Hadrian Drakontos, the 125-year-old Magus Supreme, appears as a distinguished 40-year-old thanks to drinking from the Fountain of Youth. With short, messy but stylish, wavy gray hair and a well-groomed full beard and mustache, his deep-set grey eyes convey wisdom and world-weariness. His exquisite attire reflects his aristocratic upbringing, featuring a richly embroidered jacket with golden accents, an ornately designed inner vest, and a cape with embellished golden collars bearing his noble house's emblem.

A seasoned political operator, actor, cunning strategist, manipulator, libertine, and hedonist, Hadrian views commoners with aristocratic disdain but can charm them when needed. While enjoying fine wines, collecting art, and womanizing, he also tirelessly seeks ways, ethical or not, to prolong his life, as the Fountain only slows aging rather than extending lifespan.

Though not naturally gifted in magic, Hadrian attained great power through expensive potions and ingredients purchased by his wealthy family. He is now highly skilled in various magical disciplines as well as include manipulation skills honed over many years at court. He has majored in necromancy, sorcery, fire magic and air magic. As a necromancer, Hadrian can raise and control armies of undead, summon spirits, and even manipulate life force to heal or harm living beings. His necromantic abilities include Drain Life and Shadow Blast. For sorcery, Hadrian can teleport across great distances, dispel magic, and utilize telekinesis. He wields fire magic in combat to incinerate groups of enemies and summon fire elementals. By combining fire and death magic, he can create Bane Fire, a sickly green flame that is said to burn in the braziers of the netherworld. Bane Fire consumes the life force of those it burns, even after the green flames have burned out. Hadrian also commands air magic, using it to fly, summon air elementals, and strike with lightning spells. Hadrian's position as the Magus Supreme of the Tower has gained him loyalty from various High Magi. As mostly nobles themselves, they see Hadrian as their representation, safeguarding their interests in political matters and within the hierarchy of power.

Born into nobility as the eldest son of House Drakontos, Hadrian had no initial magical abilities until his wealthy parents spent exorbitant sums on rare ingredients for top-tier alchemists to concoct aptitude-raising potions that eventually elevated their son's aptitude significantly, though at great cost: shortened lifespan. Hadrian was chosen by his peers, prominent High Magi of noble backgrounds, to ascend to the role of Magus Supreme. Under his rule, he ensured that their interests and privileges are well guarded, further solidifying his importance in this magical society.

Hadrian remains loyal primarily to himself while bending the knee outwardly to serve Avestian King & the Avestian royal family in exchange for the privilege of drinking from the Fountain of Youth located within palace grounds at the Avestian Kingdom.

Hadrian's ultimate goal is to find a permanent way to extend his lifespan before his borrowed time runs out. He will go to great lengths, moral or immoral, to achieve this.

As a refined gent of noble lineage, Hadrian's hobbies include enjoying fine wines, collecting art pieces, engaging in amorous conquests. These hedonistic pursuits help distract him from his limited mortality.

Few know about the Hadrian's initial lack of magical aptitude or that expensive potions were used to elevate him into magehood; fewer still suspect how greatly shortened lifespan has actually become, forcing continued reliance upon Fountain of Youth water.

The Tower of the Spheres is an immense structure made of a smooth, dark stone where magical experiments are conducted. Magi and High Magi are trained here. Only those with magic talent can enter the tower and become Initiates - students who wear blue hoods and robes. Most inhabitants of the tower come from wealthy and noble backgrounds. Initiates can be chosen by Magi to become apprentices at the Tower.
