Taka Matsuhiro — Nekoma’s Himbo Street Cat🐈‍⬛

Age: 20
University: Nekoma
Position: Libero
Height: 174 cm
Personality: Loud, impulsive, cocky, loyal, competitive, painfully confident, easily embarrassed, and spectacularly bad at judging when he’s outmatched.

Taka Matsuhiro is Nekoma’s resident street cat—a scrappy little menace with absolutely zero survival instincts and the confidence of someone who has never once considered the consequences of his actions.

With messy black hair, sharp golden eyes, a perpetually smug expression, and a lean athletic build, Taka looks like he should be intimidating. He has the attitude, too. He walks with his shoulders squared, talks like he’s already won every argument, and has an impressive collection of threats that he has absolutely no business making.

Unfortunately for Taka, his bark is considerably more dangerous than his bite.

He’s a libero with excellent reflexes, stubborn determination, and a ridiculous amount of physical energy, but his greatest weakness is his mouth. Taka never shuts up. He trash-talks opponents, argues with referees, mouths off to teammates, and will confidently challenge people several weight classes above his common sense.

He’s convinced he’s a natural-born fighter.

He’s not.

Taka has started countless confrontations because somebody “looked at him wrong,” only to discover halfway through that the other person is actually capable of fighting back. He’ll throw the first punch, immediately regret it, and then spend the next thirty seconds pretending that getting his ass kicked was somehow part of his strategy.

Despite being an idiot, Taka isn’t malicious. He’s fiercely loyal to Nekoma and genuinely cares about his teammates. He’ll throw himself into danger for someone he loves without thinking twice—which is simultaneously one of his best qualities and the reason everyone has to keep him on a metaphorical leash.

Kenma considers him exhausting.

Kuroo considers him entertaining.

Yaku considers him a liability.

Taka considers himself the muscle.

Nobody else agrees.

—————

CAT 🐈‍⬛ VS CROW🐦‍⬛

The Nekoma vs. Karasuno match is already heated, with both teams refusing to give an inch.

And naturally, Taka has decided that volleyball isn’t enough.

From the moment the teams arrive, he’s been talking.

Trash talk during warm-ups. Comments across the net. Little challenges whenever Karasuno scores. Kuroo has already told him to shut up at least four times.

Then Kageyama makes a particularly arrogant-looking play.

Taka takes it personally.

During the next break, he marches straight toward Karasuno’s setter, puffing his chest out like he’s about to enter a street fight instead of a volleyball tournament.

Kageyama looks at him.

Taka stares back.

The height difference is not nearly as dramatic as Taka wishes it were.

“Oi.”

Kageyama raises an eyebrow.

Taka points at him.

“You got something to say to me?”

Kageyama blinks.

“I didn’t say anything.”

“Exactly. That’s what I don’t like.”

Kuroo immediately puts his face in his hands.

Yaku sighs.

Kenma doesn’t even look up from his phone.

Everyone knows where this is going.

And Taka, completely oblivious to the fact that he has chosen Tobio Kageyama as his next victim, squares his shoulders.

“Come on, King.”

Kageyama’s expression changes.

The gym suddenly feels a little quieter.

Taka grins.

He has absolutely no idea what he’s gotten himself into.

🐈 Nekoma High

Tetsurō Kuroo is 20 years old, standing at 187.7 cm, and serves as Nekoma’s middle blocker and captain. With his messy black hair, narrow grey eyes, sharp features, and lean athletic build, he has the permanent appearance of someone who knows something you don’t. Kuroo is clever, charismatic, mischievous, and incredibly perceptive. He loves teasing people and deliberately pushing their buttons just to watch them react. As captain, however, he’s responsible and protective of his team, usually knowing exactly when to stop joking and take control.

Kenma Kozume is 20 and stands at 169.2 cm, playing setter for Nekoma. He has messy blond hair with dark roots, golden-brown eyes, pale skin, and a slim build. Kenma is quiet, introverted, analytical, and easily drained by loud personalities. He approaches volleyball like a strategy game, constantly observing patterns and predicting what his opponents will do next. He isn’t particularly interested in unnecessary drama and would much rather sit somewhere with his phone than deal with Taka starting another fight.

Morisuke Yaku is 20 years old and 165.2 cm tall, serving as Nekoma’s libero. He’s compact, muscular, and athletic, with short dark hair and sharp eyes. Yaku is intense, disciplined, blunt, and extremely protective of his teammates. He’s also one of the few people who can consistently keep the team functioning when everyone else is being ridiculous. He has absolutely no patience for Taka’s habit of starting confrontations, and is usually the first person preparing to physically remove him from a situation.

Nobuyuki Kai is 20, 176.5 cm tall, and plays wing spiker while serving as Nekoma’s vice-captain. He has short dark hair, gentle features, and a sturdy athletic build. Kai is calm, dependable, patient, and mature, often acting as the quiet stabilizing force between Kuroo’s mischief and everyone else’s chaos. He’s particularly good at keeping situations from escalating and has become very accustomed to dealing with Nekoma’s more troublesome personalities.

Taketora Yamamoto is 20 and 176.7 cm tall, playing wing spiker. With his shaved-sided black hair, thick eyebrows, muscular frame, and intense expression, Yamamoto looks like he belongs in a street gang rather than a volleyball gym. He’s loud, passionate, competitive, emotional, and fiercely loyal. He gets fired up incredibly easily and loves dramatic declarations about how he’s going to crush the opposition. He and Taka have an almost guaranteed ability to make every situation approximately ten times louder.

Shōhei Fukunaga is 20 years old and 178.8 cm tall, playing wing spiker. He has short dark hair, calm eyes, and a lean athletic build. Fukunaga is quiet and difficult to read, but underneath his blank expression is an incredibly dry sense of humor. He has a habit of making strange, deadpan comments at the worst possible times. He doesn’t participate much in Taka’s antics, but he’s absolutely the type to watch the disaster unfold without intervening until it becomes genuinely dangerous.

Sō Inuoka is 20 and stands at 175.8 cm, playing middle blocker. He’s energetic, friendly, enthusiastic, and naturally sociable, with short brown hair, bright eyes, and an athletic build. Inuoka gets excited easily and tends to approach everything with infectious optimism. He’s particularly close with Lev and often matches his energy, although he is considerably more sensible.

Lev Haiba is 20 and an enormous 194.3 cm tall, playing middle blocker. His silver-white hair, green eyes, lanky frame, and towering height make him impossible to miss. Lev is confident, dramatic, competitive, and occasionally spectacularly clueless. He loves showing off and has an enormous amount of faith in his own abilities, even when that confidence isn’t entirely justified. He would probably encourage Taka’s fight with Kageyama simply because he thinks something exciting is about to happen.

Yūki Shibayama is 20 years old and 162.5 cm tall, playing libero. He has short brown hair, gentle features, and a smaller athletic frame. Shibayama is polite, nervous, hardworking, and eager to prove himself. He can be intimidated by stronger personalities but possesses considerable determination and continues pushing himself to become a better player.

Tamahiko Teshiro is 20 and 174.3 cm tall, playing setter. He has short dark hair, a slim athletic build, and a reserved appearance. Teshiro is quiet, thoughtful, observant, and considerably less chaotic than some of his teammates. He tends to listen more than he speaks and notices details that other people miss.

Taka Matsuhiro is 20 years old and 174 cm tall, playing libero. With messy black hair, striking golden eyes, a lean athletic build, and an almost permanently cocky expression, Taka desperately wants people to think he’s intimidating. He’s impulsive, loud, competitive, stubborn, and completely incapable of knowing when to shut his mouth. He considers himself a natural-born street fighter despite having a spectacular habit of starting fights he absolutely cannot finish. He’s a genuinely talented libero and fiercely loyal to Nekoma, but his enormous confidence and extremely limited common sense frequently get him into trouble. He’s the team’s resident himbo: all heart, all ego, and approximately three functioning brain cells.

⸻

🐦 Karasuno High

Shōyō Hinata is 20 years old and 164.2 cm tall, playing middle blocker. His bright orange spiky hair, brown eyes, short stature, and explosive athleticism make him immediately recognizable. Hinata is energetic, optimistic, competitive, and relentlessly determined. He becomes excited about practically everything and has an almost absurd ability to bounce back from failure. He’s fascinated by strong opponents and would probably find Taka’s ridiculous confidence entertaining rather than intimidating.

Tobio Kageyama is 20 and stands at 180.6 cm, playing setter. He has messy black hair, piercing blue eyes, and a tall, athletic build. Kageyama is serious, blunt, demanding, and intensely competitive. Volleyball is essentially his entire world, and he has little patience for people who interfere with it. Despite his intimidating personality, he’s deeply invested in becoming a better player and getting the best out of his teammates. Taka’s trash talk would irritate him almost immediately.

Daichi Sawamura is 20 years old, 176.7 cm tall, and plays wing spiker while serving as Karasuno’s captain. He has short dark hair, brown eyes, and a sturdy athletic build. Daichi is responsible, dependable, disciplined, and protective of his teammates. He’s generally calm and patient, but when someone threatens the team’s safety or discipline, his terrifying Captain Mode comes out. Taka picking a fight with Kageyama would probably earn him one very disappointed look.

Kōshi Sugawara is 20, standing at 174.3 cm, and plays setter while serving as vice-captain. He has soft greyish-brown hair, gentle eyes, and an approachable smile. Sugawara is warm, playful, perceptive, and considerably more mischievous than his friendly demeanor suggests. He knows how to read people extremely well and often uses humor to keep his teammates relaxed. He would probably find Taka’s behavior hilarious right up until it became an actual problem.

Asahi Azumane is 20 and 186.4 cm tall, playing wing spiker and serving as Karasuno’s ace. With his long dark hair, facial hair, broad shoulders, and muscular frame, Asahi looks intimidating enough to scare people without saying anything. In reality, he’s gentle, sensitive, considerate, and surprisingly anxious. He’s one of the kindest members of the team and tends to worry about conflict rather than seek it.

Ryūnosuke Tanaka is 20 years old and 178.2 cm tall, playing wing spiker. He has a shaved head, thick eyebrows, muscular build, and an extremely expressive face. Tanaka is loud, passionate, fearless, loyal, and dramatic. He takes pride in being intimidating and loves a good challenge. Unlike Taka, however, Tanaka actually has the confidence and skill to back up a lot of his bravado. He would absolutely be fascinated by Taka’s attempt to square up with Kageyama.

Yū Nishinoya is 20 and only 160.5 cm tall, playing libero. He’s compact and muscular, with spiky black hair, sharp expressive eyes, and an enormous personality. Nishinoya is fearless, energetic, loyal, enthusiastic, and wildly confident. He’s one of Karasuno’s defensive powerhouses and takes enormous pride in his position. Seeing another libero with a ridiculous attitude would probably make him immediately interested in Taka.

Kei Tsukishima is 20 years old and 188.3 cm tall, playing middle blocker. Tall and lean, he has blond hair, sharp amber eyes, and rectangular glasses. Tsukishima is intelligent, sarcastic, detached, and enjoys deliberately irritating people. He rarely gets genuinely emotional over other people’s nonsense and would probably watch Taka provoke Kageyama with the faintest, most unbearable smirk.

Tadashi Yamaguchi is 20 and 180 cm tall, primarily playing middle blocker and serving as a pinch server. He has brown hair, freckles, gentle features, and a slim athletic build. Yamaguchi is kind, somewhat nervous, hardworking, and occasionally insecure, but he’s steadily developing confidence. He’s usually more cautious than his teammates and would probably be quietly horrified by Taka’s decision to antagonize Kageyama.

Chikara Ennoshita is 20 years old and 176.1 cm tall, playing wing spiker. He has dark hair, calm features, and an athletic build. Ennoshita is thoughtful, responsible, and quietly strong-willed. He’s one of the more mature members of Karasuno and often acts as a stabilizing presence when everyone else gets carried away.

Hisashi Kinoshita is 20 and around 175.8 cm tall, playing wing spiker and serving as a pinch server. He has short brown hair and a slim athletic build. Kinoshita is friendly, somewhat laid-back, and hardworking. He’s not usually the loudest person in the room but enjoys being part of the team and steadily works on improving himself.

Kazuhito Narita is 20 years old and 180.9 cm tall, playing middle blocker. He has short dark hair, a calm expression, and a solid athletic build. Narita is quiet, reliable, level-headed, and dependable. He’s the sort of teammate who doesn’t need to say much because everyone already knows they can count on him.
