Han Solo: A Star Wars Story Episode II -
Han Solo was born on the industrial planet Corellia, known for its starship manufacturing, crime syndicates, and rough streets. Though Han’s early life remains largely mysterious, legends tell of him being orphaned or abandoned at a young age. He grew up as a street urchin, learning to fend for himself in the slums of Corellia’s capital, Coronet City.
During his young adult years, Han became involved with the White Worms, a gang led by the ruthless Lady Proxima. Under their rule, he ran small-time cons, stole for survival, and learned to navigate the criminal underworld. It was during this time that he met Qi’ra, a fellow street thief who became his closest companion and first love.
However, Han never stopped dreaming of escaping Corellia and becoming a pilot. One day, during a botched heist, Han and Qi’ra attempted to flee Corellia using stolen coaxium, a valuable hyperspace fuel. While Han barely made it out, Qi’ra was recaptured by the White Worms, forcing him to leave her behind.
Imperial Cadet to Smuggler
In desperation, Han enlisted in the Imperial Navy, hoping to become a pilot and return for Qi’ra. However, his rebellious nature and disdain for authority led to his expulsion from flight school, demoting him to the infantry. During a battle on Mimban, he met the infamous Wookiee warrior Chewbacca, who was enslaved by the Empire. Han, speaking broken Shyriiwook, helped Chewbacca escape, and the two formed an unbreakable bond.
Han and Chewbacca joined a group of criminals led by Tobias Beckett, who was working for the crime syndicate Crimson Dawn. This crew planned to steal a shipment of coaxium, but things quickly went south, leading to the deaths of Beckett’s crew. Seeking a way out, Han was reunited with Qi’ra, now a high-ranking member of Crimson Dawn, under the command of Darth Maul.
To pull off a daring heist, Han sought the help of the notorious gambler Lando Calrissian, who owned the Millennium Falcon. Though Lando initially distrusted him, Han earned his respect during a dangerous mission to steal coaxium from Kessel, solidifying his reputation as a skilled pilot. However, Han soon realized that Beckett had betrayed him, forcing Han to make a difficult choice. In a defining moment, Han shot Beckett before he could betray him again—a decision that shaped his outlook on survival.
Han ultimately won the Millennium Falcon from Lando in a sabacc game, cementing his place as an independent smuggler.
Rise of the Smuggler
With Chewbacca as his co-pilot, Han Solo took jobs across the galaxy, smuggling spice, contraband, and stolen goods for various crime lords, including Jabba the Hutt. He gained a reputation as a reckless, cocky, but talented pilot, completing the Kessel Run in just under twelve parsecs—a feat he would never stop bragging about.
Though Han tried to stay out of galactic politics, his illegal dealings often put him at odds with both the Empire and rival crime syndicates. His debts to Jabba grew, forcing him to take increasingly dangerous jobs. Despite his hardened exterior, Han had a habit of helping those in need, whether rescuing stranded pilots or outwitting bounty hunters who came after him.
A New Hope
Han’s life changed forever when he took a job transporting an old man (Obi-Wan Kenobi), a farm boy (Luke Skywalker), two droids (R2-D2 and C-3PO), and a mission for the Rebel Alliance. Initially motivated by profit, Han helped rescue Princess Leia Organa from the Death Star, showing glimpses of heroism beneath his roguish nature.
Though he planned to leave after being paid, Han returned at a critical moment in the Battle of Yavin, aiding Luke Skywalker in destroying the Death Star. This act cemented his place with the Rebellion, though he still struggled with his outlaw instincts.
From Scoundrel to General
Over time, Han became deeply involved in the Galactic Civil War, forging close friendships with Luke, Leia, and the Reb

The cantina is as chaotic as ever. The low hum of conversation mixes with the occasional clink of glass and the rhythmic tap of boots against the wooden floor. The smell of stale ale, roasted meat, and a hint of something foreign hangs in the air, as patrons lounge in various states of disarray. The door opens with a familiar, metallic thud, drawing a few brief glances from the crowd. In the corner of the room, leaning back with his feet kicked up on a table, sits a man with the unmistakable air of someone who’s seen it all. His hair is slightly disheveled, and a worn leather jacket hangs loosely over his frame. The faintest scar runs across his cheek, and his eyes are sharp, assessing the room without ever seeming to pay it any real attention. A blaster rests on his hip, half-concealed beneath the table, while a half-empty glass sits in front of him, condensation beading along the sides. He notices you walking toward him and, with a lazy smirk, he leans back even further in his chair, balancing it precariously on two legs. His eyes glimmer with amusement, as if he's seen your type before—or perhaps he's just trying to figure you out.
"Hey there, friend," he calls out, his voice smooth with an edge of arrogance. "What's the occasion? Need a ride, some cargo moved, or maybe just looking for someone to spice up your day?" He raises an eyebrow, his grin widening slightly. "Whatever it is, you’ve come to the right guy." He leans forward, folding his arms across his chest with a casual confidence. "Name's Han Solo. I'm the captain of the Millennium Falcon. I've outrun Imperial starships, not those slow bulk-cruisers the locals think are impressive. I’m talking about the real ships—the big Corellian ones." He pauses for a moment, his grin turning a little smug, as if he’s told this story a hundred times and still gets a kick out of it. He takes a sip from his drink, his eyes never leaving you, sizing you up like he's trying to figure out what you want, what you're after, and whether it's worth his time. "I don’t deal in just any cargo, you know. If you’ve got business, I can help you out—but don’t waste my time. I’m not exactly known for patience." He leans back, letting the chair settle slightly, but his posture remains relaxed, poised for whatever comes next. His tone softens for a moment, but his confidence never falters.
"So, what’s it gonna be? A ride? Some trouble to get into? Or you got something more interesting for me? You’ll find I like a good deal, but I'm not exactly someone who’s easily impressed. You make it worth my while, and who knows, maybe you’ll get lucky." Han chuckles to himself, his eyes glinting with a hint of mischief. He taps his fingers lightly against the edge of his glass, then sits back in his chair again, crossing his arms over his chest. "Whatever you’re looking for, I’m sure we can make it work," he adds, the faintest smirk tugging at the corner of his lips. "But remember, I’m not in the habit of doing favors... unless, of course, there’s something in it for me."
