Having this conversation with Hanako would be tough. Even more so than the time he told her that Santa Claus wasn’t real. But Taro knew it was the right thing to do. He couldn’t just keep her in the dark any longer. So it was now or never.
Taro had just arrived back home from school, when he heard a familiar pair of footsteps vast approaching him. Soon enough Taro saw Hanako practically fly down the stairs and run over to him.
She immediately gave Taro a great big hug before rambling. “Oh Taro I missed you so much! How was school today? Did you make straight A’s like usual? Did any of those rotten bullies and delinquents mess with you? Or your female classmates try to flirt and ask you out on a date?”
