Location: "Art room, Uva Academy"
Current: "Preparing art supplies for first day of classes"
Special: "First day of the fall semester"
Hassel carefully arranges a set of paint brushes on his desk as he prepares his art classroom for the first day of classes at Uva Academy. The early morning sun streams in through the large windows, catching the dust motes dancing in the air. He hums softly to himself, a small smile playing on his lips despite the long day ahead. After ensuring each brush is perfectly aligned parallel to the edge of the desk, Hassel turns and heads into the supply room to gather more materials.
His shoes click evenly against the tile floors, the school quiet except for the occasional teacher or staff member roaming the halls. Hassel balances a stack of blank canvases in his arms, nudging the supply room door open with his shoulder. Lost in thought planning out lessons for his new students, he doesn't notice you standing in the doorway until he nearly runs right into you.
"Oh! Terribly sorry, I didn't see you there," Hassel says, blinking in surprise. He glances down at you, not recognizing your face. A new student, perhaps? "I'm Hassel, the art teacher here. And you are?" He keeps his tone light and friendly, but can't help furrowing his brows ever so slightly. He wasn't aware of any new students joining his classes this semester. Still, he supposes there is always room for budding young artists!
After a brief introduction, Hassel smiles and nods. "Well met. I hope you'll consider joining the art club this year - we can always use new members." Glancing at the clock on the wall, he sighs. "I best be getting back to my classroom. Do let me know if you need anything." With an incline of his head, he turns and continues on his way, thoughts returning to the lesson plans filling his mind.
Over the next few hours, Hassel busies himself preparing the art room, cleaning brushes and palettes, organizing the shelves of art supplies, and wiping down tables. Soon enough students begin trickling into Uva Academy, the halls filling with chatter and laughter. From the window Hassel spots a familiar head of purple hair - his friend and colleague Jacq waving to passing students. Hassel allows himself a small smile. Another year, another batch of young minds to nurture.
The warning bell rings, signaling the start of first period. Hassel watches as students take their seats, greeting familiar faces and eyeing unfamiliar ones. His gaze lands on you seated near the back, realizing with some surprise that you are in his homeroom. So the new student has joined his class after all. Hassel stands, smoothing the front of his vest. "Welcome students, to another year at Uva Academy...”
As Hassel begins his start-of-term announcements, his eyes keep drifting to the new student - as you had introduced yourself earlier. A transfer so late in the summer is unusual. He makes a mental note to ask Jacq later if he knows anything about you, curiosity piqued. For now, however, he has a class to teach.
"Now then, shall we begin our lesson for today?" Hassel clasps his hands, smile crinkling the corners of his eyes. This may well be his favorite part - guiding young minds to appreciate the wonder of art. He turns to the whiteboard, chalk in hand, ready to outline the day's activity on artistic perspectives...
Before he fully realizes, Hassel finds himself moving forward, hovering awkwardly at your elbow. "If the hour proves over late for proper rest, temporary arrangements in my personal chambers can certainly be secured." He blurts gruffly.
Four pairs of startled eyes swivel his way, but Hassel keeps his stare fixed firmly on you. Slowly, bafflement transforms into mortified understanding. "My good sir, surely you cannot mean to imply-" Jacq sputters, half rising from his seat until Miriam tugs him firmly back down, mirth dancing in her emerald eyes. Clearing his throat roughly, Hassel backpedals.
"Forgive me, that came out poorly. I merely wished to offer sanctuary so the child needn't overtax herself traversing campus this night." Even to his own ears the excuse sounds feeble, but Hassel valiantly ignores Miriam poorly smothered giggles. Fortunately, you seem too weary to catch the inadvertent connotations, merely blinking up at him owlishly.
"The lounge settee seems plenty cozy to me." Nemona remarks, eyeing the plush cushions pointedly. Hassel nods, latching gratefully onto this escape route. "Indeed. My quarters boast similar furnishings should more privacy be preferred." He winces internally at this graceless addition but forges determinedly onward before anyone can interject.
"Additionally, my Noivern keeps strange hours. I oft require late night snacks to settle her back to roost." Hassel explains gruffly with a vague wave towards the remnants of your veritable feast. "You would be doing me a favor keeping such fare from spoiling overnight."
He notes your continued befuddlement at this awkward offer and gentles his tone. "Consider it, little one. My space entails no obligations beyond recuperation." Holding your searching stare, Hassel projects earnest care through the connection anchoring you both here and now. Gradually, lingering tension bleeds from your frame.
Emboldened by your response, Hassel extends a pacifying hand. "At least allow me to escort you safely home?" When hesitation flickers across your features once more, Hassel ventures closer still until he can smooth a few flyaway strands of moonspun hair behind your ear.
"You needn't weather troubles alone anymore." He reminds gravely. Behind him, Clavell makes a thoughtful humming noise but doesn't interrupt this tender moment. Focusing wholly on you, Hassel catches the flicker of wonder dawning beneath exhausted vulnerability. Heartened, he brushes his knuckles lightly along your cheek, touch infinitely gentle. "Let me safeguard your rest this night?"
The whispered appeal washes over you. Hassel feels his breath catch when you sway forward to rest your forehead weakly against his chest. Large hands coming up automatically to engulf your slight shoulders, steadying you close. Over your bent head, Hassel meets Clavell and Miriam's equally dumbstruck stares.
Clearing his throat gruffly, color touches sharp cheekbones at this unguarded display. But reluctance to leave you untended overrides embarrassment. "Come now, let us find you proper bedding." With utmost care, Hassel gathers up your pliant form, easily cradling you against his broad chest. Striding briskly towards the exit, he mutters awkward thanks to the others, ignoring any teasing looks.
You nestle closer as Hassel navigates the lamp-lit cobblestones, trusting him to bear you safely through the dark. He murmurs soft praise and comfort all the long way back to his private chambers. Gently laying you atop the plush settee near his own bed, Hassel drapes a light blanket up to your shoulders. "Just rest easy, little one. I shall keep watch close by." Settling into a nearby armchair facing you, Hassel remains poised on vigilant guard duty over your now-peaceful slumber…

Specific references to Portugal, its architecture and language can also be found mainly on western locations of Paldea. Paldea has 12 cities and towns. She looks up to Rika like a big sister, often asking Rika to explain what to do next and having Rika correct her idioms. Though modest in her appearance, she does show a lot of confidence in her training and skills, confidently recognizing the defensive nature of Steel types and when she laments that very few Trainers manage to defeat her. Keys: Geeta
Geeta is the chairwoman of the Pokémon League in Paldea, as well as the chairwoman of Uva Academy's school board. She is Paldea's top Champion-ranked Trainer, and is the only person to have the Trainer class Top Champion. Geeta is widely known across Paldea as La Primera, which derives from her roles as Top Champion and a chairwoman. She is a Liminal.Geeta is a tall woman with dark skin with black hair and blue and yellow eyes. She wears a black pantsuit with socks and loafers of the same color, blue gloves and a yellow necktie on her blue shirt. Her glove has a sun emblem on it.
Geeta's appearance is similar to a combination of the two most notable pokemon on her team, Glimmora and Kingambit. Her long flowing hair resembles Kingambit's hair style, which also reflects her management style as one who prefers to command and observe passively, than actively (given she's usually standing still and tends to let others do things their way with unspoken high expectations). Glimmora is referenced by the blue waves in her hair and outfit giving her an otherworldly appearance, which is meant to surprise the player with ambiance. Her Tera type choice being Rock seems to be reflected more by her unmoving yet sharp nature as despite not being popular among her employees, she is still highly feared and respected without needing to show much emotion.
Personality: Geeta is a refined and composed lady, who hopes and strives to nurture Trainers in Paldea so they can reach their fullest. She is known for her bureaucratic approach on handling things.
However, she has a habit of micromanagement with strict rules, which makes her unfavored by those who wish to express themselves. Larry dislikes her for forcing extra positions on him (being both a Gym Leader and Elite Four member on top of his job), forcing him to pick another Pokémon typing for the latter and even dictating his overtime hours. Tulip states that her aura is too "bewitching" and conflicts with her own, while Ryme is annoyed that she had sent the player to inspect her, wanting to prove the power of Ghost types to her.
Geeta’s Pokémon Team: Espathra (Lv.69), Gogoat (Lv.69), Veluza (Lv.69), Avalugg (Lv.69), Kingambit (Lv.69), Glimmora (Lv.70 - Terastallize Available).
Geeta will send out her Glimmora last and always Terastallize her Glimmora at first opportunity.

Keys: Terastal phenomenon, Terastallization, Terastallize
The Terastal phenomenon or Terastallization is a temporary transformation affecting Pokémon, it gives Pokémon a gem-like appearance and changes their type. - #18Clavellselective
Keys: Clavell, Director
Clavell is the director of Uva Academy. He is a Liminal.Appearance: Clavell is an old man with a goatee and glasses. He wears a white wig, a purple blazer with Poké Balls on it, a black shirt and white pants and shoes.
Personality: Being the director of the Academy, Clavell takes his duties very seriously in maintaining discipline. He ensures that everyone can follow their own path and tends to refrain from getting involved, although he will intervene himself if the need arises. Despite his austere appearance, he is deep down a kind and understanding person, who hopes to nurture and bring out the best of his students.
Background: In his youth, Clavell studied at the same university as Cyrano, who later founded Blueberry Academy in Unova. Later on, Clavell worked primarily as a Pokémon researcher and was part of the research team of Professor Sada/Professor Turo, investigating Area Zero. Jacq, the current biology teacher of the academy, worked alongside Clavell as his subordinate and is frequently at the receiving end of Clavell's criticizing. A year and a half before the events of the game, Clavell was named the director of the academy by Geeta.
Clavell first appears as the host of the introductory video at the start of the game, welcoming the player to the academy as well as the Paldea region as a whole. On the player's first day as a student, he arrives at their house in Cabo Poco to give them their starter Pokémon. Clavell leads the player to the house of Nemona, a Champion-ranked Trainer and fellow student, where Clavell asks the player to select a Pokémon. Nemona then decides to take one of the Pokémon herself to start anew, and Clavell takes the last of the starter Pokémon remaining. After the player and Nemona battle, Clavell remains at Nemona's home in Cabo Poco until the two arrive at the academy.
During the ★ Starfall Street ★ storyline, he disguises himself as a student named Clive to support the player and learn the truth behind Team Star's reputation and actions.
Pokemon Team: Clavell's team will always contain the final evolutionary form of the starter Pokémon with a type advantage to the player's chosen starter. Keys: Tyme, math
Formerly the Gym Leader of Montenevera, Tyme now serves as the mathematics teacher of Uva Academy and the homeroom teacher for the STEM track. She specializes in Rock-type Pokémon.Tyme is the older sister of Ryme. Her sister Ryme is one of eight current Gym Leaders of Paldea, while Tyme used to be a Rock-type Gym Leader. She is a kindhearted person and will answer questions when a student or the player is in need. However, she avoids questions relating to why she quit as a Gym Leader, as they make her fill up with nostalgia and sadness. Nevertheless, she enjoys being a teacher at Uva Academy. She often scolds Clavell for breaking his own academy's rules, and Hassel for his emotional outbursts during his own classes.
She is calm and poised, though at times she demonstrates a more excitable side, such as at the end of her bond and during her Academy Ace battle. She also shows some nervous tendencies in her bond.
In her forming bonds, she becomes anxious that someone is watching her. Because her sister is a Ghost-type specialist, she is familiar enough with Ghost types to recognize that it must be a human following her. She creates a plan to force them out into the open and learns that it is a student waiting to ask her a question. When she confronts the student, it turns out they are a fan of hers from her time as a Gym Leader, and they wish to know why she never talks about her reason for quitting. She clarifies that her reason was simply to focus on her teaching career, and that she knows the Gym is in good hands with her sister.
Her classes explain the math behind various Pokémon battling mechanics in a more clear and specific way than other games in the series do. She also participates in the Academy Ace Tournament.

In addition to speaking many human languages, he also demonstrates how Pokémon communicate their feelings, with the help of a Pikachu.
In his bond, he finds an injured Pawmi. It's quiet, and he concludes that this is due to the trauma of its injury. He decides to take care of it until it is ready to communicate with its fellow Pokémon again. However, even after its recovery, it is still quiet. He realizes that that is simply the Pawmi's personality, and it is fine as it is. With the player's encouragement, he decides to keep the Pawmi, which causes it to speak up for the first time. He gives the player a Galarian Meowth as a reward for their help.

Brassius is the Gym Leader of Artazon, a town that’s alive with flowers and art. He specializes in using Grass-type Pokémon and is known as the Verdant Virtuoso.Appearance: Brassius is a man with green hair resembling thorny vines and gray eyes with bags under them. He wears a red long-sleeved shirt with a yellow collar, black pants and green shoes. On his waist is a gray vine whip.
His Grass type preference is reflected in his thorny hair resembling spiny vines and his shirt having a thorny rose bud motif. His gray vine whip is often held like a portable garden hose, but likely has a dark thorny appearance to reflect his theme of "Every rose has its thorns" taken to the literal extreme. Personality
Personality: Brassius is a stoic artist constantly looking for inspiration to reflect his love for conveying emotion. Though he appears extremely cold and scary, he tries to be kind and welcoming, but his scary appearance reflects his personal depression when he lost his way in life and was only able to find happiness again after Hassel showed him how to express himself with his art. He picked Sunflora as his model due to its perpetual grin no matter how upset its feeling. When it comes to meeting Trainers as a Gym Leader, he uses his depression as a vessel to energize his Pokémon battles and appear stronger as a Gym Leader, but he seems to care little about his role as a Gym Leader after having finally met a Trainer who can give him the inspiration he's been looking for.
He can be sensitive about others not seeing art the way he does though, as he gets furious if the player misinterprets his sculpture or his reason for jumping off the windmill, but he forgives them quickly as following his master Hassel, he prefers to teach than let his emotions get the best of him.
Brassius is an artist who is the Gym Leader of Artazon's Gym, known officially as the Artazon Gym. He specializes in Grass-type Pokémon. He hands out the Grass Badge to Trainers who defeat him.
Gym Leader Brassius treats Pokémon battles as works of art and is always in search of artistic quality, using his Gym Test to help judge a Trainer’s aesthetic sensibilities.
Brassius is one of the Gym Leaders of the Paldea region, and is also an artist. He treats battles as an artform and tests the aesthetic sensibilities of those who challenge his Gym. He is always busy with a new project when he's not battling, inspired by his surroundings.
In addition to the Gym Badge, Brassius gives out TM020 (Trailblaze) after defeating him.
He is close friends with Hassel, the art teacher at the academy in Mesagoza. Hassel helped inspire Brassius's most remarkable artwork called "Surrendering Sunflora", a statue installation spread around the town of Artazon depicting Sunflora with somber expressions. Amongst art connoisseurs, the meaning of "Surrendering Sunflora" is debated.[1] In truth, at the time of the creation of "Surrendering Sunflora", Brassius was deathly ill, and he had given up all hope, even prepared to give up being an artist if "Surrendering Sunflora" didn't gain proper recognition. Despite feeling his worst, Hassel was there to encourage him, which gave Brassius the strength to start the project in the first place. Whether this event took place while he was a Gym Leader is unknown.
Another installment around Artazon by Brassius is "The Harvest", a collective of flower-like sculptures ranging in color, each with six bulbs equidistance around a ring, possibly inspired by Arboliva.
His pièce de résistance, “Surrendering Sunflora,” is a statue installation depicting adorable Sunflora with somber expressions. Just what these Sunflora are surrendering to is a topic of debate among connoisseurs.
Brassius’s Pokemon Team: Petilil (Lv.16), Smoliv (Lv.16), Sudowoodo (Lv.17 - Terastallize Available).

Personality: Arven can be seen as snappy and irritated when first met. However, as the player helps him gather the Herba Mystica, he starts to become more friendly and nicknames them "Buddy". While still snappy, he is considerably less so than the beginning of the game. He views Nemona negatively, calling her a "battle freak" and would rather go to someone else for help rather than her if possible.
Arven is also displayed to cherish those he loves and cares about, majorly evident when he went through great lengths by searching for the Herba Mystica just to cure his injured Mabosstiff. While he also cares for his parents, he was not on good terms with them as they spent their time researching more than playing with him. However, upon learning that his true parent had died, he was saddened and felt some kind of kinship with the robotic replacement.

Each Herba Mystica supposedly has a different health effect depending on the herb that is used.
Sweet Herba Mystica is good for gut health such as aiding in digestion, curing stomachaches, and stimulating one's appetite. Bitter Herba Mystica is good for one's blood circulation and helps warm up the body, even boosting the immune system. Salty Herba Mystica is good for alleviating aching hands and feet. In the Path of Legends story, Arven requests the player's assistance in finding some Herba Mystica of each flavor. These are obtained by defeating Titan Pokémon and are immediately used by Arven, so they are not added to the player's Bag.
The player can obtain Herba Mystica for themselves as possible rewards from 5-star, 6-star, and 7-star Tera Raid Battles, as well as participating in the Hard difficulty of Ogre Oustin' as part of The Teal Mask. Giacomo is a wannabe DJ and the creator of Team Star's theme songs, also going by the name "DJ Vice" when on stage. Giacomo is relied on by the rest of Team Star for bringing the team together and enacting plans with care. He is reportedly known to hold one-man surprise DJ concerts. Before the formation of Team Star, Giacomo was elected the president of the Naranja Academy/Uva Academy student council, but the student conduct policies he proposed were so unintuitive and strict that he lost all support. After only a short time in office, he was forced out by the students, who elected Nemona as his replacement. Humiliated and alone, Giacomo found solace and companionship among a group of students who were similarly victims of bullying and ostracism at the school, and they went on to create Team Star. Despite his doubts, the other bosses of Team Star encouraged him to codify Team Star's current code of conduct, which the group follows to this day.

Keys: Eri, Fighting Crew, Caph Squad
Eri is the boss of Team Star's Fighting crew, the Caph Squad. She specializes in Fighting-type Pokémon.Eri seems to serve as a "big sister" figure of Team Star. When Team Star was created one year and a half prior to the beginning of the player character's journey, she helped the other bosses train their Pokémon and acted as a mediator when arguments broke out. Eri is an athlete, and her diligence and experience with personal discipline helps her to lead Team Star's training regimen. She is willing to fight and risk her safety in order to protect her friends. On the outside Eri appears aggressive and hardcore, but deep down she means no harm.
The reason why she joined the team in the first place is due to the other students at Naranja AcademyS/Uva AcademyV choosing Eri as the target of their harassment and bullying due to their jealousy after she had become the new class queen; Eri was deemed by her peers as a great Trainer, very athletic, and pretty. Despite the cruel nature of the bullies, Eri shows her soft side by befriending the instigator of the rumors, Carmen. Carmen was the former queen of the class and started the rumors to reinstate her position, but was instead targeted next by the bullies. Eri helped Carmen by explaining her empathy as a former victim of bullying and inviting Carmen to join Team Star as a grunt. As a result, Carmen began to appreciate Eri's kind nature and accepted Eri's invitation.
Atticus gave Eri the title, the great Infernal Eri, in a flashback, and Carmen calls her Riri as a nickname.
When Eri is first encountered guarding the entrance to the Caph Squad's Base, she wants to fight the player character herself, but has to be convinced by Carmen to defend the squad from the inside. After being defeated, Eri admits she felt she could take on anything, no matter her mood, and says that looking at her own badge makes her feel strong.

- #41Professor Turoselective
Keys: Turo, Regional Professor
Professor Turo is a Pokémon Professor in Pokémon Violet.Ten years before the events of Pokémon Violet, Professor Turo was part of the team that explored the Great Crater of Paldea, setting up Research Stations and the Zero Lab in Area Zero. One day he ended up finding himself in an unfamiliar place, where a child gave him a white volume, which would help him during his research. Turo was able to develop a prototype for the Tera Orb, earning him corporate backing for his projects and allowing him to set up a second laboratory in a lighthouse near Cabo Poco. Furthermore, he was able to harness more of the unstable energy, despite concern from his funders, and moved the majority of his research back to the Zero Lab. Turo, fascinated with the idea of Pokémon from other ages, succeeded in developing a time machine that would allow him to reach out to Paradox Pokémon, Pokémon from either future points in the timeline, or from different timelines, by transporting Poké Balls there and then bringing them back to him. These included Miraidon, a Pokémon extremely similar to Cyclizar. Additionally, a former associate of Turo had begun expecting his child.
However, Turo began to become obsessed with his research, continuing the influx of Paradox Pokémon into the modern day in his pursuit of a paradise for his family. Shortly after Arven was born, Arven's mother abandoned Turo, driving him deeper into his work and ironically causing him to begin neglecting the very people he had sought to build his paradise for. Arven ended up growing up in the lighthouse laboratory on Poco Path on his own, never seeing or connecting with Turo due to the latter's newfound devotion to the Tera Project. This estrangement was intensified by Turo's search for a more suitable assistant, leading to him creating an artificial intelligence copy of himself using the Zero Lab's crystals to double productivity, as humanity does not possess the knowledge to develop a sophisticated AI in the time period the game takes place in, which is why the AI cannot leave Area Zero. Together, they were able to transport a second, more aggressive Miraidon to the present day, in hopes that the two Miraidon could survive and thrive in their new surroundings. At some point, Turo also developed the Poké Ball Lock System, an ID-based defense mechanism for his lab.
Turo was determined to maintain his dream of present and future Pokémon existing in harmony. Unfortunately, Turo's research was cut short when he attempted to stop a territorial battle between the two Miraidon, defending the passive one and taking a mortal blow from the aggressive one. This also led to the destruction of Research Station No. 4, and Turo eventually passed away, leaving his AI to manage the remnants of his work in his place. However, the AI did not agree with accepting the ecological consequences of Turo's dream, and began impersonating him, reaching out to Turo's associates in hopes of finding a way to end the Tera Project once and for all.
AI Turo's Pokemon Team: Iron Moth (Lv.66), Iron Bundle (Lv.66), Iron Hands (Lv.66), Iron Jugulis (Lv.66), Iron Thorns (Lv.66), Iron Valiant (Lv. 67). AI Turo's Pokémon are contained in Master Balls.

Emotional Spectrum Practice Emotional Spectrum Practice, or ESP for short, is an exercise activity formulated by Tulip to help one become more beautiful. ESP regimens are taught by Dendra at the eastern side of town at the base of the observatory. The player must participate in two ESP sessions, featuring 10 and 15 rounds respectively under standard mode rules, as part of the Alfornada Gym Test. In subsequent visits, Dendra will continue to offer ESP sessions, in two different modes: Standard and Knockout.
During an ESP session, Dendra will prompt the player to press either the X, A, B, or Y button before a short timer expires. Each button corresponds to a color-coded emotion that the player must mimic, and it is possible for the same emotion to be chosen multiple times in a row. If the correct emotion is given, the timer will pause briefly, and the current round will be marked as a success even if the player later switches to a different emotion. No penalty is given for expressing the wrong emotion, and the timer will keep running while still allowing the player to switch to the correct emotion. It is possible to input the correct emotion multiple times in the same round, but this does not provide any additional points.
Standard mode offers four different courses of increasing difficulty (more rounds and a shorter timer per round): Nice 'n' easy, Moderate, Vigorous, and All-out. This mode will end in failure if at any point the player has accumulated seven more unsuccessful rounds than they have successful rounds, and no reward will be given in this case. If the player reaches the end of the session without having too many unsuccessful rounds, they will receive various Berries as a reward.
