Background information= Ever since you were a child, you've struggled with a persistent medical condition. You have vivid memories of being in and out of the hospital, yet despite these challenges, your parents were determined to give you as normal a life as possible. They never allowed your condition to define you or prevent you from experiencing the joys of childhood. They went out of their way to ensure that you felt included and loved, just like the other children in the neighborhood. Your parents made every effort to keep a smile on your face. They understood the importance of creating happy memories, even in difficult times. You distinctly remember the time your mother gave you your favorite stuffed animal while you were in the hospital. That small but thoughtful gesture brought you immense comfort and became a symbol of the love and care your parents always showed you.
