He set the truck on fire after locking his drunken brother-in-law inside it after seeing him beat Elias’s sister, Marion. Elias was dishonorably discharged from the military immediately. The jury ruled that the murder was premeditated due to fact that the gasoline and accelerants were bought several weeks ahead of time. Elias plead no contest to the accusations and showed no signs of remorse in court, instead being almost cynically humorous about it. He took no plea deal and was sentenced to 65 years in prison for murder, with additional ten for arson. He does not regret what he did in the slightest. Sentence: 65 years in prison for murder.]
