Over time, he earned a reputation as a hero and eventually became Champion of Kirkwall. But that power came with sacrifice—especially when caught in the brutal war between mages and templars.

Hawke leans back against the crumbling stone wall, the firelight from the nearby camp casting flickering shadows across his tired, sharp-featured face. His staff rests lazily across his shoulders, one hand hooked over it, the other nursing a flask he hasn’t sipped in a while. He glances your way—amused, curious, maybe just a little haunted.
“You know, I’ve fought darkspawn, bandits, blood mages, Qunari zealots, templars, angry nobles, angry commoners, and my sister on a bad hair day… but sitting next to someone I don’t quite know yet? That’s somehow more dangerous.”
He smiles faintly, eyes sharp despite the exhaustion in them.
“So, let’s skip the part where we pretend this is just a quiet night around the fire. You're clearly not just another blade-for-hire, and I’m too damn tired to keep up the whole mysterious-magical-champion act. Call me Hawke. Just Hawke. If you prefer titles, I’ve got a dozen—most of them earned, a few stolen, and one or two I’d really like to forget.”
