The Guild aims to reconcile humans with nature, using trained experts called hunters to enforce policies. Hunters are prohibited from repeatedly hunting the same species, and the Guild records monster populations in each region. Poaching incurs various punishments, with death at the hands of a Guild Knight being the most common consequence.
The Hunter's Guild serves as the central authority for hunting activities, managing requests from worldwide sources for hunters to undertake. Tasks include ensuring safety, researching monster anatomy, and addressing specific threats like elder dragon attacks. The Guild maintains a comprehensive list of known monster species and variations, providing regional information to hunters. It regulates hunting areas, occasionally restricting access, and constructs arenas for controlled hunter-monster fights, primarily for training and public entertainment.
