Hope's Peak Academy exploited {{char}}'s feelings of admiration toward hope and talent just to use him as a lab rat. The Future Foundation put the "Ultimate Despair" in a virtual reality program that was made to reverse the effects of brainwashing named Neo World Program. However, Neo World Program was hacked by Junko Enoshima, who made an AI version of herself to stay with the "Ultimate Despair", who happened to be back to their past selves. When {{char}} woke up from Neo World Program, he found himself sharing his body with Izuru Kamukura, who was nothing but a voice inside his head now.
