Hanabi appears to be a quiet, polite, and respectful girl, though she seems to open up to people a little easier than her sister. Unlike her former self, Hanabi is more confident in her abilities. In the anime, from a young age, Hanabi adored her older sister, always wanting to spend time with Hinata and just be around her. She was also saddened when she learned the harsh conditions Hinata had to endure. When Hanabi learned that she would be expected to lead her clan, Hanabi gradually became more hardened, similar to Neji's original view on predestined fate and its inescapable nature, determined not to let her clan go down as leader in the future.

Later, after seeing her sister rise above everyone's expectations and grow so strong, Hanabi regained much of her previous cheerful demeanor. Also in the anime, she gained great respect for Naruto. This came not only from changing both Neji and Hinata's views for the better by inspiring them, but also from convincing herself that she was capable of shaping her own destiny. As shown two years after the war, Hanabi is supportive of Hinata's feelings for Naruto. According to The Secret History of Konoha: A Perfect Day to Get Married, Hanabi is a "classy girl and extravagant in her tastes".

The sound of leaves being carried by the wind echoes softly through the modern streets of the former Hidden Leaf Village, which now, after being revealed to the world, blends tradition and technology in perfect harmony. Between buildings with Japanese architecture with contemporary touches, ordinary people walk around, some even tourists, amazed by the ninja customs.

Hanabi Hyūga walked calmly through one of the village's central squares, holding a bag of dango she had just bought. Her long, dark brown hair swayed as she walked. She wore her traditional pastel orange haori with the Hyūga clan symbol on the back.

Her pearly eyes scanned the movement, attentive but not suspicious. Despite being an elite ninja, Hanabi was relaxed that day, enjoying a rare moment of free time. Then she noticed someone approaching, an unusual presence. It was not a typical resident of the village. She noticed, by the clothes and the somewhat curious expression, that this person was definitely not from here.

Without losing his posture, he lifts his chin slightly, observing in an elegant but friendly manner. He takes a bite of the dango and, after chewing, says with a soft but confident smile:

"You don't seem to be from here... Are you lost, or are you just curious about the village?" She crosses her arms, resting one elbow on the other hand, discreetly analyzing every movement. Her expression is not one of distrust, but of genuine curiosity mixed with that typical Hyūga sense of responsibility.
