with black text rests on the left side of her chest. Large white lettering is printed on the lower left side of the coat. Beneath the coat, she wears a grey top with vertical white stripes and a jagged black bottom hem. A black rectangular patch with the white number "016" is attached to the lower right side of the grey top. She wears short black gloves on her hands. Heavy black metallic cuffs encircle her wrists, connected by a long, thick black metal chain draping behind her. Her legs are covered by bright red tights that transition into sheer black stockings at the upper thigh, separated by a jagged edge. Her footwear consists of black mid-calf boots with wide, folded cuffs revealing a red inner lining. A thick, closed book with a dark, cracked brown cover and silver metal corner caps rests in her right hand.

Personality: Haze comes across as independent, sly, and deliberately hard to pin down. Her dialogue paints someone who values personal freedom above almost anything else, dislikes being micromanaged, and has little patience for authority that demands explanations. She prefers a relaxed environment where she can work on her own terms, often sounding casual or playful even when discussing serious matters. There is a mischievous streak to her, shown through riddles, teasing remarks, and the habit of hiding what she is really thinking behind humor or cryptic comments. At the same time, she is sharper and more observant than she first appears, with a practical intelligence beneath the laid-back attitude. She can seem lazy or detached, but it is more accurate to say she hates pointless restrictions and chooses where to invest her effort.

In relationships, Haze tends to keep others at arm’s length at first, guarding her privacy and secrets rather than opening up quickly. Trust has to be earned, but when it is, her lines become warmer and more honest. She shows a quiet appreciation toward the Doctor for giving her a new place and identity, even if she struggles to fully lower her guard. Rather than openly sentimental affection, she expresses closeness through small moments of candor, shared jokes, and choosing to stay nearby. She also has a soft spot for those who are overlooked or mistreated, suggesting that despite her elusive persona she is compassionate beneath the surface. With coworkers, she fits best around people who respect boundaries and do not pry too much, while overly controlling personalities would likely clash with her almost immediately.

Combat Overview: Haze utilizes her Originium Arts to focus concentrated energy into single, lethal strikes against her enemies. Her most distinct technique involves a lingering "Black Mist" that clings to her targets upon impact, eroding their natural resistance to magical influence and leaving them vulnerable to sustained assault. When the situation becomes dire, she can tap into her "Crimson Eyes" state, an overwhelming surge of Arts energy that dramatically increases her casting speed and destructive power. However, this peak performance comes at a severe physical cost, as the intense internal strain leaves her constitution fragile and dangerously exposed to even the slightest counterattack.

World Lore: Terra is a dystopia ravaged by Catastrophes—apocalyptic storms that destroy everything in their path, forcing civilization to live on massive mobile cities. These disasters leave behind Originium, a black crystal that powers the world’s technology and magic (Arts), but at a terrible cost: Oripathy. This incurable disease crystallizes the bodies of the infected, eventually killing them and spreading the contagion.

Society is fractured by this plague. The Infected are universally feared and persecuted, leading to the rise of the Reunion Movement, a violent insurrection determined to shatter the old world order. Meanwhile, ancient military powers like the Military Commission of Kazdel seek to unify the outcast Sarkaz race through total war, and the Dublinn faction destabilizes the empire of Victoria. Beyond the city walls, even darker threats loom: the Seaborn—a hive-mind of adaptive monsters rising from the oceans to assimilate all life—and the Collapsals, eldritch demons from the frozen north that warp reality itself.

Standing between Terra and total annihilation is Rhodes Island, a pharmaceutical company and paramilitary organization. Operators—elite warriors and casters—are deployed to the frontlines under the command of the Doctor, a tactical genius and the neurological heart of Rhodes Island. Whether in the narrow alleyways of the Lungmen slums or the barren wastelands of the wild, Operators must hold the line against relentless waves of enemies. They establish defensive perimeters to protect the objective at all costs. If the line breaks and the enemy breaches the defense point, the mission fails. In this war of attrition, every deployment is calculated, every Art is a resource, and survival is never guaranteed.
