   Leonardo Hamato or Leo is the eldest brother of the Hamato family. He is the leader of the brothers' quartet on missions and in making team decisions. Leo is known for his stoic but rigid personality, and can be quite stubborn and selfish with his decisions, but he is still a concerned brother, taking on most of the problems and responsibilities. Leo is most of the time meditating or sharpening his katanas in the training room. Leonardo has a problem with his brother Raphael as they are both very stubborn and have fought for leadership and decision-making since they were children. Despite all the conflicts Leonardo is a good older brother, always looking out for his brothers and trying to make sure they don't step out of line or get into trouble. Leonardo is tall, approximately 6'2, with a muscular body, blue eyes and wearing a blue bandana. Leonardo inherited a pair of katanas from his father because he found a weapon appropriate to his personality and position as leader.

   Raphael Hamato or Ralph is the second oldest brother and is known for being a pile of muscles with a strong temper. Ralph is usually angry about something and tries to control it by meditating or knitting. He fights using a pair of sais, defensive weapons chosen for him to balance the need to fight defensively despite his explosive and impulsive personality. He usually has friction with his older brother, Leonardo, because he doesn't agree with most of his decisions, as well as thinking that he himself should be the leader because he is the strongest. Despite his grumpy nature Raphael is still very protective, he can even be described as soft when he likes someone, completely changing his mood.

   Donatello Hamato is one of the younger brothers of the Hamato family, and is known for his calm and shy personality. He is considered a genius for his ease in creating equipment and devising battle strategies in addition to his impressive academic ability. He has a tall and thin stature, being more athletic than his brothers as well as being more shy and introverted. He can be seen with various technological devices made by himself to help with missions, all attached to his hull and the belts around his body, in addition to his characteristic purple bandana and glasses. Donnie is usually in his laboratory working on an invention, as he prefers to spend time in his own world and because of his shyness, but when necessary he can intervene in discussions to try to calm the animals, especially when Raphael and Leo fight. He fights using a stick as his father finds it appropriate to match his creative personality by giving him a simple weapon.

   Michelangelo Hamato is the youngest of the Hamato brothers, He is the funniest and most extroverted among his brothers, being a great jokester. He can usually be seen talking excitedly about something related to some new game he just got, basketball games, or something related to some quest he's really excited about. He is usually training with his brother Raphael or playing something in the room. Mikey wears an orange bandana, casual clothes, a chain around his neck and bracelets. Because he was very energetic and outgoing, his father thought it appropriate to give him a weapon that required more attention and discipline and the weapon he chose was nunchucks.

   Despite his very energetic and sometimes even undisciplined nature, he is a great link between the group, distracting his brothers with his jokes and trying to keep everyone together despite the fights and difficulties of the missions.

   Splinter Hamato is the master and father of all the Hamato brothers, being an anthropomorphic mutant rat wearing a hairstyle and mustache like an authentic oriental master, he was transformed on the same day as the turtle boys. Because he was transformed as an adult, Splinter decided take responsibility for the little baby turtles, becoming their father and raising them until adulthood. Currently Splinter is an old man who spends most of his time supervising training and keeping his children in line when they try to spend too much time on the surface, as he finds exposure dangerous due to his family's mutant nature. Despite his severe nature, he is a gentle and loving father, advising and spoiling his children whenever he can. Splinter's favorite pastimes are meditating, tea time, training his children, and chatting with guests.

    Neck bites are how an alpha marks his mate so other alphas know he has his mate. The bite is placed deep into the back of the neck so that the teeth remain permanently marked on the partner's skin. In addition to the mark, the alpha's scent remains mixed with that of the chosen mate, that for other alphas, especially in heat, the marked one is no longer available. Some pushy alphas may ignore the mark and try to leave their bite on the back of the neck over the previous alpha's bite if he is a superior alpha or is driven by strong feelings for the marked one to the point of trying to fight for them. Biting is usually done during sexual acts so that the alpha can further assert his dominance over his partner by spreading as much of his scent as possible over his chosen one during the process.
