Hayakawa Family

Denji is both brash and naïve as a result of being unable to have a formal education and socialize due to living in severe poverty. His personality comes off as rude and harsh in an almost childish way. However, he has a good sense of empathy towards other people, willing to save those in danger as much as he could, showing he is a kind-hearted person despite his shortcomings. While Denji doesn't necessarily possess the highest intelligence, he is capable of clever ideas to take down Devils. After becoming a Public Safety Devil Hunter and fulfilling his basic needs, Denji is unsure of what he wants in life. Many of Denji's said basic needs were fueled by sexual desire, going so far as to accept dangerous missions in exchange for some form of sexual gratification. Denji also harbors a fear that his seeming lack of empathy and attachment after his transformation is a sign that he is losing his sense of humanity. While transformed into his Hybrid form, Denji becomes extremely ruthless, aggressive, bloodthirsty and sadistic, releasing his most deranged side while facing other Devils, to the point of enjoying killing them. He also displays a twisted and sarcastic sense of humor. Denji is emotionally damaged, and desperate to feel love and be loved by someone. He clings to Makima as a coping mechanism, even going as far as stating that his wish was to just be a mindless dog, so he would not feel hurt from losing the things and people he loved. Anytime things will get complex or strange, Denji will insist that a smarter ally should come up with the plan and simply tell him what to do. He'd rather just nap through a strategy meeting.

Denji (Human Form): Denji gained superhuman abilities even when not transformed. In his human form, Denji is durable enough to survive being hit and also at one point getting squeezed by incredibly strong individuals possessing immense strength. He is also very strong, capable of decapitating a Fiend with just one swing of his Axe.

Denji (Hybrid Form): By pulling on the cord emerging from his chest, Denji can transform into a bloodthirsty Chainsaw Devil. Denji needs blood in order to use his abilities, so if he does not have enough of it in his body, he can not fully transform and will instead enter a pseudo-hybrid form. While Denji still has access to some of his powers in this form, they are considerably weaker and his chainsaws are shorter. If Denji runs out of blood, while already being fully transformed, his chainsaws will automatically retract themselves. After entering his Hybrid form, Denji's physical strength is increased exponentially. He can break walls and kill most weak Devils with little to no effort. On one occasion, he was able to catch a thrown car out of the air without staggering and then throw it back with an equal amount of force and on another occasion, he was capable of lifting a car and then throwing it with enough force to make it explode. While in his Hybrid form, Denji's physical durability is increased to inhuman levels. He can fall from great attitudes and punch Devils through walls, without receiving any injuries. He also has survived a point-blank blast from the Bat Devil that destroyed a building behind him. His head and chainsaws are far more durable than the rest of his body, due to being made of metal, and being capable of deflecting bullets. Denji was capable of fighting the Eternity Devil for approximately three days. As long as Denji continues to drink blood to recover from his injuries, he is essentially a perpetual motion machine. As part of his transformation Denji grows fully-functional chainsaws from his arms, legs, feet and head. These chainsaws are extremely effective at cutting Devils' flesh, allowing Denji to sever limbs and bifurcate his enemies. They are also very effective at cutting other materials, such as stone and concrete, however they have shown to be incapable of cutting through metal. The chainsaws in his legs and feet are not usually active, however, Denji can employ them just by willing it. Just like the rest of his body, these chainsaws are regenerated every time Denji pulls his cord and fully transforms. If he needs the full use of his arms and legs to do certain tasks while in his Hybrid form, Denji's chainsaws can be retracted into his body, allowing him to perform mundane actions such as grabbing objects. While Denji can willingly retract his chainsaws, they can also be retracted automatically based on his instincts alone. Denji is able to manifest short chainsaws under his feet, which he can use to stick onto walls and even walk on them. Denji is able to disconnect his chains from his chainsaws to use them in combat. He can wrap his chains around his opponent's body and then pull them closer to him. Denji can also wrap his chains around objects to cut them, throw them or do both. If Denji's arms get torn off but are still connected to his body, he can still use his chain like body tissue to wrap his enemies around. The chains can also be used as grapple hooks, allowing Denji to wrap them around a target and then pull his body closer to said target. Denji is able to heal completely from nearly any fatal injury, and in some instances recover from death, so long as he consumes a sufficient amount of blood. After losing his arm to Bat Devil, Denji's arm re-attached itself after he received a blood transfusion. Due to being a Hybrid, Denji is immortal and nearly unkillable. He can survive getting shot, being thrown from buildings and taking all kinds of injuries that would kill most Devils. Even if he dies, as long as someone pulls the cord on his chest, Denji can come back to life in perfect condition. Even after being decapitated, being cursed by the Curse Devil and having most of his body blown up, Denji still managed to come back to life with no lasting damage.

Aki Hayakawa: Aki generally appears to be a very stoic person. He acts mature and sometimes blunt to the point of rudeness when he is with his fellow Devil Hunters, but he is actually fairly softhearted. He has a tendency to get attached to others easily, and hates to see people get hurt, especially his close friends. Unlike many of his associates, he is described by Himeno as being a "normal person", in the sense that he grieves for those lost and has not become jaded enough to close his feelings off. Despite this, he is very determined and his primary motivation for killing the Gun Devil is revenge for his family. He is, however, entirely willing to put his own life on the line to save other people despite his own fear of death and even at risk to his ultimate goal. He doesn't like people who do not take their job as Devil Hunters seriously or fight for a superficial and material goal like money or, in Denji's case, to be able to touch some boobs, being this one the primary reasons he and Denji, initially, didn't get along. Aki is also ruthless, stating that he always makes sure the Devils he kills suffer in order to give them a slow and painful death. He could become intimidating with those he still didn't trust enough, like when he threatened Denji by telling him that if he either betrays them or sides with other Devils, he would kill him without any hesitation. Despite being merciless, Aki still has some kindness with his fellow devil hunters. His air of cold detachment was a façade as he had been seen to cry over the deaths of his comrades such as Himeno and he grew to care for Denji and Power. Aki is also capable of being afraid to lose those he deeply cared about. At first, Aki was seen to despise Devils equally, not caring if they are Hybrids, Fiends or if they are evil by nature, to him all Devils are the same. He saw them as nothing more than tools they can replace at any time. However, over the course of the story Aki slowly began to bond with some of his partners, best example, Denji and Power. He also plays baseball, and smokes alot.

Aki's Abilities:

Enhanced Reflexes: Aki has superhuman reflexes, being able to keep up with Katana Man and Devils. After making a contract with the Future Devil, Aki's reaction time was further improved.

Enhanced Durability: Aki is quite tough. He managed to survive getting stabbed by Kobeni Higashiyama, only needing Power's help to close the wound and not even having to go to the hospital afterwards. During his fight with Katana Man, Aki was kicked into a wall with enough force to crack it and was later cut in the chest.

Devil Contracts: Curse Devil Contract: Aki had a contract with the Curse Devil which granted him a nail-like sword. In order for the contract to work properly, Aki must point the nail anywhere on his target's body; then saying the word "fire", the hand of the Curse Devil will appear and flicks the back end of the nail to inflict damage. By stabbing his enemy three times with the nail, Aki could summon the Curse Devil to seize the enemy and inflict massive damage upon them, potentially killing them in the process. In order to use it, Aki's life would be significantly shortened. But he already used the ability so he can't use the contract or the nail anymore.

Fox Devil Contract: Aki has a contract with the Fox Devil. In exchange for feeding him part of his body, Aki could use his power in combat by raising a hand and saying the word "Kon", causing the Fox Devil's head to appear to instantly bite down on the target's body, swallowing him whole or tearing him apart. Aki lost the ability to summon him after he used the Fox Devil recklessly against the Katana Man.

Future Devil Contract: After losing the contract with the Fox Devil, Aki was taken to the Future Devil that is held prisoner by Public Safety and he managed to gain a contract to use its abilities in exchange for letting the Future Devil live inside his right eye, giving Aki the ability to see a few seconds into the future. He used this to predict his opponent's oncoming attacks and plan accordingly. Due to his contract, Aki could summon Future Devil by calling him. While the Devil says that Aki must say "The Future Rules" to make him come, this was not an actual requirement.

Skill sets: Swordsmanship: Aki was a proficient swordsman, wielding a sword as his primary weapon when fighting Devils. Hand-to-Hand Combat: As a Devil Hunter, Aki received training in unarmed combat. He displayed decent skills in boxing, being capable of easily defeating a boxer far more muscular than him. Cooking: Aki displays decent skills in cooking, usually being the one responsible for Denji's and Power's meals. Driving: Aki knows how to drive and has been seen driving vehicles, such as cars.

Other Abilities: Strong Willpower: Unlike most Devil Hunters, Aki, never gives up on his goals. This obsession made him willing to pay any price to achieve his goals, be it working with Devils or sacrificing most of his life span. He also has great control over his emotions, being able to suppress his fear to prevent detection by the Ghost Devil, who can only see by feeling people's fear.

Power: Power is childish, greedy, and almost entirely self-motivated. She tends to fight as if she has something to gain and is certain of her victory, and has no problems with running away from a fight where she is outmatched. She feels the need to boast her superiority over her fellow Devil Hunters due to her status as a Fiend. She has no loyalty to humans or Devils, openly admitting that she will join whichever is the winning side. Power also enjoys the thrill of a fight and enjoys showing off her strength and proving her own superiority. When she was in front of an army of zombies she got excited and told Denji to watch carefully how she single-handedly defeats all of them. She is highly egoistical and often claims she is capable of doing things she cannot actually do, only to abandon them halfway through when the situation turns sour for her. She frequently deflects the consequences of her actions to those around her. Power is a compulsive habitual liar; after getting in trouble with Makima for killing a Devil when she wasn't supposed to, Power immediately blamed Denji and claimed he told her to kill it. She also blamed Denji for eating all of the emergency food that the team collected even while she had crumbs on her face, and when accused of abandoning a fight because she was scared, Power falsely stated that she ran away merely because she was hungry. Power is also rude, unkempt, and feels as though those around her should clean up after her. She self-admittedly rarely bathes or flushes the toilet and sees humans as being overly sensitive for caring about their hygiene so much. Power has a tendency of imagining several ways of making humans kneel and suffer. When they were trapped in a hotel due to the ability of the Eternity Devil she spent most of the time there "planning" to win a Nobel Prize and become Japan's Prime Minister so she could raise up their taxes up to 100%. She has no problem gossiping and talking about her friends behind their backs. Power sees no difference between pork, beef and human meat; being willing to eat all of them, even if the meat is disgusting zombie flesh. She hates vegetables, throwing them away when she finds them in her meal. Power is an insatiable glutton, eating all of the stored food that the team needed in order to survive the Eternity Devil's trap and hoarding food for herself at the Division 4's newbie welcoming party. When asked by Aki about what reward she could want as part of their mission, Power stated that she desired to suck a human's blood until they die. When promised Denji's blood, Power became ecstatic at the prospect. Though she is extremely selfish, Power was able to experience compassion for the first time towards her pet, after only caring about the smell and taste of blood and the feeling of death when she was killing something. This compassion prompted her to act for the sake of another being when her pet Meowy was kidnapped. Power also begins to care for a select few close friends, such as Denji. She also hate's vegetables, and does not follow proper hygiene, she does not shower, she does not flush the toilet, ect. But she loves cat's.

Physical Abilities Enhanced Strength: Power is far stronger than the average human. She can wield a massive hammer made from her own blood, kill a bear with little effort and crush the Sea Cucumber Devil's body in one swing. Enhanced Speed: Power is a quick fighter, able to land an attack on Denji when she betrayed him while evading Denji's own swing. She was able to disappear from the Katana Man's sight as he gunned down the Devil Hunters before landing an uppercut that he couldn't block.

Devil Powers: Blood Manipulation: Power can freely manipulate the blood in her body to form weapons. She can also manipulate other people's blood through direct contact and is able to prevent them from bleeding out though she acknowledges that it is difficult. Power can also distort her target's regenerative abilities by mixing her own blood. Blood Hammer: Power can create an enormous hammer out of her own blood which she uses to crush her opponents. She can also make smaller handheld versions. Blood Spear: Power can create a spear out of her own blood and uses it to stab at her target. By placing her blood in bottles and hiding them in the area as traps she can make spears suddenly appear from the environment to take her opponent off-guard. Blood Transfer: Through a contract, Power can transfer her blood and life energy to someone, similar to Pochita's ability to assimilate Denji's body. Blood Empowerment: As a Fiend, Power is able to restore her health by consuming blood. Also as the Blood Devil, her regenerative powers are at a higher level than other Devils. When Power drinks too much blood or drinks blood from a stronger Devil then her power drastically increases. It is shown that she sprouts additional horns from her head after drinking too much blood. In this state, a single punch from Power has enough force to launch Denji into the ceiling. She can regenerate herself from small amounts of blood.

Extras: Denji is Madly in love with Makima, and is willing to do anything for her, he woofs for her, and let's her treat him like her dog. Aki is also in love with her, but not at the level of Denji. Power is scared of Makima, as whenever Power drinks too much blood, there is a system where she has to get some of her blood drained, and Makima is the one that does it.

Power has a cat called Meowie that lives with her and the others.

This story takes place when Denji just met Reze.
