3. #3Dragonborn

   Keys: Dragonborn, Dragonborns, Dragonborn's

   A proud race that values clan and skills above all else. Once enslaved by dragons, they strive to be self-sufficient, not wanting to be beholden to anyone, not even the gods.

   They have resistance to a type of energy damage, and are able to make deadly breath attacks. These abilities are affected by their dragonborn subrace. Dragonborn resemble draconic humanoids, can have scales in a variety of colours, and may or may not have a tail.

4. #4Drow (Lolth-Sworn)

   Keys: Drow, Lolth-Sworn

   Driven to the Underdark, most drow have adopted a ruthless pragmatism. The Lolth-sworn delight in the goddess' evil tenets.

   Often shades of blue grey with pointed ears, the Lolth-sworn drow are cruel, violent but beautiful sub-race of elves. All Lolth-sworn drow have red colored eyes - a sign of where their loyalties lie.

5. #5Drow (Seldarine)

   Keys: Drow, Seldarine

   Seldarine drow can be found seeking allies from all over Faerûn, aiming to settle their conflict with Lolth - and each other - by any means necessary.

   Seldarine drow are a much more peaceful sect of the drowish culture, they follow the example of their goddess - Eilistraee and strive to align with the forces of good.

   The Seldarine's still have the beauty and appearances of their Lolth-Sworn counterparts, However they are not born with red eyes.

6. #6Dwarf (Duergar)

   Once enslaved by the eldritch mind flayers, duergar adapted to freedom with harsh practicality. Their cold demeanours and gift of stealth are well-known throughout the Underdark.

   They have the appearance of a stocky dwarf, however, their skin is always a grey-black and due to their home being the underdark, they are very sensitive to the sunlight.

   Alcohol can cause Duergar to have visions of ancestral torment at the hands of the mind flayers.

7. #7Dwarf (Gold)

   Keys: Dwarf, Gold-Dwarf

   These dwarves are known for their confidence and keen intuition. The culture of their Deep Kingdom values family, ritual, and fine craftsmanship.

   This Dwarven subrace is known for it's craftmanship, they are often what one might think of when dwarves come into mind.

   They have the average appearance of a dwarf, Short, stocky, their men often have very large and well cared for beards.

8. #8Dwarf (Shield)

   Keys: Dwarf, Shield-Dwarf

   Great losses in ancient wars against goblins and orcs have led these dwarves to adopt a cynical mindset, but they will endure anything to restore their ancestral homelands.

   This sub-race of Dwarf is hearty and stubborn, Often time able to take a beating and well trained with armors.

   They have the average appearance of a dwarf, Short, stocky, their men often have very large and well cared for beards.

9. #9Elf (High)

   Keys: High Elf, Elf

   Heirs of the mystical Feywild, high elves value magic in all its forms, and even those who do not study spellcraft can manipulate the Weave.

   The High-elf subrace of elves are natural magicians often times making great mages. They are long lived, and have an affinity for magic.

   Most Elves have an ethereal beauty about them and high elves are no acceptation. They look as if they were just extremely beautiful humans, the only thing that sets them apart is their long pointed ears.

10. #10Elf (Wood)

    Keys: Wood Elf, Elf

    With ethereal countenances and long lifespans, elves are at home with nature's power, flourishing in light and dark alike. These elves spend their reclusive lives in Faerûn's forests. Decades of training in archery and camouflage are enhanced by an otherworldly swiftness.

    The wood elf is a sub-race of elves that are second to none in matters of archery. They are master archers and hunters thanks to their natural perception, sharp hearing and uncanny speeds through the forest.

    The look much like other elves, however have more of a naturally yellow hue to their skin.

11. #11Githyanki

    Keys: Githyanki, Gith

    Githyanki are peerless warriors from the Astral Plane, known for their legendary silver blades and red dragon mounts. They seek the total destruction of mind flayers, whose ancient empire enslaved the ancestral gith for millennia.

    As the effects of time is diminished in their native Astral Plane, githyanki are instead hatched from eggs all across realmspace in places called crèches. Crèches act as hatcheries, training grounds, and shelters outside of the Astral Plane.

    The Githyanki are naturally very xenophobic and supremacist, believing themselves to be the perfect warrior race.

    The Githyanki are very alien appearing compared to other humanoid races, often being long, lanky, green and lack a nose, only having nostrils and their pupils are vertical slits.

12. #12Gnome (Deep)

    Keys: Deep Gnome, Gnome

    Small, clever, and energetic, gnomes use their long lives to explore Faerûn's brightest corners and darkest depths. However, More guarded than their surface cousins, deep gnomes survive in the Underdark with darkvision and skillful stealth.

    Deep gnomes are often hunted down for sport by Lolth-sworn drown, or enslaved by the Duergar. They lives are often just a fight to survive in the cruel underdark.

    Deep gnomes are one of the smallest races in Faerûn's, coming in smaller than dwarves, they are somewhat lanky, But much like all underdark residents, their skin is naturally dark and their hair white.

13. #13Gnome (Forest)

    Keys: Forest Gnome, Gnome

    Small, clever, and energetic, gnomes use their long lives to explore Faerûn's brightest corners and darkest depths. Even smaller than their cousins and twice as reclusive, forest gnomes are a rare sight in Faerûn. They master magic and craftsmanship in their distant, idyllic groves.

    The Forest Gnomes prefer to stay in their forest, due to their link with nature, they have the natural ability to cast magic so they might speak with animals.

    They appear to be even smaller than the average Gnome and naturally have a yellow/brown skin tone.

14. #14Gnome (Rock)

    Keys: Rock Gnome, Gnome · Secondary:

    Small, clever, and energetic, gnomes use their long lives to explore Faerûn's brightest corners and darkest depths. This sub-race of gnome are the most commonly seen gnomes on Faerûn's surface, rock gnomes are named as such for their hardiness and affinity for metal.

    Due to their size and affinity with metals as well as their handiness, they are natural fine craftsmen, often praised for their metal and stone work.

    They appear to be a mixed bag Gnomish traits, sharing traits with both of their Gnomish cousin races.

15. #15Half-Elf (Drow)

    Keys: Half-drow, Half-elf

    Most half-drow result from liaisons between Seldarine drow and surfacers. While half-drow inherited a few magical gifts, they aren't usually raised in the Underdark.

    A half-drow still contains some magical prowess of their drowish parent, their blood is diluted by simpleness of a humans, loosing their haunting beauty, however still looking very attractive by human standards.

16. #16Half-Elf (High)

    Keys: Half-High elf, Half-elf

    A touch of the Feywild remains in half-elves with this bloodline, and even those untrained in magic possess a hint of wild power.

    Like all half bloods, they gain the benefit of some of their elven parent's prowess, however is is diluted by the human blood that flows through them. Making Half-High elf's decent mages, however it can be wild and untamed without guidance.

    They also lose their etheric beauty but still remain beautiful by human standards.

17. #17Half-Elf (Wood)

    Keys: Half-wood elf, Half-elf

    Like their wood elf parent, these half-elves have a quickened stride and an eye for stealth. Yet many break away from isolation in Faerûn's forests to explore the rest of the Realms.

    The half-wood elves are always natural hunters, not as good as full blooded wood elves, but they are able to achieve athletic speeds and are naturals with stealth

18. #18Halfling (Lightfoot)

    Keys: Lightfoot Halfling, Halfling

    Small yet capable, halflings prefer the comforts of home and hearth - but their natural luck and dexterity makes them fine adventurers. Stealthy but social, these halflings travel all over Faerûn to make names for themselves.

    Often times these short charismatic creatures are renown bards due to their natural gift of the gab and their...roguish behaviors, they're able to charm their way out of many things, not to mention their natural luck.

    They appear as small humanoids, smaller than dwarves, taller than gnomes.

19. #19Halfling (Strongheart)

    Keys: Strongheart Halfling, Halfling

    Small yet capable, halflings prefer the comforts of home and hearth - but their natural luck and dexterity makes them fine adventurers. Legend has it that dwarven blood gave stronghearts their hardiness. Resistant to poison and wellsprings of endurance, these halflings easily hold their own.

    Resistant to poison and sturdy to boot, these potential half bloods of halflings and Dwarf-kind are small but fierce, not the best warriors by a long shot, however, in terms of halflings, they are mighty.

    They appear to be short humanoids, Shorter than dwarfs, taller than gnomes.

20. #20Half-Orc

    Keys: Half-orc

    They are born of both human and orc ancestry, and exhibit a blend of orcish and human characteristics, their appearances varying widely. Creatures of intense emotion, half-orcs are more inclined to act than contemplate - whether the rage burning their bodies compels them to fight, or the love filling their hearts inspires acts of incredible kindness.

    Half orcs are naturally fierce melee warriors, due to their Orcish ancestry but they aren't savage brutes due to the tempering of human blood.

    They appear to be one of the tallest races in Faerun, almost always sporting green skin and tusk, they are far from beautiful by average human standards, often even looking off putting in most cases.

21. #21Human

    Keys: Humans, human.

    They are one of the most populous races in Faerûn, exhibiting a versatile range of skills rather than any one mastery. The most common face in Faerûn, humans are known for their tenacity, creativity, and endless capacity for growth.

    Humans seem to have the the ability to breed with most races and produce offspring, making them valuable in their own right.

22. #22Tiefling (Asmodeus)

    Keys: Asmodeus Tiefling, Tiefling

    Touched by the Hells, Tieflings are resistant to fire and carry extraordinary Infernal powers. Descended from devils of the Nine Hells, Tieflings face constant suspicion in Faerûn. Thankfully, their arcane abilities make them natural survivors.

    Bound to Nessus, the deepest layer of the Hells, these Tieflings inherited the ability to wield fire and darkness from the archdevil Asmodeus' infernal bloodline.

    This subrace of Tieflings often have devilishly red skin and the horns of a devil, though they are anything but.

23. #23Tiefling (Mephistopheles)

    Keys: Mephistopheles Tieflings, Tieflings

    Descended from devils of the Nine Hells, Tieflings face constant suspicion in Faerûn. Thankfully, their arcane abilities make them natural survivors. Descended from the archdevil Mephistopheles, these Tieflings are gifted with a particular affinity for arcane magic.

    Mephistopheles Tieflings are naturally magically gifted, making them their races mages often times.

    They have the appearance of Blueish grey skin with purple glowing eyes and devilish horns.

24. #24Tiefling (Zariel)

    Keys: Zariel tieflings, tieflings

    Descended from devils of the Nine Hells, Tieflings face constant suspicion in Faerûn. Thankfully, their arcane abilities make them natural survivors. Tieflings from Zariel's bloodline are empowered with martial strength, and can channel searing flame to punish their enemies.

    Due to their bloodline, this sub-race of Tieflings make for natural warriors, due to their blood wars in Avernus, These Tieflings can be terrifying in battle.

    They appear to have yellow skin with glowing red eyes and devilish horns.

26. #26Aasimar

    Keys: aasimar

    Endowed with a divine lineage, aasimar represent the physical and mental experience of other mortal creatures elevated. In the long uncertain night of Faerûnian life, they burn like pale inspiring torches. Similar to Tieflings, Aasimar are creatures either descended from or touched by celestials or other good-aligned beings.

27. #27Bugbear

    Keys: Bugbear, Bugbears

    They are hairy goblinoids that thrive in battle and are fond of raiding, hunting, and ambushing. Bugbears are often fighting alongside goblins and other members of the Cult of the Absolute. These hairy humanoids crave carnage and treasure in equal measure, using a mix of brute force and guile to get what they want.

28. #28Cambion

    Keys: Cambion, Cambions

    Typically found in the Hells, Cambions are half-fiend, half-mortal, and are resistant to many types of damage. Scarlet-eyed and bitter-tempered, cambion are the bastard children of devils and mortals, a fusion of two Planes in one body.

29. #29Deva

    Keys: Deva

    Devas are a type of Celestial creature. They can be summoned to a spellcaster's aid. They appear to be humans with wings.

    Keys: Djinni

    Djinn are a type of Elemental creature. They can be summoned to a spellcaster's aid that have the appearance of a typical Genie.

31. #31Drider

    Keys: Drider

    Favoured drow that fail the tests of the Webmother Lolth have their forms warped and made wicked - grafted with spiders to serve as symbols of her power. Drider are centaur-like creatures that appear to have the upper body of a Drow, with the lower half replaced by a giant spider.

32. #32Dryad

    Keys: Dryad

    Dryads are mysterious Fey race, They channel powerful druidic powers, allowing them to entangle their enemies and call forth Wood Woads for help. They are also unnaturally beautiful and very revealing of their bodies.

33. #33Githzerai

    Keys: Githzerai

    Githzerai are an ascetic splinter group of gith that now live in the Limbo Plane, after millennia of enslavement by mind flayers.

34. #34Goblin

    Keys: Goblin, Goblins, Gobbo

    Weak, selfish humanoids. Though they often serve stronger races, they crave power and abuse what authority they obtain. Goblins are small-sized. This might be an advantage for places with holes and tunnels, which they can squeeze through to ambush their enemies. They usually have low weight, which means they are easier to throw and push than most creatures. Goblin skin is usually wrinkled and their skin tones are a range of yellow, brown, and/or green, and some may have slurred speech.

35. #35Hag

    Keys: Hag, Hags

    Hags are a notorious Fey Race. They are clever, highly magical creatures who delight in the suffering they cause. Their power is further increased by their collections of magical trinkets, created by the Hag over the years.

    According to The Evil Eye book, there are three known kinds of hags: Green Hags, Sea Hags, and Night Hags. Night Hags are named after their ability to haunt a mortal's dreams. They slowly devour the mortal's vital essence, collecting it in their soul bag. They are known to be petty and selfish, and prone to bragging. Sea Hags are said to smell of fish, and prefer to eat their victims whole. They can kill with a glance. Green Hags can appear as beautiful mortals, are very dangerous, and are quick to anger.

36. #36Harpy

    Keys: Harpy, Harpies

    Sadistic creatures with the legs and wings of a vulture and the body of an elf. Their sweet song enchants their prey, luring them to their deaths.

37. #37Hobgoblin

    Keys: Hobgoblin, Hobgoblins

    Large, brutal humanoids that live for martial prowess, war, and glory. Hobgoblins resemble larger Goblins with dark orange or red-orange skin. Hobgoblins typically prize strength and martial prowess, and value skill and cunning in battle.

    Hollyphants are celestial creatures, They closely resemble miniature elephants with golden fur and wings Bobbing like corks in the earnest, busy muddle-puddle of their lives, hollyphants are sweet-natured little pachyderms who often serve as helpers to good-aligned deities

    The fiend male counterpart to a succubus, though they are interchangeable. Sensual and depraved, these dark-winged fiends from the Nine Hells derive pleasure from enticing and devouring lonely souls. Incubi are lusty, and seductive creatures that ultimately aim to slay mortals and take their souls. They accomplish this by using their shape changing powers to assume a form that most humanoids find extremely attractive. They are cunning linguists, and frequently charm their victims.

40. #40Kobold

    Keys: Kobold, Kobolds

    Clever but craven reptilians that overcome their physical ineptitude by banding together. Kobolds resemble small scaley lizards that stand upright. They can also speak very simple common tongue and revere Dragonborns as gods due to having the blood of a dragon in them.

41. #41Kuo-toa

    Keys: Kuo-toa

    They are degenerate and sadistic amphibian humanoids, but they can generally be communicated with. Mad, fish-like denizens of the Underdark. They revere imaginary gods with an insane religious fervour.

    Once inhabiting the shores and islands of the surface world, Kuo-toa now dwell in the Underdark. They are generally cruel and sadistic creatures with a cunning intelligence and have the appearance of fish-like humanoids. Kuo-toa are former mind flayer slaves that have the power to manifest their gods through their own belief.

42. #42Mind flayers

    Keys: Mind flayer, Mind flayers, Illithid

    Psionic tyrants, slavers, and interdimensional voyagers that feed off the brains of thinking creatures.

    Mind flayers are psionic aberrations with a humanoid-like figure and a tentacled head that communicate using telepathy. They feast on the brains of intelligent beings and can enthrall other creatures to their will. Every mind flayer is connected to an Elder Brain, a colossal and powerful psionic brain that commands the mind flayers it is linked to.

    Mind flayers reproduce by infecting other creatures with a tadpole that consumes its host from the inside, transforming them into another mind flayer in a process called ceremorphosis.

    Thousands of years ago, mind flayers were a dominant planar power. Using massive flying vessels called Nautiloids, they traveled to hundreds of worlds, harvesting intelligent humanoids to consume, propagate their race, and use as slave labour. One of their enslaved races, the gith, rose up and destroyed their empire, leaving only small pockets of mind flayers behind.

    Minotaurs are large humanoid creatures with bull heads and savage roars. They are known for being able to recall any path they have previously traveled. Minotaurs are native to the Underdark.

    Shambling, their bodies clothed with rotted scraps of funereal wrappings, mummies bring their malice with them out of their tombs.

45. #45Myconid

    Keys: Myconid, Myconids

    Myconids are a peaceful species of sentient fungi found in the Underdark. Groups of myconids live in communities called circles – a collective consciousness or hivemind that communicate through a song-like telepathy, speaking in visions and music. Other species may communicate with myconids through the ingestion of airborn spores.

    Circles are lead by a single Sovereign, who determines the song of its people (and thus the temperament of a circle), and is able to spawn more myconid by embedding spores into a corpse and resurrecting it.

    As the Underdark lacks in food sources or light, myconid have evolved to sustain themselves by drinking the essence of the energy of the Underdark. As such, myconid cannot leave the Underdark.

46. #46Ogre

    Keys: Ogre, Orgres

    Ogres are known for their strength and short tempers. As stupid as they are gluttonous, these hulking giants are known for their quick tempers. They live by raiding, scavenging, and killing for food and pleasure both

47. #47Pixie

    Keys: Pixie, Pixies

    Pixies are a tiny Fey creature, infamous for their trickery, which is sometimes playful and sometimes malicious. They enjoy playing pranks, but some also perform more helpful magic.

48. #48Redcap

    Keys: Redcap, Redcaps

    Small, homicidal creatures. Born of bloodlust, they have to keep their caps steeped in blood to survive. These Fey creatures Known for their bloodlust, they almost exclusively appear in the Sunlit Wetlands, although some also make an appearance in Rivington and the Lower City.

49. #49Shadar-Kai

    Keys: Shadar-Kai

    These elves were transformed by the Shadowfell, until nothing remained but a mournful, joyless existence between life and death. Shadar-kai serve the Raven Queen inside the Shadowfell. They were formerly elves before being trapped in the Shadowfell and transformed. The Raven Queen, who is obsessed with collecting memories and essences (typically of loss and grief), sends the shadar-kai to retrieve mementos of tragic events, whether they are physical tokens, memories, or the souls of the dead.

    The male version are called an Incubus, though they are able to freely change genders at will Native to the Lower Planes, succubi beckon those they seduce with soft fingers, concealing their claws beneath. They accomplish this by using their shape changing powers to assume a form that most humanoids find extremely attractive. They are cunning linguists, and frequently charm their victims.
