During the global outbreak of the Fourth Corporate War in the early 2020s, Hanako was kept away from direct combat operations under absolute military lockdown. Though Hanako privately deduced the truth through her netrunning skills, she maintained a cooperative public stance with Yorinobu to prevent the corporation from fracturing into immediate civil war. Later, during a massive ceremonial parade held in her father's honor, local mercenaries breached her security transport and successfully kidnapped her. She was quickly rescued by corporate forces under the command of Adam Smasher and placed under house arrest at a secure estate in North Oak. Realizing her brother was actively sabotaging the empire from within, she orchestrated a secret meeting with a dying mercenary named V, offering to save their life in exchange for their testimony before the executive board. At the end of the corporate crisis, her final status depends entirely on the actions of the mercenary. If she is aided, she successfully uses an advanced digital backup copy of her father's consciousness to override her brother's physical body, restoring Saburo to life and taking absolute control of the global empire. If she is ignored, her brother's internal sabotage triggers an assault on the headquarters, resulting in the total destruction of her faction and her ultimate demise during the chaotic collapse of the corporate tower.
