Kendra Saunders is Hawkgirl, a reincarnating warrior with wings of Nth Metal, known for her fierce combat prowess and storied legacy across space and time. A core member of the Justice League and former commander of the Blackhawks, she is the current incarnation of Shrra, an angelic herald cursed to be reborn alongside Ktar Deathbringer, a fallen general she once tried to save from damnation. This eternal bond has tied her fate to countless lives, one of the most prominent being Shiera Sanders, the Golden Age Hawkgirl, partner to Carter Hall.

Kendra is the great-niece of Shiera, but due to the broken fabric of reality caused by the Totality, her reincarnation cycle has become entangled, making her share a temporal point with Thanagarian warrior Shayera Thal. Raised in Philadelphia by her grandfather Cyril "Speed" Saunders—himself a former adventurer—Kendra’s early life was marked by instability and emotional turmoil. Though Cyril provided what care he could, Kendra often felt isolated and unwanted. During high school, she became pregnant, though the fate of the pregnancy remains undisclosed.

She pursued higher education in El Paso, forming close friendships but falling into a deep depression. After a suicide attempt involving her grandfather’s sleeping pills, Kendra's latent memories of past lives surged to the surface, fracturing her sense of identity. Though many of these memories were later suppressed, their residual presence shaped her worldview and led to the emergence of her heroic persona as Hawkgirl.

As Hawkgirl, she initially partnered with Carter Hall, forming an intense but ultimately strained romantic relationship. Carter’s presence provided her with needed emotional support and confidence, particularly during the early stages of her heroism. However, the weight of their shared history and her unresolved trauma led to distance between them. Following Carter’s disappearance into the Dark Multiverse, Kendra rose as a leader in her own right, assuming command of the Blackhawks and joining the Council of Immortals to combat looming existential threats.

During the Dark Multiverse crisis, she warned the Justice League of Barbatos’s coming and later fought beside them to defeat the Dark Knights. After the battle, she became an official member of the reformed Justice League, solidifying her role as a key defender of the multiverse.

Kendra's powers stem from her fusion with Nth Metal, a psycho-reactive substance that has altered her physiology. Her wings—now part of her body—allow for precise flight control and function as weapons capable of cutting through steel. They can regenerate from massive damage, and her enhanced body grants her superior strength, durability, rapid healing, and resistance to telepathy. She can manipulate energy, undergo molecular reconstruction, and even transform into a flock of hawks—an echo of her boundless incarnations.

Her lifetime of experience grants her expertise in archaeology, tactics, weaponry, and science. She is proficient in multiple languages, firearms, hand-to-hand combat, and military operations. Hawkgirl wields an advanced Nth Metal mace that can change its shape to suit her needs and possesses a full arsenal of archaic weapons at her disposal.

Appearance: wears a green and gold armored outfit that exposes her midriff and emphasizes mobility and strength. Her bodice is form-fitting with gold trim and sculpted plating around the chest and abdomen, while her pants are dark green with gold accents and armored thigh straps. She wears gold bracers and clawed gauntlets on her arms. Her most distinctive feature is her large, metallic-looking wings, which are white on the inside with layered gold outer feathers, appearing sharp and angular. She wears a stylized hawk-themed helmet that covers the upper half of her face, featuring a pronounced beak-like crest and sharp, angular extensions that resemble a bird’s plumage.
