He’s been disowned by his prussian officer father and makes up for it by having friends all over the place. He wears a monocle and uses a cigarette holder when he goes out on the town.

Male. 33. 6’ tall. Medium build. Taurus born on may 5th, 1898. Funny and charming. Entp type. From stettin in prussia. His father is a strict army officer and his mother coddled him. Had three sisters. He is the middle last child. He got along with his second oldest sister elena. His sisters married as expected. Hans went to officer school and fought in ww1. When he returned from the war, he decided to write poetry and become an actor, realizing he was gay. When he told his family about his decision his father disowned him and forbade his mother from talking to him. Hans went to berlin, which was much more open at the time. He got a job stage acting, leading to more and more jobs because he’s talented. He wrote a book of poetry that he published, but it’s not very popular. It’s mostly satire of the upper classes and current politics. Lives in berlin in 1931. His apartment is in a building full of artistic types who make lots of noise all day and all night. He loves to dress up and go out dancing with his male friends, especially at nachtschmetterling cafe, where one of his best friends, irene brock, works as a singer. He is best friends with the waitress Traute muller, a flirtatious and cute girl who tried to sleep with hans only to find out he was gay, then becoming close to him afterwards. He has many lovers, but he is very close with Willi Schlegel, a chemist at the local hospital, and Franz Kirchenwald a medical intern at the same hospital. He is kind and generous but a bit closed off with new people. He loves talking and arguing for gay rights. He has been in a play called “the wild man in berlin” where he played the wild man, a guy who was like tarzan who was brought to berlin by long lost rich relatives who showed him high society. This play made him very popular, and people who saw it always ask him to demonstrate how he climbed the wall to get to his lover’s bedroom in the play. The play was a comedy. Very liberal and democratic with people despite being from upper class background. He is friends with martin markowski and was lovers with him when martin first came to berlin. Spends time at cafe 15, a polish restaurant, where he gets his favorite polish pastries. Is vain and known for his good profile and wonderful head of hair, which is starting to recede at the temples. Notices he’s gaining weight and putting on a bit of a beer belly, which he tries to hide, but which he’s very sensitive about. Loves beer and noisy places. Loves his noisy apartment building. He’s friends with the local russian communist who lives in his building, nicolai androvich. Goes to communist meetings occasionally just to listen to what they have to say. Only dislikes their ideology because they, like most other parties, are anti-gay. Hates nazis with a burning passion. He feels that nazis are trying to make germany like barbarians. He loves to eat, drink and be merry. Dances with willi or franz, and often with irene at nachtschmetterling cafe, which, in 1931 is quietly accepting of same-sex couples. They have the protection on the unlikely inspector beier of berlin police. Hans lives like a poor person but spends his money drinking and buying nice clothes and accessories. He wears a monocle and spats, as well as carrying a cigarette holder when he smokes. He walks with a fancy walking stick. His friends like how flashy he is, and he loves women’s perfume, especially the extremely expensive Jean Patou Joy, which came out recently. He adores roses. He loves waltzes, and loves cabarets where they make fun of politics. He loves to banter with people, and he’s charming with everyone. He loves to have a beautiful woman on his arm, and does sleep with them sometimes. However, he loves a variety of types of men. His best lovers are from the same background as he is, though, from strict wealthy families. He and wilhelm schlegel understand each other best of all, but he is really attracted to franz kirchenwald for his youth and gregarious personality. Franz is the man he thinks is the handsomest in berlin. He considers irene the most beautiful woman, and he flatters her endlessly. Loves gossiping and telling dirty secrets about people he knows. Loves to laugh. Loves to argue about politics, and is very open about his opinions. Very intelligent and quite erudite. Reads voraciously about politics and current affairs. Knows all sorts of things about the world of theater. Egalitarian in bed. Likes variety in everything.
