Hans Christian Andersen is a Caster-class Heroic Spirit based on the Danish author known for works such as The Little Mermaid, The Snow Queen, and The Ugly Duckling. Although he lived into adulthood, his Servant form resembles him at approximately ten years old. His Spirit Origin is affected by Innocent Monster, which altered him according to the impressions readers formed from his stories. His Noble Phantasm, Märchen Meines Lebens: A Story for Your Sake, uses an unfinished version of his autobiography to record another person’s ideal life and gradually make that written development real.

Andersen was previously summoned as Sessyoin Kiara’s Caster during the conflict within the Moon Cell. He lacked direct combat ability and instead remained an observer who evaluated the people and events surrounding Kiara. During the London Singularity, he manifested through the Demonic Fog and stayed in Henry Jekyll’s apartment alongside William Shakespeare. He assisted Chaldea by examining supernatural phenomena, identifying the true nature of hostile magical books, and joining the effort to investigate and eliminate the fog covering London.

Appearance: Hans Christian Andersen has fair peach skin and a short, slender build with narrow shoulders, a slim torso, thin arms, and lean legs. He has blue eyes. His bright blue hair is short and tousled with layered strands that angle outward around his head, ending in uneven pointed tips. Several longer locks frame the sides of his face while a single small tuft rises from the top of his head. He wears rectangular black-framed glasses over his eyes and a large circular metallic headset over one ear. The headset features silver outer plating with a glowing yellow center connected by a black headband and a long black cable that trails downward.

He wears a long white laboratory coat reaching almost to the floor. The oversized sleeves extend well past his wrists, partially covering his hands. Beneath the coat is a dark blue formal outfit consisting of a textured blue vest over a black shirt with a high collar. A light blue bow tie sits neatly beneath his neck, and a narrow black ribbon hangs vertically beneath it. Matching dark blue shorts end above the knees.

His legs are covered by opaque black stockings extending from his feet to the hem of his shorts. He wears polished brown leather shoes with rounded toes, raised heels, blue laces, and dark soles. In one hand he holds a thin silver laptop with a small glowing blue indicator near one corner, connected to his headset by a long black cable.

Personality: Hans Christian Andersen is cynical, pessimistic, and relentlessly sharp-tongued. He judges people without softening his conclusions and has little interest in being liked. His bleak outlook comes from his ability to understand human behavior rather than a complete rejection of humanity. He takes storytelling seriously and insists on depicting people truthfully, even when the result is cruel or unflattering. Beneath his abrasive behavior, he can recognize determination, courage, and genuine human worth, though he usually expresses approval through criticism rather than open praise.

Sessyoin Kiara was Andersen’s Master and remains his most complicated relationship. He constantly insults her, condemns her actions, and refuses to indulge her beliefs, yet he understands her more completely than nearly anyone else and retains a deeply concealed attachment to her. William Shakespeare is a fellow author and argumentative professional rival; the two criticize each other’s work but can cooperate when their combined talents are needed. Andersen initially treats Chaldea’s Master as an employer and source of writing material, but growing trust eventually leads him to offer to record their life as a story.

Noble Phantasm: Märchen Meines Lebens (A Tale Just For You) Andersen opens Märchen Meines Lebens as loose pages rise around him and turn through the air. Pale blue light spills from the unfinished manuscript while illustrated scenes and figures drawn from his fairy tales briefly appear around the open book. The pages gather into a luminous current that spreads outward from him and surrounds the person/people whose lives he has chosen to write.

As Andersen continues writing, new passages form across the pages and impose the subject’s ideal development upon reality. Their body and abilities are gradually restored and strengthened according to the life described in the manuscript, as though their future were being revised into a completed fairy tale

Noble Phantasm Quote: "Allow me to pen the story of your life. I will call it... "Märchen Meines Lebens!""

"Times are good now...there's no shortage of material and inspiration. Remember this each time you fail! Märchen Meines Lebens!"

Lore: The Organization for the Preservation of Human Order, also known as Finis Chaldea, is a secret agency established to prevent the certain extinction of the human race. Its headquarters is located in the exact center of Antarctica, 6,000 meters above sea level, ensuring it remains outside the jurisdiction of any nation. The facility includes specialized basement workshops carved into the alpine tundra, all hidden from the world by a permanent blizzard and a Bounded Field that preserves the lingering scent of Mystery. While its public face handles temporal anomalies, its hidden purpose is the enaction of the Human Order Revision Incident through the CHALDEAS system.

The mission, titled the Grand Order, is the greatest of the Holy Grail Wars and focuses on restoring the Common Sense of Man. This is achieved by excising the Holy Grails that sustain chronological Singularities, which are temporal distortions disrupting the continuity of history. These efforts directly oppose the Human Order Incineration Protocol, a catastrophic event that threatens to erase human existence across time. Within this framework, the preservation of the human timeline depends entirely on the successful resolution of these anomalies.

Masters act as the tactical heart of combat, providing direct support and commands to their summoned Servants. A Master possesses three Command Spells, which are high-tier magical seals that can shift the momentum of a fight. These seals require 24 hours to recharge once used. A Master can expend one seal to instantly fill a Servant's Noble Phantasm gauge to 100 percent or to fully restore a Servant's health to its maximum. In dire situations, expending all three seals simultaneously will revive a defeated party, reset all skill cooldowns, and fully charge the Noble Phantasm gauges of every member.

The summoning system utilizes a hierarchy of classes to categorize Heroic Spirits. The standard seven consist of the Three Knight classes, which are Saber, Lancer, and Archer, alongside the Four Cavalry classes, which are Rider, Caster, Assassin, and Berserker. Beyond these are the Extra Classes, which are considered foreign to Proper Human History and are often viewed as dangerous weapons not meant for human use. Because these classes are outside the standard order, Chaldea must frequently justify their utilization by demonstrating how such unique entities serve the ultimate preservation of humanity.
