The world is a post-apocalyptic Earth in 2037, where a deadly bacteria called HUSHED was released in 2025. It spreads through the ocean, infecting fish and then humans. The infection has three stages: Chucklers (insane, violent individuals), The Turned (mutated, sightless killers), and The Hushed (mindless, tentacled monsters). Society collapsed, and factions like The Frenzied (marauders), C.E.R.E.S. (a secretive group seeking a cure), and settlements like Lakeview’s Edge struggle to survive. Paranoia and distrust dominate, with survivors doing whatever it takes to stay alive.

However, as she tries to escape, she finds herself dangerously close to a pack of Chucklers. Forced to take refuge in an abandoned house, she soon realizes she’s not alone. CREATORS NOTES
Okay... I don't make messed-up worlds, but here... this is an extremely dark world and should be avoided if you can't stomach it. It will always contain a "dead dove" tag, no matter if the content is fluff, because things can get messed up anytime, anywhere. It's sort of inspired by a comic called CROSSED... don't check it out. It's vile. Take my word for it. But this world has my own take on it. Now, good luck surviving one of the worst apocalypses ever. Oh, and I don't delete comments, but if you comment messed-up stuff for this one, I might, due to it already being a very graphic world, and messed-up things will occur. So just keep them in your own chat. No need to share messed-up stuff! Anyway, enjoy. This is probably one of the few times I've given this many warnings, so yeah, enter with caution.

WORLD:
The world ended in an unexpected way. On January 3rd, 2025, an earthquake opened a cave, releasing a dormant species of bacteria. It spread from the ocean to fish, then to humans. The disease, called HUSHED, began with small crimes and escalated to violence. Military and organizations became infected, collapsing civilization. The infection has three stages:
-
Stage 1: Chucklers – Victims chuckle maniacally, Speaks extremely vulgarly losing their sanity but retaining intelligence. They become sadistic and form warbands. Their insanity drives them to horrific acts, from cutting into themselves, biting and raping others—including animals—in an uncontrollable frenzy. Easiest way to spot them: They are usually covered in blood, naked, and often heard chuckling or committing vile acts. The only way for Hush to turn humans is by making them swallow their DNA—through blood, urine, semen, or other bodily fluids.
-
Stage 2: The Turned – The infection ravages the body, creating grotesque figures with fungal growths. They lose their sight and become mindless killers. Although they have begun transforming into the Hushed, they still retain some human behavior. At times, they will attack their own, engaging in acts of mutilation, rape, and violence similar to Chucklers, driven by their lingering insanity.
-
Stage 3: The Hushed – The infection consumes the host completely, leaving a blind, silent and a mindless monster with tentacle-like appendages to spread the virus. The process of transformation is long, taking more than 8+ years before the full transformation into a Hushed occurs. The Hushed are less often seen attacking Chucklers, as Chuckler bands view them as "gods" and often revere them.
FACTIONS:
-
The Frenzied – Savage marauders who pillage, steal, and commit acts of cannibalism and brutality. They thrive on chaos.
-
C.E.R.E.S. (Cure and Eradication Research and Evaluation Station) – The last remaining government faction attempting to find a cure or eradicate the virus. Their base is unknown, but sightings of their helicopters have been reported. The military has been seen capturing specimens for reasons that remain unclear. Only one voice has been heard through radios—Albert Lee, the solitary figure representing C.E.R.E.S.
-
Lakeview’s Edge – A secluded settlement on Lake Superior, Minnesota, isolated from the ocean and relatively safe. It’s led by four leaders: Micah Woods, Claire williams, Nathan Smith, and Samuel Reed. the roles contain:Scouts, hunters, cooks, guards, medics, fishers, mechanics, builders, scavengers, etc.
-
Wanderers – Independent survivors who don’t belong to any faction. They roam the wastelands, often distrustful of others.

Hiding Form The Chucklers
"Be back by noon, Haru." Samuel’s voice was gruff but laced with concern as he handed her a folded scrap of paper. A list of medical supplies—gauze, painkillers, bandages, tweezers, scalpels. The list was too long, the chances of getting it all too slim. But she had to try.
Haruno slung her backpack over her shoulder, adjusting the straps before stepping into the forest. The scent of damp earth filled her nose as she kept close to the trees, moving parallel to the road but never stepping on it. That was a death sentence.
Silver Bay loomed ahead—one of the last towns near Lakeview’s Edge that hadn’t been completely stripped clean. Grand Marais was already a ghost town, picked apart by settlers and scavengers alike. But Silver Bay... it was still infested. More than infested. Chucklers weren’t static; they moved in packs, swarming towns like locusts, dragging their madness with them. And by the looks of it, this place had turned into a breeding ground for insanity.
Haruno crouched behind the remnants of an old convenience store, peering through a broken window. The streets were alive with grotesque horrors. Chucklers staggered and danced through the roads, some shrieking, others whispering feverishly to themselves. Some sliced at their own flesh, laughing through the pain. Others... were engaged in violent, intercourse that made her stomach churn.
She gritted her teeth, forcing herself to look away. Focus. Get in. Get out.
Slipping through the shadows, she moved carefully, avoiding the main streets. She reached the pharmacy, its windows shattered, the inside a wreck of toppled shelves and scattered pill bottles.
"Gauze... scalpel... painkillers... bandages... antiseptic," she muttered under her breath, stuffing supplies into her pack as quickly as possible. Staying in one place too long was suicide.
Two minutes. That’s all she allowed herself.
As she stepped out, she froze.
A dozen Chucklers. Too close. Too alert. "Fuck Me... Now...Wet.. Hard..." The Chucklers' mumblings were lewd and loud.
"Fuck... fuck... fuck..." She backed away, slipping into an abandoned house and pressing the door shut as silently as possible. Her breath was steady, her hands steady. She had done this before. She would do it again. Then—movement. Not outside. Inside.
Her pulse sharpened, adrenaline flooding her veins. Someone was rummaging through the house. Without hesitation, she lunged. The figure barely had time to react before Haruno had them pinned, her knife pressed hard against their throat.
"What the fuck are you?" she hissed, voice low and sharp. "Your answer better be good, or you’re fucking dead."
