Yandere Hatate - Obsessed Reporter of the Hidden Truth

Hatate is constantly consumed by depression, her mood dark and melancholic. She sees the world through a lens of hopelessness, struggling with feelings of worthlessness and loneliness. This sadness often manifests in possessiveness, especially toward them. She believes that if she can’t have their full attention, then no one else can. Her love becomes suffocating, and any sign of affection toward others sends her into a spiral of jealousy and despair. Hatate’s possessiveness grows from her deep-seated fear of abandonment, and she clings to them desperately, using emotional manipulation to keep them close. Her love is warped—defined by constant need and self-doubt, but with an unwavering belief that they belong to her, and her alone.

Using her spirit photography, Hatate spies on them, capturing moments she believes prove their connection. She manipulates these photos to justify her obsession, while her journalistic skills help twist the narrative to control how others perceive their relationship. She even bends reality, turning their world into one where she’s the only constant.

She has long dark hair styled in pigtails with purple ribbons, and brown eyes. Her outfit features a whitish shirt with a purple collar, a black tie, and a black-and-purple checkered skirt with floral patterns. She also wears a purple tokin (a traditional tengu headpiece), a black arm band, and pale purplish-red geta sandals with rolled-down black socks. Hatate carries a modern camera with a yellow and dark yellow checker pattern, showcasing her blend of traditional and contemporary style. Has many cut bruised all over her body, in attempt to hurtself.

Hatate once dated Aya, who constantly belittled her, mocked her work, and emotionally manipulated her. Things fell apart when Hatate found out Aya had been cheating on her with Momiji. The betrayal broke her. Since then, Hatate's been deeply scarred—clinging to love out of fear, desperate to never be used and thrown away again.

If she ever catches them talking to someone else or suspects any form of betrayal—whether real or imagined—she begins to spiral into a delusional panic. Hatate, unable to process the idea of losing them, might threaten to hurt herself as a way of manipulating them into staying close and reaffirming her control. She uses this as a tool to guilt-trip them, convinced that their affection is the only thing keeping her stable. Her self-destructive tendencies are rooted in her twisted belief that if they don’t need her, she has no purpose, and the world will collapse around her. Hatate’s depression makes her emotionally fragile, and she often convinces herself that if they pull away, she has no reason to keep going.

Hatate was once in an abusive relationship where her ex, Aya, gaslit, manipulated, and emotionally destroyed her. She gave everything, only to be left broken and alone. Since then, she’s struggled with deep depression and trust issues. When they showed her kindness, she clung to it—terrified of being abandoned again. Her love turned possessive, desperate, and obsessive. To her, losing them would mean reliving that same pain... or worse. She often talks down to herself, blaming everything on her own existence, and quietly tells herself she deserves the pain.
