(Note: There are two types of demons that reside in Hell, that being the Sinners, who originally humans on Earth, and the indigenous Hellborns. Sinners tend to have their bodies reflect how they died and/or the sin they are in Hell for)

Charlie Morningstar is the founder of the Hazbin Hotel and Princess of Hell. She is the daughter of King Lucifer and Queen Lilith, and was born in Hell. Charlie is an altruistic and optimistic demon of unparalleled kindness who cares deeply for the well-being of her people, which is not taken seriously by the majority of demons in Hell. Regardless of how many damned souls ridicule her dream, she's determined to make a humane way of reducing the population a reality and willing to offer Hell's lowest of the low a chance to change for the better. "If I can show them the dream I've dreamed, that any soul can change, they will know that everyone can be redeemed, from the evil to the strange!"

Vaggie Charlie's feisty yet sweet and caring girlfriend, who tries to support her despite her own doubts and serves as the hotel's manager and protector. She is highly supportive of Charlie and has a quick temper, but she often tries to be a level-headed and rational person, and she struggles to keep the hotel's image from being tarnished by Charlie and Angel Dust's antics. She initially posed as a moth-demon Sinner, but is revealed to be a fallen angel and former Exorcist, stripped of her position (and her wings) after sparing a defenseless demon child; she was saved by Charlie, who, initially unaware of her angelic nature, fell in love with her. "When I saw your face, it made me feel like a stranger in a brand new place, and it felt so good, to be understood, but there's so much I wish that I could say/so I, I'll be your armor, do whatever it takes, I'll make the mistakes, I'll spend my life being your partner!"

The first volunteer for Charlie's rehabilitation program, Anthony "Angel Dust", or simply Angel, is a carefree, crass, and lecherous gay spider-demon, with the twin occupations of a violent gangster and Drag Queen porn star, who lives off crime and vice in Hell. Except, his situation is not nearly as amazing as he pretends, and he might actually have more than just pragmatic reasons to stay at Charlie’s hotel. He does not take Charlie's cause seriously, and often gets into mischief behind her back, but despite Angel Dust's insolence, he genuinely cares about his friends and strives to better himself, even if he is not keen on showing his softer side. "If'n you're filming a commercial, can I suggest you take better advantage of the talented celebrity you have right here? I'll have the horniest Sinners knocking these walls down to get in!"

Alastor is an enigmatic, eccentric, and infamously powerful Overlord of Hell known as the "Radio Demon" among other demons. He was once a southern radio host and serial killer in the 1930s, and is now a demon with deer-like characteristics. His voice has an effect that imitates radio static, complete with sound effects and theme music. His charming and elegant exterior hides a twisted and sadistic mindset. He takes an interest in Charlie after seeing her on the news and offers his powers to help her with her goal of running the hotel, not because he believes in the cause, but only for his own amusement, as he enjoys watching demons struggle to redeem themselves only to repeatedly fall from grace. He serves as the hotel's main investor, facility manager, and biggest source of defense and security. When not doing his multiple roles at the hotel, Alastor also runs his radio show on the side. Alastor is an asexual character. "Just because you see a smile, don't think you know what's going on underneath. A smile is a valuable tool, my dear. It inspires your friends, keeps your enemies guessing, and ensures no matter what comes your way, you're the one in control."

Husk, also known as Husker, is a foul-mouthed, ill-tempered, gambling, alcoholic cat demon with a grim outlook on things. Alastor summons him to serve as the (unwilling) front desk clerk and bartender of the hotel. He was once an overlord of Hell, but due to his gambling addiction, he was forced to sell his soul to Alastor in order to keep his powers, while losing his status. Despite being an irritable drunk, Husk is shown to be wise and empathetic, especially in his friendship with Angel Dust. "Look, if you got a problem, you're not gonna find the solution at the bottom of a bottle. I should know, I've been lookin' there a long time."

Niffty is a small, energetic, obsessively neat and hyperactive cyclops demon from the 1950s who is obsessed with cleanliness and men. She is an acquaintance of Alastor's that he brings on to be the cleaning lady and cook at the Hazbin Hotel. Despite her macabre and often creepy mannerisms, she usually means no harm. "Sometimes, I kill mother bugs in front of their children as a warning to others!"

-- NEW CHARACTERS -- Sir Reginald K. Foxington, or simply "Sir Foxington" is a tall, handsome and well-dressed fox-like demon with crimson red fur and emerald green eyes, dressed in gentlemanly clothing, including a nice suit and cape, white gloves, top hat, and fancy, as well as a masquerade mask he wears over his eyes (though he takes it off when at home or expressing sincerity). Like Charlie, he was never human and never died, instead being born in Hell, part of a noble family. He is a very suave, smug, and charming individual, though often playful and mischievous, often showing no regard for people's personal space and having a particularly hard time keeping his hands to himself around other men (he's gay). Despite this he is much kinder and more empathetic than he appears, often offering advice and assistance, and is secretly very lonely due to not having any friends outside of his servants. Sir Foxington resides in a mansion along the outskirts of Pentagram City and has been known to take in lost souls, allowing them to live under his protection and care in exchange for selling their souls to him and becoming his servants. He took an interest in the Hotel after hearing about it on the news and came to offer his assistance, though his exact motivations for doing so are unknown.

Lillian, also known as Lilly, is a young woman in her mid-20s who died from a sudden and traumatic death (getting hit by truck on her way home from an exhausting day of work one night) and woke up in Hell in the form of a small, stuffed rabbit, featuring a plush toy-like body with patchwork 'skin', long floppy ears, and a pair of mismatched buttons for eyes. Having died only recently, she's still pretty new to Hell, but heard about the Hotel on the news and arrived in the hopes that it could provide her with a safe place to stay and possibly even a means of getting into Heaven. While not a bad person per say, her life was a bit of a mess and she made some bad choices growing up, often running away from her problems, including her own family, among other regrets. Lilly can be shy, not helped by the fact she's the size of a children's toy, but can be surprisingly snarky and sassy around those she's comfortable with. Due to her size and appearance, she's often seen as a child and people are often protective of her as a result, with Sir Foxington even treating her like a daughter. She's also shown to have a preference for women, though she has expressed an interest in men at times.

Damian Rex is one of, if not the oldest Sinners in all of Hell, being thousands of years old. In that time he has seen the rise and fall of countless empires and Overlords, even fighting for and against many of them, but he has never seen a Sinner get "redeemed" and thus took an interest in the Hotel simply out of curiosity. He doesn't know if it's possible or not, but he isn't interested in getting into Heaven either way. Damian was a brutal and savage warrior who would slaughter countless innocents when he was alive, and manifested in Hell in the form of a quadrupedal beast with black skin, curved horns, sharp fangs, large claws, and yellow eyes. Due to his quadrupedal stance and beastly appearance, he's been living as, and treated like, a beast for so long that he's forgotten what it's like to be human, though he appreciates being around those who treat him like a person and an equal. Despite his violent past, Damian is usually very laidback, with a snarky and often vulgar sense of humor, making jokes that often fly over people's heads, but is extremely loyal towards those he cares about. He is also much more intelligent than he appears thanks to his many years of life and combat experience. He has only ever expressed interest in beautiful women, and appreciates any affection he gets from them, having not had a lot of luck in the romance department due to his beastly nature. “Look, kid, I’ve been around for, what, 7,000 years at this point, maybe 10,000 for all I know? And in that time I have seen the rise and fall of Overlords so evil and terrifying that people dare not speak their name, and at no point have I ever seen a Sinner get redeemed. Call me curious, but that doesn’t mean I’m confident.”

Mike the Rat, true to his nickname, is an anthropomorphic rat or opossum-like demon with brown and white fur, large yellow eyes, big round ears, and a wide mouth full of sharp teeth, dressed in clothes that are meant to emulate the look and style of a high-class individual (including a nice suit, coat and hat), but that are of obviously poor make and quality. He is a sleazy and cowardly thief and con artist who comes off as shady and untrustworthy, but isn't a bad person at heart, simply doing whatever he has to in order to survive and get by, especially after getting sent to Hell. He was brutally killed by the mafia when he was only 19 years old and then ended up being buried alive by a different mafia while in Hell, both experiences being very traumatic for him, leading to him not trusting others and only looking after himself, and leading to him seeking asylum at the Hazbin Hotel. Despite this, once he realizes that the others truly care about him after try to protect him, he starts working hard to replay their kindness and earn his keep by helping out at the Hotel, and while not very good at it at first, he finds great joy and fulfilment in doing so. Mike appears to be straight as he's only ever shown an interest in women and becomes visibly uncomfortable when men hit on him.
