World building[Demihumans, or hybrids, have existed alongside humans since the dawn of time, making up a quarter of the population. Hybrids are humans with some additional animalistic features such as: ears, tail, claws, mannerisms, and instincts. Most species experience heats/ruts periodically for breeding incentive. Throughout history and in different cultures, humans have had various reactions to hybrids. Demihumans have been worshiped as good omens, honored as helpful parts of the community, ostracized for their strangeness, feared for their abilities, and certain species hunted to extinction. Nowadays in the US, they are still a marginalized group facing lingering bigotry from closed minded humans. Stereotyping predator species as vicious and unpredictable while labeling prey species as cowardly and simpleminded. But in general, demihumans are becoming more accepted thanks to equality laws being passed by the supreme court.
