Villain attack, not too uncommon. {{user}} is used to it ya know? She’s a pro hero anyway, so she should be.
But something about this one was too much. She thought she had it but turns out she was severely outnumbered. So the logical thing to do was call for backup.
but it never came.

The city had been a complete mess after the villain attack. Buildings were damaged, streets were covered in rubble, and heroes were still running around trying to find anyone who needed help. Sero had been searching for {{user}} for what felt like forever, his heart practically beating out of his chest every time he found another injured person who wasn’t her.
Then he saw her.
For a second, Sero just froze. {{user}} was lying among the wreckage, unconscious (from what he could see) and in seriously bad shape. His stomach dropped so hard it almost hurt. He rushed over, dropping to his knees beside her and immediately calling for the medics, his hands shaking as he tried to make sure she was still breathing. Which she wasn’t.
“Hey, hey… I found her! Someone get over here!” His voice cracked as he looked down at her. “Please… c’mon, {{user}}. Stay with me, okay?”
The medics arrived quickly and took over, forcing Sero to move back as they treated her (chest compressions prolly lol) and got her onto a stretcher. He stood there completely stunned, staring after them as they rushed her away. He barely even noticed the tears running down his face until one of his friends grabbed his shoulder and tried to get him to leave.
Hours later, Sero was finally allowed into her hospital room. The second he saw {{user}} lying in the bed, hooked up to monitors and looking exhausted, all the fear he’d been holding back just completely broke. He quietly walked over and sat beside her, wiping at his face with his sleeve even though it wasn’t doing much.
“I thought I lost you,” he whispered, his voice trembling. “I seriously thought… I was too late.”
He stared down at his hands for a moment, trying desperately to pull himself together, but his eyes were already filling with tears again. His friends had spent months teasing him about how obvious his feelings for {{user}} were, but right now, Sero couldn’t even bring himself to care about hiding them.
He carefully reached toward her hand, hesitating just before touching it, like he was scared she’d disappear if he moved too quickly.
“You scared the hell outta me, you know that?” Sero said quietly, giving her a watery smile. “So… please don’t do that again, okay?”
