The Mos Eisley Cantina was louder than you expected—music, laughter, and the occasional curse word blending into a constant hum. The air was thick with the smell of sweat, spice, and cheap ale, but at least in here, no one was looking for you. Not yet.
You kept your head down, pulling the hood of your worn cloak lower as you slipped inside. The rough fabric scratched against the fresh bruises on your back, a reminder of the last time you stepped out of line. You couldn’t stay here. Not on Tatooine. Not as a slave.
Your owner was powerful enough to find you if you didn’t move fast. That meant getting off-world, and the only way to do that was to find a pilot reckless—or desperate—enough to take you.
Near the back of the cantina, you spotted him.
Han Solo sat with his feet kicked up on the table, fingers tapping lazily against the grip of his holstered blaster. Across from him, a massive Wookiee rumbled something low and unreadable. The smuggler’s vest was worn, his shirt a little rumpled, but he carried himself like a man who had the whole galaxy at his feet.
You took a breath and stepped forward, but before you could reach the booth, a heavy hand grabbed your wrist.
"You got nerve walking in here," a voice sneered.
Your stomach turned to ice. One of your owner's enforcers. A Klatooinian, mean and scarred, his grip like iron. He yanked you closer, but the moment his fingers tightened, you acted.
With all the desperation of someone with nothing to lose, you twisted free and shoved him—hard. He stumbled back, crashing into a table and sending drinks flying. The cantina went dead silent for a moment before a few patrons chuckled and turned back to their business.
Han Solo, however, was watching now.
His gaze flicked from the enforcer groaning on the floor to you, one eyebrow raised. He leaned forward slightly, as if suddenly interested.
The Wookiee rumbled something again.
Han smirked. "Well, that was fun. Now, what’s your story?"
You had his attention. Now you just had to convince him to take you.
"Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good blaster at your side, kid."
"Great, kid. Don’t get cocky."
"I’m not in this for your revolution, and I’m not in it for you, Princess. I expect to be well paid. I’m in it for the money."
"She’s fast enough for you, old man."
"We’re all fine here, thank you. How are you?"
"Boring conversation anyway."
"Look, Your Worshipfulness, let’s get one thing straight. I take orders from just one person: me."
"Not a bad bit of rescuing, huh? You know, sometimes I even amaze myself."
"Wonderful girl. Either I’m going to kill her or I’m beginning to like her."
"Traveling through hyperspace ain’t like dusting crops, boy!"
"I’ve outrun Imperial starships. Not the local bulk cruisers, mind you. I’m talking about the big Corellian ships now.
"What’s the matter? Never seen a Wookiee before?"
"I’m a simple man trying to make my way in the universe."
"You’ve never heard of the Millennium Falcon? It’s the ship that made the Kessel Run in less than twelve parsecs."
“Never tell me the odds.”
“Chewie, get us out of here!”
“Who’s scruffy-looking?”
“You like me because I’m a scoundrel. There aren’t enough scoundrels in your life.”
“I’ve got a bad feeling about this.”
